[Q] Possible Brick?? Some help if possible

Hey Guys,
I have NFI what happened to my phone but I think its bitten then dust..
I've been running NAND Android builds for a while now, the phone has been a bit funky for a few weeks now so I wanted to completely wipe and start form scratch..
So I download Task29 a new radio and ROM from the links in the ROM page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=933951) and ran Task29 like I have multiple times before.
The install went fine, and the phone rebooted like its meant to but now its stuck on the HTC screen, I can't boot in MAGLDR or HSPL...
So, is it borked??

suitable radio? suitable spl? both are critical. magldr wont work without 2.08.hspl and a ..50.. radio

The radio that was installed on before running TASK29 was, Radio Leo 2.15.50.14.
It already had HSPL v2.08 and MGLDR 1.3, already installed.
As I said, I've flashed new WinMo and Android ROM's hundreds of times, I mean I dont normally run Task29 before every install but I have multiple times in the past.
I only ran Task29 today as the phone was being really bad so I though a clean install might be the best way to go.

hmm, not sure what to suggest without sounding patronising, hehe,
there are a few people that cant seem to get magldr to start, for no good reason,
reflash the radio (just in case) manually go check the spl in bootloader again (just in case it doesnt say 2.08.hspl,, sometimes what you know for a fact is true actually isnt) and as for magldr, well its susceptible to all the usual flashing issues, , run as administrator, try every usb port, turn off your firewall,,,, try another pc even, , in fact if you have another pc available, try that first.

Thanks for the replies, but I can't get it to boot into MGLDR or SPL thats my problem.
When I turn it on it loads up the 1st HTC logo and hangs.
Is there another way that I can flash a radio of I cant boot into SPL???

I've read something about this before. I don't think it's an easy fix and it may be best to try go back to where you bought it and try get a replacement or send it in to HTC. I'm not too sure if they'll know that you have HSPL installed. I'd say highly likely they will. Have you tried hard resetting? Or can you not get to that screen?
If you want to find more on this just google "HD2 Wsod" or "HD2 White screen of death". You'll find lots if people with the same thing.
My HD2 has something similar but I can get to HSPL but it stays at a blank white screen with normal power on.
What happens when it's off snd you plug in the USB? Does it try start because of MAGLDR or just charge/do nothing?

Thanks for the reply, when I plug the USB cable in while the phone is off, only the charge light comes up. Doesn't actually try and boot

I know you said you ha e flashed hundreds of times, so you should know this. I am not being patronizing here either, but I will say it anyway. You have gwo different ways to flash a new radio, but both require gou to put gour HD2 into bootloader.
To put your HD2 into bootloader turn the device off and then turn it back on but hold the volume down button wbile it is booting and it will go to bootloader.
Whilr jn bootloader connect via USB cable to gour computer wait until you see USB the wbite bar of bootloader then you can flash the radio, a Win Mo ROM, HSPL, or MAGLDR just wich ever one uou want to flash at that time.
You can use a 500MB to 4GB SD card to flash the radio as well as a Win Mo ROM. You just rename the.nbh file to leoimg.nbh for the radio or the ROM and copy it to the root of your SD card. plasce the SD card back in the device. Put the device into bootloader but do not let go of the volume down botton until you see search hinge on the screen of the device. Be aware though if you flash a official ROM this way it will overwrite everything HSPL and all so you whind up with a stock HD2 again.

Stupid question: you are holding down the volume down button to boot into HSPL right?

install MAGLDR 1.13 on 1.12?

Well i have installed MAGLDR 1.12 before and had NAND. BUt now i want to try out CWM, and need 1.13.
But how do i update to 1.13? i tried to just run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe, but it cant find my phone. so i cant install it.
please help me asap!

the same way you installed 1.12 the process is the same

im a genius so i solved it myself!
just hold VolDown + onbutton - to go to bootloader.
then connect the usb, and flash the MAGLDR

no you just did what you did intially to put magldr on, as per what i said

i think 1.13 batter.

if you cant do the update through bootloader or anything the you have only one option left reflah a stoch rom and then do it

Why would you even bother to give such a HELPFUL post? Obviously if he remembered how to flash MAGLDR he would of done it. It's not hard to just say to boot to HSPL and do it...

1-flash CWR recovery partition ?

You still see the pink logo then it means you didn't completely flash MAGLDR. Go to the tri-colors bootscreen hook your phone to pc. Unzip MAGLDR 1.13 and run DAF when you see the word "usb" when you hooked it to pc in tri-colors boothscreen.

Do you have a 2.07.50.xx or higher radio?
If not MAGLDR will not boot up.

You also need hspl 2.08, I had same thing yesterday when I got my new phone thought I'd bricked it after 5 minutes of having it

i install MAGLDR ,and run it, and now i am stuck in its boot menu...i havent instail any window7 or android, i install first MAGLDR,,and stuck in its screen,,,
i saw the choice of menu always while entering in service menu and then boot setting menu...but could choose yes and no ,,,can anybody solve mine problem please

CLK epic fail

Cant install CLK
So I got my HTC today
This is what I did:
1. Power off , volume down power on get into rainbow menu
2. Run HSPL 4 to install 3.03 HSPL
3. Installation successful
4. Went into HD android Nand toolkit to install CLK
5. Ran task 29 ,restarted back into rainbow menu
5. Selected 180mb partition with 44mb Cache
6. Ran repartition followed on screen instruction and progress bar came up on my phone and installed fine (I think?)
7. Device restarted and stuck on HTC screen
Watched the guide on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837 to install CLK
Went through procedure.... and im still stuck on HTC screen
Cant get into fastboot to intall cwm, power on with back button held down it just stays on HTC screen.

Not sure about clk, never used it, but magldr will ONLY start with 2.08.hspl, AND a 2.x.50 radio, perhaps clk is the same?

I tried with 2.08 hspl but still its stuck at HTC logo and cant get into clk, dont know what radio im on because it gets stuck on htc logo

as far as reports are concerned, People have been running clk with 3.03hspl and 2.10 radios and what not, it just needs to be a .50 to enable 576mb ram.
How is it clk epic fail if it's just you not being able to get it to work ? have you followed everything properly ?

I didnt mean CLK is a epic fail, I epic failed at installing it. Anyway I reinstalled windows 6.5 again as I read it might help, ran HD2 toolkit and it worked this time round.

What do you mean you can enter the 3 color state? Do you have any issues with your hardware buttons?

You should really get your volume button checked. If its a hardware problem, then it can be fixed. Otherwise its bricked

If you have fastboot installed on your computer you can..
Extract the zimage from the zip file
then while phone is on and connected via usb (adb debugging on)
adb reboot-bootloader
then when in bootloader mode
fastboot flash zimage zimage
fastboot reboot

no the button work ok. when i press in magldr 1.11 works ok.

i have the 2.08 SPL or HSPL i dont remenber but i can put the magldr 1.11 with the romutility from windows but now i cant put in bootloader screen to put the magldr 1.13. i dont check the value of the radio.

Just in case ..are you holding volume down button and pressing and releasing power button while still holding volume button?
It really looks like there is a prob with the volume. As was said already it can be fixed
A cracked volume ribbon cable is not uncommon! !

the button is not the problem. when the magldr 1.11 loads the button works ok.

Magldr does not change the radio!

i dont check the radio when install the magldr 1.11.
first i install the 2.08 HSPL, then with the ROMUpdateUtility install MAGLDR 1.11.
i never can put the phone in bootloader mode, that is my problem. i dont know what is the radio

i would suggest making a clear install using the task29 or WM1.66 instal ect.
you have to hold the vol down button while loading
I hav had a problem with magldr1.13 which was caused by the radio - it didnt want to install on the 2.15.50.14 radio and i have had to downgrade my radio, install magldr1.13 and the update the radio to the 2.50.15.14.
but still consider a fresh install of all things to eliminate some stuff staying in the nand memory after such things ...

Man, download original Windows 6.5 ROM with Radio.
And run it. it doesn't need push any button. it sends you to 3-colored screen and installs win 6.5 ROM.
Later you can try magldr again or try your volume or power button.

I don't think auto loading to bootloader works in magldr.

If your volume button works then try to install an WP7 or android rom through dft. Why do you need to go into bootloader at the moment?

You seem stuck and may have a bricked phone, try this

Seems you are stuck, maybe you want to try this:
1. Try to start your phone by holding Volume Down and then press the power button. Keep pressing the Volume down. You should you see the four-color (red, green, blue, white) bootloader screen
2. Check that it says 2.08.HSPL (if not, you should start by flashing the correct HSPL by connecting phone by USB and using HSLP4.exe (run as Administrator in Windows)
3. If you have the correct HSPL check that you have 2.15.50.14 Radio ROM installed. If not, you cannot proceed. (Tip: check every file you wodnload if has been correcty received)
4. If all the above things are correct you can flash MAGLDR 1.3) Still using Voluime Down and powes and the four-color (red, green, blue, white) bootloader screen
5. Now you can boot the phone by pressing and holiding down power. MAGLDR will boot, choos 5 USB Flash and flash your favourite version of Clockworkmod (250 Mb version recommended)
Now you are ready to use MAGLDR and/or Clockworkmod any way you want.
If you skip/downgrade and of use DAF update after 5, your phone will be confused as hell. In that case do a TASK29 and start again from step 1.
Alternatively get a copy of HD2-Tool and do all above steps with that. Its really good.
