Can someone please help me..
I want to upgrade to the new ROM 1.11 but I need to backup all of my messages..
I am not sure if using xBackup to backup before upgrading the new ROM then use xBackup to restore is ok or not.. (will this screw up my PPC? because of the old files that might overwrite the new ROM files)
or is there any other way to backup the messages then restore after the upgrade is completed?
Thanks in advance.
use Jeyo Mobile Compagnion work great for this
Sprite Backup also backs up messages and call logs. You'll just have to use the advanced method and see to that you only check those things when you restore. It's said that you cannot restore the full backup afterwards.
Try this
BACKUPSMS by DOPOD china

Hy!
I did a full backup before i chenged wm 6.1. Can I restore this backup to wm 6.5? I use spb backup.
Restore with SPB Backup
Yes but only customized restore, do not do a full restore!!
With customized restore you will get your contacts, emails, calender.
With full restore it overwrites everything and will mess up your wm6.5
hope this helps.

Would advise against this mate as there are differences in registry between wm6.1 & wm6.5, so you would be replacing new settings, changes, registries etc with the older ones which may make rom unusable. If your going to use SPB Backup, the full restore should only be used on the rom the backup was done on. Otherwise I would just use the custom restore for emails, contacts (PIM Data).
If your looking for a good backup tool for restoring everything no matter what rom, use SASHIMI

Hi Team,
I was using Asus P750 With Windows MObile 6.1 and i had created a backup on the case i have the backup files with EXTENTION as (.bac) how ever i am not able to find any option to restore the same in windows mobile 6.5 as there was one in 6.1 as backup and restore utility
Please Help
Your best bet will be to use Microsoft MyPhone to backup your PIM data and Media and restore it that way. This will not backup any settings or customizations or apps and programs but it will save you some time at least. I have not been able to find any other solutions to restoring over a different platform because there are differences in the OS that would cause stability issues.
Can I use USB to do a copy of all files and directories to my PC then use that as a restore to bring my phone back to same state as now if I change from WM 6.5 to Android and have a problem?
I'm new to this and am just getting my feet wet.
No, you need spb backup, also good to do secondary backup of mail & contacts via PIM BackUp or iMobileTools sms/contacts backup or similar.
Thanks for the info. I've now done both.
i have HTC leo with wm 6,5 but wanted android... i used 91 panda for backup and hoped that the android version of panda would restore the backup file to android but it didnt.. now i have my phone with android and cannot restore my contacts.. is there a way to do it or must i reinstal wm 6,5? thx in advance
So I would recommend you should use Google! Install Windows Mobile and sync your contacts with your new Google Mail account. Due to need of Google account it's really easy to sync.
