Hi there.
In Win 6.5 there was an app called "Keypad LED Control". With this app, you could have the Keypad light automatically switched on while the touchscreen is on.
Im looking for a similar App for Android (Gingerbread) but havent found anything like that in the market or the forum, anyone has an idea?
I don't know if it'll work with your rom but you can try AdjBrightness from the market. it has the opition to lock button backlight on or off.

Hello , I would like to turn off my Mini`s proximity sensor and light sensor , but I couldn`t find out any setting even in the registry editor .
anybody could teach me ?
thank you
I don't know about the Proximity Sensor.. But you can Turn OFF Ambient Light sensor.. In Sence, go to Settings tab->Sound & Display.. Here in Bottom you will get Backlight setting, tap on it.. Then you will see the first Option "Automatically adjust Backlight".. Just uncheck it.. Your Light sensor will be disabled..
I don't know if there any other way..
This didn't work, It merely turns off the backlight adjuster for when you haven;t used your phone in x minutes.
I am currently looking through the registry on the HDMini to try and find the entry...
Has anyone managed to find the registry entry already?
Cheers

So I installed CHT and the CHTeditor (although it is not written for the resolution of my phone), I have managed to look through the settings on the editor but couldn't find the setting. Can you point me in the right direction?

Managed to find the HVGA port for CHT and installed, still can't seem to find the option to turn off the ambient light sensor. I think it's back to searching through the registry.
CHT looks pretty cool though after playing around with it...

sure.long press on screen, add free link, toggle switch.there u will find proximity sensor and proximity relight.
Thanks
I tried both of these, and after adding and turning on the options the phone went crazy and the screen kept activating and de-activating. I managed to turn off the options. But still, during a call the screen de-activates so I can't hang up.
I've gone back to checking the registry and have found a couple of entries which could be useful. I'm testing changing a few now. Will post the results...
You could try to use Lumos, its a nice tool to tune light sensor for oneself.

Hello everyone, I'm going crazy for even I disable this proximity sensor, and someone managed?
Me too... I have a broken proximity sensor... I can't hang up... When I make a call the display goes black and never return to light... Is there a way to kill it forever???
Look at this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=488991
This is an app, that disables light sensor during calls and also use g-sensor. I have also the problem with proximity sensor (can't hang up after dial), but this app helps me to hang up. After dialing your screen turn off but if you turn your phone to landscape position the screen will turn on again.
It is solution for me.

nice app, thanks! But the feature that the screen turns on in landscape mode does not work on my mini. Do I have to change any setting for that? Also, it says it is possible to have the screen always on. Also that does not work.
similar issue in HTC Aria?
maybe this link for the Aria helps? At least it helped me, I forgot to put back a little rubber cover on the sensor:

Hi,
I have the HTC HD2 and the DarkStone Android build on it,
my problem is that the Keypad LED Notification isn´t working on my device, theres an point in the settings where i can enable/disable it, but its just not working.
So i wanted to ask if theres maybe an application (like for the WM OS) that enables it or if i have to do something else to get it working.
Sorry for the unproper english, hope you get my point
Led Me Know is the correct answer

Hi,
is there any way to configure the hw buttons backlight behaviour? In WinMo there was a little app called Keypad LED Backlight, which kept the HW buttons backlid as long as the display was on. I like that behaviour very much, especially when you are using your phone at night.
Right now the hw buttons backlight turn off after a certain time, even when the screen is still on.
Are there any apps or mods to configure the backlight behavious?
thanks
boba
I looking for this as well.I've tried some things but nothing seems to work.

Hi Guys,
I've been trying almost all the apps I found in the forum to lock the device.
the following is a small guide and comments:
a) S2U2:
this is a great application, very configurable, if configured correctly saves battery, and has an expection list for applications which you don't want to lock (Gps, etc)
The only problem is that it does not use the WM lock screen and it uses a lot of Ram.
b) LockDevice 1.6
Works perfect, simple and very light.
The problem is that it does not have the option of locking the device on light dim, so when phone is plug it does not lock.
c) Smartlock:
This app is a bit buggy. tried several versions 1.9B and 2.0F
for an unknown reason, when I select 'lock on light dim' it locks even if the light does not dim (some programs like the tomtom prevents light to dim)
There is no exception list either.
d) Auto Lock (CSDEVCTRL):
This app is quite complicated to config, and I have not been able to config correctly.
e) TouchLockPro:
This is a good solution for devices without slider to answer call.
Other features are not what I've been looking for.
f) WM autolock on dim (reg tweak):
The unsolved problem is that after dim and lock, when you unlock the backlight does not turn on again.
I don't know if this is a MS problem or HTC, but it does not work.
After trying all this programs I haven't found excactly was I was looking for:
- Device lock on backlight Dim.
- turn off the screen after x time.
- Exception list of app you don't want to lock.
The best would be to modify the S2U2 iLock to work with the WM lock, but as its out of my possibilities I'm using Devicelock 1.6
Does anyone knows any other program/trick I can try?
Thanks in advance.
These are done with smartlock and Gaz Tools for the Tpoax (x time out)
- Device lock on backlight Dim.
- turn off the screen after x time.
I would love an app that allows this though.
- Exception list of app you don't want to lock.

It seems you want to avoid hitting the standby button to avoid locking the device? I personally use An app called My Suspend (mytd2.blogspot.com) you simply hit tthe icon and your device locks into sleep mode. i don't have to hit the power button nymore to lock mty phone
Hi,
I use also the manual screen lock, but I wanted to automate it when backlight goes off.
So I'm using Devicelock 1.6 which include a manual "lock now" function, but not backlight dim lock.
Hi all
Im searching for an app that instantly rotates the screen to landscape and back..
no, not an app that toggles auto rotation. i want to assign the app to the call button, that i can turn it manually.
i want to decide by myself when the screen rotates.
this is cause im more and more pissed about the rotation when lying in bed, or walking around. i dont want to always toggle it on and off.. it was so much easier on windows mobile, i could just assign a button, wich instantly rotated my screen.
i googled and searched XDA, but found nothing that suits my needs so far.. :/
would be awsome if someone of you knows an app like this
ty.
btw, i installed the app "button remapper" where i can assign the keys.
but it has no option for rotation, or opening an app, so i just decided to assign it as the search button, so i can customize the key via the ultimate droid options.
now i just need an app wich turns the screen... :3
...bump..?.. :/

Try this.

Or, search for RotateD API in Google. I use the app for my Augen tablet.
