As the topic says, what's the rounded item in the attached image?
It shows tapping on the upper edge of the screen...
How can I find a way to remove/change it (with a registry key, with a software, in cooking the rom or anything else..)
I'm using a custom (made by me) ROM with Wm 6.5.5.

Hi, does anyone know how to change the picture (I have the T-Mobile logo) which appears when turning on the phone? Is it possible to change also the logo of Windows Mobile? Thanks
Change Windows Mobile Startup Screen...
Yes, it is possible. But please do a search before you ask questions. You will find the info here:

For your second request --->
To change the "Windows Mobile" startup screen you got to copy a .png picture file (320*240) into your devices "/Windows" directory, with the name "welcomehead.96.png". I copied with Resco Explorer and got a warning for overwriting a ROM file. Still: This worked! Also with the new WM6 ROMS (in my case XDA live 0.10).
(see: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_UpgradeFAQ#Q21)
Well, in my case I edited a small screen with my name, contact details and picture and used it as flash screen 1&2 and as Windows Mobile startup screen. So that if I ever loose the device everyone will know where to return it. Quite a theft prevention as well, since a hard-reset won´t erase the flash screens.

Just wondering if the loader screen can be changed? I have used several ROMs and most come with different start-up screens. Is there a way to change them for a custom image?
Easiest way I know of is to cook up a custom ROM using the PPCGeeks kitchen (ppckitchen.org). Lets you choose up to 3 boot splash images, and if you then flash a rom which doesn't have its own boot screens (I use JakDillard's roms), they won't be overwritten and you end up with a chef's rom with your custom splash.
If you're talking about the animated startup Sprint screen I'm not sure. If you're talking about the green WM6 startup screen you can change the /windows file welcomehead.96.png with anything you want. There's a couple of really nice ones you can find if you do a search.
to change sprint startup animation go to:
HKLM\Software\HTC\Startupanimation
and point "GIFFile" to a GIF amination of your preference.
or you can replace to file SPCS_Startup.gif located in \windows.
The screen I would like to change is the one that first pops up before the animation. It has the ROM version, and Radio version and other information on it. The picture I have right now is of a muppet. "And it says PPCGeeks and PPCKitchen.org Present", is there anyway to change that one? I am intrigued by the idea of creating my own ROM, but will my OS still work the same? Will I k still have the same OS just different ways of customizing? Or will I have to get a new OS? Sorry if I am not making sense, I currently have W6.1, GPS upgrade, google Maps, TomTom Navigator 6, and other good apps. How can I keep these apps while eliminating other ones. Also can I make a ROM that does all that while changing my Radio from 3.37 to 3.35? Sorry for all the questions but I figured I would ask in a single post rather that several
Thanx in advance
Im cooking my own 6.1 rom (build 21051) and i want to know if its somehow possible to make ok/x button in newer 6.1 builds (20xxx+) looks like in the older (19xxx) ones? I mean the square border around the ok/x button - in newer builds looks like it has been removed and I want it there.
I tryed to copy (before cooking) shellres.96.dll from older build, but this didnt work. Then I tryed to swap whole 21051-SYS folder in my kitchen with the 19xxx-SYS, cook it, and then I had the nice old-style ok/x button with border. But I dont want the old build when I can have the newer and faster-one So after this, i started to remove/copy folders from SYS folder and I discovered, that the ok/x button is affected by some file(s) /or maybe registry settings/ which are situated in SYS/Shell folder. But I cant find which files/reg. settings affects this border around ok/x button... Can anybody help pls?
I somehow managed to overwrite my lock sceen slider, could someone be a sport and copy the appropriate pngs for me please?
the filenames i need are:
\\windows\\icn_em_up.png
\\windows\\icn_em_dn.png
\\windows\\icn_mc_up.png
\\windows\\icn_mc_dn.png
\\windows\\icn_vm_up.png
\\windows\\icn_vm_dn.png
\\windows\\icn_sms_up.png
\\windows\\icn_sms_dn.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSliderLong.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSliderLong_Dwn.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSlider.png
\\windows\\LS_LockSlider_Dwn.png
I would have to hate to hard reset just for a bunch of pngs :}
Edit: Forgot to add, the slider im looking for comes stock (i think ?) with the 1.61 ROM, it is transparent and uses the same type message symbol as the one in Sense.
Hi everyone,I have done ,with an hex editor,a little modification at the screen of notifications (when you push the top bar on wm6.5.x) which replace the battery button for an acces to windows start menu(the old SendWin),the same who appears in bottom-left of some roms. The taskManager button was added time ago.
In wm 6.5.x that top bar ,on my opinion,is not so good than the old wm6.5 one, whith this twek ,the acces to start menu and taskmanager can be easy with a simple finger. For view it,see the preview image.
I have tested on 2 diferents wm6.5.x roms and runs.Instalation:
Backup your originals NotificationManager.dll and NotificationRes.dll, the first is the one I hacked ,the second where the new icons are.
Download an unzip the attached zip, copy to \windows replacing the existing files.Softreset and enjoy.
Notes:
-Mortscript must be instaled previously on your rom.
-The buttons can be used as launchers of any .exe you whant, simply rename your app to Rtask2.exe or powerexx.exe and copy to windows.
nice mod
i don't have this DLL on my device ? do you have an HTC ?
Yes,htc Leo with wm6.5.x ,in rom artemis v30 the start icon does not apears but when push the oem battery icon the hack works and sends to the windows start menu.
