Definite Solution for fixing Chevron WP7 USB Problem - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Hi guys,
ive tried pretty much all the solutions to fix the usb problem none of them worked, i stumbled across a way to fix it, to fix the chevron wp7 usb problem:
I have tested this around 15 times and its worked each time
Connect the phone with usb cable
Open Zune
As you sync Zune with phone, open the chevron unlocker and click unlock
It should unlock, i have tried this around 15 times so far and its worked each time
You need to click the unlock button as zune is syncing files to phone
Enjoy

Nope, not working. (No surprise, really). I guess if I like the OS enough I'll just go get a phone with it. Tired of wasting my time with Chevron.

it works for me!!!! thanks dude!!!

gone and broke it

any help is gratefully received.
i was doing a rom update(pugs) and the unit has become stuck in what i think is bootloader mode. the screen is dark and displays "serial v1.01
after much searching on this forum i tried to hard reset then run maupgradeut again.
problem is that activesync no longer detects my device.
ive tried pressing power/reset/action buttons to no effect.does this mean i now have a pretty coffee coaster.
now you were at bootloader mode. try remove the device n put it back on cradle, for sure windows will detect it. after that, try run the upgrade again. The problem that you're having now are same like me when I first bought my device. The answer is good being a newbies n ready to ask question at here. hahahahah
thanks
now youve hit the nail squarely on the head. i thought i knew enough to update but when its gone boobies up realised i dont.
ive tried resetting the device and then connecting to my pc several times with no success.
anyone know how to take the device out of bootloader mode. im hoping theres a backup stored on the device that will boot...or...anyone know how to get the pc to recognise the damn thing before i launch it out of the window(all the way to an o2 shop).
im sure im not alone(can hear the voices)
took some brain power on my part. turns out microsoft activesync was the problem.
upgraded to the latest version and everything went as it should.

HELP! Comp does not recognize Wizard

Guys,
I need help here, a few days ago, I changed my USB since all of a sudden, the phone can't be charged. Then, after the USB got changed, I am able to charge the Wizard... but the strange thing happened, my comp does not recognize the Wiz, it does not even show any device at all. I tried to do all the stuffs, like:
- install/uninstall Active sync
- update active sync
- restart comp several times
- even hard reset my Wiz a couple times
All of em are not working. Would any of u guys have this problem before? Any ideas why? Is it time to say good bye? =(
do a system restore to a date you know that worked. something happens with the usb drivers and the way the phone talks to the pc, not sure on the how or why. but whenever i downgrade, when i go to install the new rom, it says unrecognizeable, system restore usually does the trick.
I forgot to mention that I did bring it to the repair shop, and all the computers that they have cannot recognize my phone... when they plugged in their USB to my phone, their activesync can't recognize it even though it's charging...
So, I don't think it's the problem w/ my comp. Anyone has any other ideas?
Thanks tho...

Go to this page and get a new PC USB cable or cradle. It may also be the internal USB port on your device.

EDIT:: It could possibly be a virus on your device. I hate to say that but I just remembered that a friend of mine had the same problem when he got a virus on his device. Also, have you ever dropped the device or gotten it wet?

Is my HD2 toast?

I've had my hd2 since mid-April and really has not given me any issues or problems until a few days ago when the touchscreen began to not respond as it would normally. I would have hang-ups on the lockscreen but it eventually respond and unlock after a few tries. Now, however, my phone refuses to unlock itself and every once in a while it will actually respond. I've hard reseted dozens of times, couldn't change roms as the computer doesn't even detect the damn phone in activesync, and now I'm back to using my old Nokia n95(man that thing is reliable). Are there any solutions or advice to help this situation? Or should I just call Tmo and have them send me my casket for this phone? Any help will be greatly appreciated....
you can flash roms from bootloader, phone doesn't have to be running and connected to active sync
Really? May I ask how do you do that?(sorry for being noobish) just that its my first time running into this problem since I got this phone since April.
Ah nvm, I figured out how to do it, still didn't solve the problem, screen isn't responding at all....time to order a replacement....awesome
ah well, better luck with the next one.

I unlocked (I hate to say jailbreak, reminds me of the iSh*t) it yesterday and atm it still unlocked
This should obviously be in the Q&A thread.
Did you connect your phone to zune meanwhile? I read somewhere that it locks as soon as you connect it.
I Plug the phone in - unlock it - and for as long as i keep it plugged in it stays unlocked etc but soon as i unplug it and have to plug it back in to install an app etc - i have to unlock it again =-/
Developer Unlock
You need to developer unlock your Windows Phone 7 Device.
There's a registry tweak that stops your phone relocking each time you connect to Zune.
Read THIS post. but you'll need to read the FIRST post in that thread to know what to do.

Thanks goes to Xboxmod on the Dev team for this hack

Also, if you don't feel like messing with registry settings, turning on Airplane Mode before connecting your phone to the PC works. Well, at least it's been working for me!

HD2 stuck at go go go!

Hello all,
I want to start off by apologizing if this has been answered somewhere else........because if it has....I simply just cannot find it. I have been looking for hours and hours because i know people don't like reposts, but alas I don't know what else to do.
My Dad brought me his HD2 about a year ago complaining that he didn't want windows mobile anymore and he had actually been trying to install android following the instructions here on xda. Well I helped him get it installed using magldr and it has been working great. The other day he dropped his phone about 8 feet and broke the screen. The phone still worked fine, just a nice crack or 2 or 3 in the middle of the screen. He had the phone replaced but now whenever he boots it just gets stuck at go go go!
I have tried task 29, but when it comes to the screen that says current phone version it is blank then the next screen it tries to update but then it fails (see attachment). So i opened the Windows mobile device center to see if it was seeing the phone and sure enough it isn't syncing and i am not sure how to get it to sync. I did read however that I could just take the phone to the bootloader (the screen with the 3 colors), make sure that it said usb at the bottom and task 29 from there, but i got the same result.
I am pretty sure the radio is a 2.15.5* version, although i dont remember for sure because i did this so long ago. I thought it showed the radio on the bootloader screen, but now that i look it does not. It is on SPL-2.08.
Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thanks for the suggestion!
I am using windows 7, but i do have windows xp mode. I installed activesync in the VM but it still cannot see my phone. I went into the bootloader and connect the cable, it changed to usb so i thought i would try and run the RUU exe and see if i would have any luck, but i am getting the same result. I am guessing the phone has to be recognized by the active sync, am i right? How can i go about getting it to recognize it?
You should try to reflash it with a stock ROM from microSD and see if everything else, but usb port, is OK.
NB It seems your usb port is faulty...
