how to keep my data connection alive even when my phone in 'Standby'
Standby : Like pressing 'Red'/Reject Button or Automatic Turn off screen

How can i shutdown a gprs connection?
All other connection can shutdown in the connectivity-windows but not the gprs.

Doesn't it say that you are connected with a little 'gprs' in the top left hand corner of the screen?
If it does hold the stylus on the symbol and uncheck the gprs line that is checked.
I've only had mine 2 days so still getting used to it, so no doubt there are other ways of doing it (more than likely simpler ways too )
one silly way that works with XDA I and not sure it does with XDA II. Press and hold the RED phone button till the phone is off. Then turn it on again and don't perform any GPRS action ... It will stay off :roll:
Anyway, if it doesn't cost too much, I like the "always connected" feature
With the XDA II you hold down the end button fo 3 seconds to disconnect GPRS.. it doesn't turn off the phone (only way to do that is tap on the connection icon, and hit turn wireless off.

Yes, it says that i´m connection with gprs, but there is no way to disconnect.

end-button == end-phone-call-button? I will try that....
I found holding down the red end button turned off the GPRS connection.
Anyway does it matter if it is left on??

As a simple function, most of the symbian phones had a digital clock screen protect that keep back light off but keep turnning on.
But howcome Softbank do not provide the smiliar function ???
That is very trouble to turn it on and off serval times per day.
Think the Hi power battery for SB has enough power to keep turnning on during the day, is there any softwares is work/discovered ???
Hi is there a way to turn off the standby mode..
i tried to turn off the standy mode by unchecking the " turn off device if not used " in the advanced tab of power options ... but it still seems to go into standby mode after some time....
the reason why i want this is that i dont want to press the power button every time i want to use the handset... i want the handset to light up if i press any key

would there be an application that will turn on the device when it's OFF. Reason behind this is that my power button wasn't working anymore so I need an app to turn on my phone. Apparently, my alternate route is using AE button plus for turning off, and to turn on my phone is that I have to take out the stylus, but I noticed that it used to consume battery usage...if I take it out on the second time it will eat up 2% of the battery usage...and I had even tried using the switch display off/on with the AE button plus but it will make my usage with my phone for upto 8 complete hours only....before I can even use my phone upto 12-14 hours...
if not an application, maybe remapping or registry hack will help..

What type is ur pda? Do u mean turn on from COMPLETELY turn off?
Go to Start,Settings,System,Key Lock and set it to "Do not lock buttons".
This way, any button press on any button will wake the device. You might want to lock it before switching off so you don't dial people by mistake.
iam using HTC diamond and currently have the SUN 6.1 with 2.5 manila version, but it seems that the keylock doesn't work properly on that ROM

I just had a problem with my Wlan, first it wont turn off, I rebooted. Now I wonder when it will switch to 3G when screen is off.
I'm using this setting but it seems not to work.
How much time will past until it switchs? Can anyone please tell me if this standby plan is selected when the 3G will be enabled? Just until you kill the screen by pressing the power button or after e.g. 15 min or like.
