Hello, I have some problems with my mob.phone HTC HD2: after using Flash mobile stop working, then I tried install windows and tried turn on first time and my phone shows white screan with name HTC and don`t work at all, then i tried reset and Hard reset all setings and turn on again and than screan appears again with name HTC.
When i conect my phone to pc by usb, so my pc can`t find that phone.
Can you help me with this problem.
Thank you.
you should get your stock rom, ONLY your stock rom, extract the file ruu_signed.nbh
copy that file to your sd card formatted to fat 32 rename the file to leoimg.nbh
phone off
hold volume down
tap power (keep volume held)
phone should boot to three colors screen and start to flash.
this will ONLY work with original rom.
Thanks for Help.
Same problem......
I am also stuck in the white HTC screen, (R 2.06.51.07 G 15.30.50.07U D 1.66.76641). I can flash from SD card and so i tried, using the image in the latest official RRU, no way, it doesn't fix the problem.
I didnt try any unofficial rom, i just updated to the latest rom from HTC, it worked fine. The problem occurs after i had to restart the phone while trying to connect to a xifi AP...
Any idea what i should try now ?
Thanks. You saved my day.

OMG! Thank you so much! I love you!!!!!! I was stuck on boot because my flash failed and i followed your instructions and now i can flash again!!! i was so worried and if it weren't for you i would be screwed. Really you are a HUGE help! Keep the good work up
how long did you guys have to wait till the htc rebooted after that flash? cause ive been waiting for over 30 minutes and i thought i made that wrong.
Note: ive used HSPL fist, then flashed it with energyleo.23547, but energyleo kept stuck in bootloader
now im pretty afraid of loosing manufactors warranty ...
well lads, pay attention: ive fixed that my problem all by myself. HINT: ive kept holding the buttons for to long, so the device got stock while starting up. so dont press the voldown-button for too long, maybe only for 2 seconds!
hard reset
Remember boys and girls - if you get stuck on the bootloader you can also do the following:
1. Remove the battery to turn the phone off, leave 3 seconds
2. Replace battery and hold down the vol down button and turn on your device to get into the bootloader
3. It should say 'serial'. Plug your USB cable in and it'll change to 'USB'
4. Flash your stock ROM as normal using ActiveSync method. This will also reinstall the SPL (in the case of people who can't get past the first white HTC screen). I did this after the first (and only) time I tried to do it the SD card method. Put my stock SPL back on my phone

im pretty sure that flashing over usb won't do the spl. only sd card flashing can touch the spl.
When I tried to flash (after installing HSPL) using the sd card method and it bricked I went into the bootloader and it put my stock SPL back on - hence why I said if the sd card fails

I'd be inclined to suspect that In your case the spl was flashed during the failed sd card flash, so was already stock spl when you then flashed the stock rom over usb.(which of course being stock doesn't need hspl )
Hi Guys
I'm having the same problem, however, I bought the phone second hand. My question is how do I find out what my stock ROM is?
cheers

you download HSPL, run it, and if your spl is anything else than 1.42 it will give out an error and no harm is done
Hey
Thanks for replying. Do I get the stock ROM from the HTC website, is there a way to get it as a .nbh file as I am currently on a mac.
thanks

White Screen and HTC logo
I have found a similar problem, I flashed the HSPL rom following the instructions to the letter in the NOOB section.
Restarted my HTC HD2 having hard reset, and it would start and begin the installation and setup, once the setup completes, the software requests a soft reset, at this point my phone hangs on the white boot up screen with the HTC logo.
What am I doing wrong?
Stuck on White HTC Screen after ROM update
Why is it that, having run the HSPL update on my HD2 and checked that its successful, does my phone hang on the white HTC boot screen when it reboots after setup.
I have installed the energy rom, the most recent version. It still hangs at the boot after the rom does the soft reset...
Help please?

I have now installed a 'Leo_RADIO_15.31.50.07U_2.07.51.05 **(from HTC **???? )' then re-installed the Energy Rom, but still getting stuck at the white boot screen after the first reboot, so I have now done a hard reset and the phone still hangs...
Any more ideas?
i got this phone 1 day, and it's already dead
i installed hspl, and a custom wwe rom, it was working fine. But then it froze on me, when i tried to start opera, it said it was clearing the memory or something. When i rebooted the phone, at first it refused to boot, froze at the pink circle.
now i got it to boot a couple of times, and HTC sense is mostly gone, i get to see an ugly Win M version... I cant get the phone to connect, so i can reinstall another firmware ... what can i do?
It's just a pretty expensive flashlight now.

Try flashing it by SD card method
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the LEO Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh
4. Copy the LEOIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Reset the device while pressing the volume down button to enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
I tried
and failed.
I uploaded the nbh from your signature to my freshly formatted Fat32 microsd card
the tricolore screen came up. It said something about reading, and some digits at the top (005 something), back to the tricolore screen.
and now its been like that for about an hour... (PB81100 HX-BC

wow, i feel like a fool for not thinking about this
thanks a lot, works like a charm again!
no worries.
when you look in bootloader, if it says spl x.x.hspl then you can flash anything from usb. if it said x.x.0000 then it would only accept roms specific to your model/region/provider.
its worth remembering you can flash hspl from the bootloader screen too.
oh and when it was sticking at the pink circle,,,,,, almost certainly because you hadn't flashed a compatible radio.
if it happens again go into bootloader and flash the radio, just like flashing a rom.
i think giving your hd2 a hard reset will make it work again.
I did exactly the same thing. Have flashed ROMs before on other devices and foolishly plunged straight into to flashing my HD2 without reading the instructions carefully; i.e. check the battery level is >50%, ensure you have HardSPL'd and flash the correct radio version first.
I tried Energy ROM Build 21907 and had it working for a while until I powered off and then tried to switch on again and it froze with a pink circle showing. I had checked the radio version (2.04) but had not heeded the warning to use 2.07.50 or higher, avoid 2.xx.51 like the plague etc. Just plain hadn't followed instructions.
Doing a soft reset doesn't work.
Doing a hard reset doesn't work.
Hitting one's head against a wall does not work.
Following samsamuel's advice about plugging in after hard reset does work:
- Have your Windows PC ready but don't plug in the device yet
- Download CustomRUU.exe and the correct radio file
- Rename the radio file to RUU_signed.nbh
- Hold the device's Vol Down and Power keys, let em go and do a hard reset
- You'll see the tricolour screen and you should see HSPL near the top and "Serial" at the bottom
- Plug in the USB cable and "Serial" changes to "USB"
- Run CustomRUU on your PC and follow the instructions
Thank you very much, samsmuael, for rescuing me on this occasion.
I had a frightnening experience in the same vein today also.....
Decided to go for my first flash........which turned into 3...
Anyway I flashed an energy rom...........
Then a cleanex which left me unable to connect via activesync........
Had a quick panic.........got on here for some answers and found something about flashing via cable from bootloader.......... Panic over
Flashed to another energy rom.......... all is well again......
Only problem is what to flash next........
So guys I need help! I can't boot my phone! I can boot in to HSPL but that's about it. I can't boot in to MAGLDR. I tried running a Task29 but it just stays at 0%.
I've tried flashing MAGLDR and it's the same as the Task29... stays at 0%. Has my phone been bricked? Any help appreciated. I've tried flashing a stock ROM from SD and renaming the .nbh to LEOIMG.nbh but the first time I did it and it says to press power to confirm you want to flash it the phone just rebooted to the WSOD. Seems as though that changed my HSPL to HSPL.2.08.0000 now too instead of .HSPL. now all I get when I have the SD card in and boot to HSPL then when it boots to the grey coloured screen it just says "Loading...".
Is there anyway I can get my phone working again? Thanks.
Try to flash WM 6.5 1.66 version (or atleast the one below the most recent) trough SD method.
My kid brother had the same thing, the newest ROM (from HTC website) didnt work cause it gave a error.
If you keep getting some red error status while doing the SD flash, it might be bricked.
After a few tries with the SD method we were able to flash stock spl and such, but still the phone wasnt oke (but oke enough to send it for repair).

Just so you know, when you start a stock rom sd card flash, the first thing it does is reset the spl, THEN it tries to flash the rom, two seperate events, (the phone even restarts in some instances between changing spl and starting the rom flash) so even if the flash fails, or doesnt even start, theres a good chance spl has already been removed.
(side note for info - This situation is most likely to happen when flashing stock from sd card when hspl is installed, because the rom doesnt get rejected at first because hspl is there, but after the spl is reset and teh phone reenters bootloader, it no longer accepts the rom, because hspl is gone, so the phone is temporarily locked up with no hspl and no working rom.)
So, you now have stock spl 2.08.0000 and a non working rom.
enter bootloader,
run hspl (new hspl4 link in my sig)
choose 2.08.hspl
re enter bootloader
flash magldr (just to be sure its there)
if you need to, make sure your radio is high enough version (if you have tmous forget this, if its a regular it needs to be in the 2.10.50 or so version or higher)
from power off, start the phone, as the very first splash screen changes to the black magldr screen, start pressing power, untill the menu items appear.
Job done.
Oh and the line "....I have the SD card in and boot to HSPL ......" makes no sense. You are booting to bootloader. its still bootloader whether it has spl or hspl. Your terminoligy will confuse you.
Well I highly doubt I did. Maybe it just updated the HSPL but that's all. Didn't even get rid of MAGLDR on my phone! When I held in the reset button, it booted straight to MAGLDR.
Maybe mine was just a fluke!
lol thats what i said, in a long winded way. when you run an sd card flash the first three or four seconds it loads the spl from the rom on the sd card, thus removing hspl.
(or in your incorrect words 'Maybe it just updated the HSPL but that's all' - correct, it 'updated' HSPL back to stock SPL)
but hey,its sorted, so no problem.
It's still HSPL though? It's just the previous version that's .0000 instead of .HSPL or am I completely off? Do I need to flash HSPL.2.08.HSPL again or can i just keep it .0000?
Lol I'm stupid. Sorry, realise now what you're saying now that I've looked at the SPL properly. So do you suggest I flash HSPL now?
Sent from my FutureShocks HD2 MIUI using XDA App
Lol,
One simple rule...
If it ends 0000 it is STOCK
If it ends .hspl it is hspl
Yes, run hspl.exe again, choose 2.08.hspl
Haha well atleast I've learned now. I don't even read the first part which just said SPL. Fail. If I flash HSPL again do I need to flash MAGLDR again?
Sent from my FutureShocks HD2 MIUI using XDA App
possibly, cos teh same sd card flash that wiped hspl could have also removed the second splash screen memory area, which is where magldr lives. deopends how far thru the flash it got before it stopped.
easy to tell tho, let it boot, if you see the black magldr screen appear when the first boot screen vanishes,, quickly press power and it will stop there and show the magldr menu, if it hangs without showing teh magldr screen, magldrs not there, and you pull the battery, into bootloader, flash magldr.

You will still need 2.08.hspl if you want to reinstall or update your magldr version at some stage. It wont work on 2.08.0000.

Sounds to me like you arent rpessing quick enough. keep holding power from the moment you power on if it helps.
the instructions are to hold power (end key) right from turning on until magldr menu appears, but for me, i watch the first splash screen, and just before it ends (6-7 seconds) only then do i press and hold the end key. do not let go of the end key until teh menu appears, else it will continue to boto the rom.
Oh so all you wanted to know is if I can boot to MAGLDR menu? Yeah, I can lol.
Wait a minute, you can't have MAGLDR unless you have HSPL (HSPL3 2.08) if you have just reflashed HSPL, That means you still don't have MAGLDR, unless you have flashed it already in which case you still don't have a working ROM (Android or Windows 7) until such time you chose an Android or Windows 7 build. confusing?
Here is the sequence of flash events.
1. HSPL3 - 2.08HSPL
2. MAGLDR 1.13
3. Flash your chosen ROM.

First off your HD2 is not bricked. If it wax bricked it would not so much as turn on.To save your HD2 do one of these two things.
Download the official update from T-Mobile.com. Look behind your battery to find your IMEI number to enter. Next make sure your HD2 is good and charged I know this is hard as it will not boot but just let it charge for a good while as you do not want the battery to die during either method of flashing. Now while the phone is off hold the volume down button down and press the power button but keep holding the volume down button down. When the phone is in bootloader(multicolor screen) connect your phone to the computer via USB and wait for Serial in the white bar of the bootloader screen to change to USB and for your computer to show it recognizes your phone then right click on the update package and click run as administrator and run the update utility. This should flash the stock ROM but if you have MAGLDR you will loose it and if you have HSPL you might lose it.
Now the secound option you have is to right click on the update package and click on view or explore wich ever one you see and find the RUU_signed.nbh file and rename it to leoimg.nbh or LEOIMG.nbh as it is not case sensitive. Then take a 500MB to 4GB SD card that is formated with Fat 32 and place it into a USB SD card reader and plug it into a USB port on your computer. If you are not sure about the format. Go to "My Computer" and find the card reader, it will be a removable drive or a mass storage device (make sure to make a back up copy of the intior contents of the SD card first as it will wipe the card clean)and right click on it and click format and then Fat 32. Copy the leoimg.nbh file to the root of the SD card. After coping it to the SD card place the card in your phone and put it into bootloader the same as mentioned above but keep the volume down button held down until you see searching on the phone screen and then let the volume down button go. You will have to press the power button to comfirm it. This should flash your phone to complete stock as it will remove MAGLDR, CWM, and HSPL if you have it on your phone.
There is other options to but I highly suggest going back to stock and then starting back over again as to me it just simplifies things some. Also seeing as you have a T-Mobile HD2 do not flash a radio that looks like any of these 2.04.50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any radio like this 2.xx.51.xx as any of these radios will brick a T-Mobile HD2.

Yes you can reflash a Andriod ROM if you go back to stock but you would have to flash HSPL 2.08 again, flash MAGLDR 1.13 again, and CWM if you want to use it.
If you just want to flash another Andriod ROM just turn your HD2 off and then turn it back on button keep the power button down until the main menu of MAGLDR comes up (that is if you already have MAGLDR on your HD2) and then follow the instructions from the Andriod ROM on how to flash it using MAGLDR or CWM if you have it.
If you do not have HSPL and MAGLDR on your HD2 uou will have to flash both to hour HD2 befor you can flash a Andriod ROM. To flash these do this but your HD2 into bootloader (muticolor screen) and connect it to your computer via USB cable and wait to see USB in the white bar of the bootloader screen and that your computer recognizes your HD2 then flash wichever one you are wanting to flash. You will have to do this for every individual thing you want to flash. You also need to flash HSPL 2.08 first then MAGLDR 1.13 and then CWM if you want it.

No you have to have MAGLDR to install Android. Try installing Clock Work Mod (CWM) and use it to install your Andriod ROM. Just do a search for Clock Work Mod for HTC HD2. Then read and follow the instructions in the ROM thread to use CWM to flash it.
i have a few problems when trying to install any rom using magldr.
First, whenever i boot up to the magldr screen, sometime it will freeze and i have to take out my battery.
Second, When installing a rom, it gets stuck at "the booting android from nand 123456 go go go" screen.
What could be wrong with my magldr, i already tried to re-installing it and it still acts up.

Take your SD card out of your HD2 and then boot it up and see if you still have the problem. If it is gone you need to back up your SD card and do a full wipe of it and reformat it using your computer and a SD card reader. Format it Fat 32.

Run a task 29 on your HD2 then reclash MAGLDR and see if this helps it should, unless you have some bad boot sectors.

Well you can not fix bad boot sectors persay witbout replacing the NAND memory chip which acrually requires the replacment of the intior mainboard of your HD2. Because you can not just replce the chip cause of the wah the mainboard is made. Wht you can do is use a JTAG device and some special software to go in and mark those sectors as bad so the phone will no longer try to use those sectors.
I'm trying reinstall WM6.5 on my HTC HD2 from MAGLDR V1.13.
I've downloaded the stock rom from HTC website and im trying run the installer but it fails it cant seem to pick up my phone as a USB connection.
I tried the bootloader way but it always get stuck at the installation part at 0%.

i had came across this issue last week.
when in tri-color mode, re-install hspl 2.08 and then magldr 1.12/1.13.
then try installing wm6.5.
This worked in my case.
Check if it does in urs too...
Al the best...

after the radio, I cannot download magdlr, it stops at 29%.. Or sometimes doesn't do anything!!
I'd suggest task 29 to wipe the phone completly. Then make sure you have the correct stock rom for your phone. EG if you bought a EURO o2 HD2 then you need to have the o2 3.14 stock rom. Extract the .nbh file from the .exe.
Use SD Formatter to format your SD card, this will wipe all windows 7 partitions.
Then copy .nbh file and place it on the sd card, then boot into boot loader (tri colour screen) and follow on screen instructions. A grey screen should appear at this point.
This will remove Hard spl and restore WM 6.5 and also restore the first of the two splash screens and the radio back to factory settings and will also restore your warrently as well.

Thanks for this info, will try it. Have you got a link to task 29? Is it a software?
No but it is all over XDA. I think you'll find it someware on the WM 6.5 thread. If that doesn't work your nand will be stuffed but it has allways worked for me!

Yes, even i suggest you the "flash via micro sd card" method becoz it works in worst cases. and follow all the steps sequencely. good luck
Task29 gives an error 290 and doesn't complete.
Im getting frustrated... What can i do next
task 29 now wipes my phone but everytime i flash a new rom is crashes at 9% or 10% and then i get the error 290.
i downloaded the stock rom for my phone... argggh what can be done?
thanks
Sounds like nand is dead. Looks as if you will have to return it to get it fixed!
i must agree with ghost ... sounds like you flashed the poor baby to death :'( sad sad day! and very rare i might add!

cannot believe i messed it up.......
know where i can send it for repair? will HTC cover it under warranty? will they be suspicious?
anyone? do i need to ring my phone contract people or go directly to HTC?
Thanks
Depends how old it is. It may need to go directly to HTC to get it fixed.
I read somewhere that error [290]: Invalid Command - the ROM Update Utility has encountered communication errors during the update process.
Try changing the usb cable/connect directly to usb port (not usb hub) if you still want to use usb for flashing.
I always use the sdcard method when there's a problem flashing via usb. Rename RUU_signed.nbh (extract from stock rom exe package) to LEOIMG.nbh and copy the file to sdcard (sdcard MUST be formatted as FAT32 - use HP format tool). Put sdcard into the phone and boot into bootloader mode ... see if it works ...
