[Q] Latin American Tab Different Digitizer? - Galaxy Tab General

Hi,
I have a GT-1000N Tab
I cannot flash Roto's JME because I loose the touchscreen, I suppose the drivers are different from european or usa Tabs.
On Samfirmware there is a JM2 for my Tab, but I don't want to end up with a signed bootloader.
My current firmware is P1000NUBJJ3, on Sam's the newest is P1000NUBJM2
I'd prefer to use Roto's. Do I flash Roto's with NUBJM2 kernel and modem?
If not, do I just delete the boot.bin and Sbl.bin from P1000NUBJM2?
On that .tar there is also a hidden.rfs and a .pit Do I leave them in?
Thanks!
Edit: One reason I want to use Roto's is to use XEU CSC

I haven't tested that configuration, but it may work. Theres no harm in trying.

The hidden.rfs may contain extra programs that you may want, but you can just remove it, as well as the pit, boot.bin and Sbl.bin.
If you have done a Roto Backup, perhaps you can post your boot.bin and Sbl.bin here for me to look at.

Thanks for stopping by Roto, I really admire all the work you are doing with the Tab!
I opened the hidden.rfs with UltraISO and it only contains data for some dictionaries, nice to have but not essential.

I did do a Roto Backup, it saved me from having a Tab without touchscreen , btw would the same procedure work on a Galaxy S?
Attached are the stock boot.bin and Sbl.bin
Are all the hardware drivers in the zImage or are some files from the rest of the rom needed?

how to flash ddjp6 official indian froyo via odin?

i am asking this question bcoz i have flashed the official froyo for asia dxjpa
and the flashing way via odin was different cozz pit file 513 is used for flashing it.
so i wanted to know the right flashing way for ddjp6 froyo .. via odin
i downloaded the firmware ddjp6.. and it contains only one .tar file
so i just wanted to know the perfect flashing method
please dont advise me to do it through kies...
thanx
You can flash DDJP6 via odin the same way you flashed DXJPA without using any .pit file and it will work. As I have also flashed the other asian versions without using any .pit file (no .pit file recommended for firmwares with only one file on sam firmwares).
So How does the pit file affect anything ? I flashed DDJP6 with the .803 pit file. I take it that shouldn't be an issue ? Also, is the boot Galaxy "S" animation from the pit file ? I don't like the one I got from the asian froyo with the disjoint s... Does the Indian froyo have that too, or the one from eclair ?

Not sure about what exactly .pit file does but had a problem installing DXJPA earlier with .803pit (failed to flash) then tried with .513 and worked well.
haven't noticed the boot animation.
Did u move from 2.1 or unofficial 2.2?
i have a question..
if there is one tar file, should i put the file in just pda or PDA,PHONE AND CSc and then flash?
PDA for single tar file
jje
Check my signature if you want PDA MODEM & CSC seperately for DDJP6.
You can also try to use XXJPY PDA, JP6 MOEDEM & CSC.

I clarification after flashing with Odin will all the setting & data reset to factory.
Or will all the personal data, Games, applications will remain.
One more thing if the Re-Partation in Unchecked (Not selected). Will the Odin keep my data as it is on the phone or it will reset to factory settings.

thanks..
so if i Root in the current jp6 im running, and it was updated by KIES, can i flash without removing the root by using ODIN?
And also i need to know possible best options to flash official firmwares.

[Q] Flashing information

I am on jm6 and decided to go jmc. i downloaded the jmc.
Q1: is can i delete boot.bin and cache.rfs from it and insert dbdata.rfs and then flash?
Q2: ofcourse with the permission of rotohammer can i change factory.rfs of the original package with the factory.rfs from the roto-jmc package?
Anybody ???
Ok here is the deal if you dont answer my questions i will not stop asking new ones
Q4: i see that csc file from jm6 contains cache.rfs and phone contains modem.bin but pda of jmc has all of them so can we put jm6 modem.bin and cache.rfs in pda tar and flash like that in odin or the opposite can we extract modem.bin and cache.rfs from jmc and flash them seperately by tar ing them indivicually?

Flashing just modem with Odin

Hello
I'm trying to flash the jpu modem on stock jpy since I had good results with it. I don't really know where to get it correctly. I've found a jpu modem in the doc rom thread, but it's some zip file, i took the modem.bin file out and just made a TAR out of it. seems other modem tar files include just that.
But i don't know if it's correct.
And I'd welcome info on how to flash it, should I put it in the phone field?
Since this is a great way to brick a phone, I'd like some advice on this matter.
Thank you.
You can use heimdal and just flash the modem.bin directly

Don't put it in a TAR file. Just flash the modem.bin directly. Put it in the "PHONE" box. Make sure Repartition is unchecked and no other fields are filled.
After it's done, go to About to verify it flashed correctly. (Look at Baseband)
Done, running JPU modem on stock JPY...seems to also boot faster now
Thank you.
Hi
I am new to Flashing .. Do I need to do Factory Reset even for flashing only the modem.bin file or not..pls reply.

The .zip file in Doc's thread is meant to be flashed through recovery (CWM or 2e). But I guess flashing through Odin worked for you, so all's well.

[Q] How to remove the bootloader from a ROM?

Anyone can make or write here a tutorial how to remove the bootloader from a ROM?(because of signing bootloaders)
In the thread which contains the patch for unsigning the bootloaders they mention to remove bootloaders (BUT HOW?) or flash "safe" custom ROMs
e.g.: like I want to install a STOCK samsung firmware through Odin or Heimdall, and I want to know which file(s) have to be removed.
open up the tar and remove boot.bin and sbl.bin and ur done
Do you re-tar the file?

If you are flashing with Heimdal, then just leave out the boot.bin and sbl.bin files and you'll be okay. If you want to flash with Odin you will need to open up the tar file and delete these two. Be careful with doing this as tar files modified in Windows don't always flash properly with Odin, you need to use Linux to tar the files up to be sure it will work okay. I have Cygwin on my Vista PC and use this to tar up files for flashing with Odin and it works fine. I pull all the files out of the tar then re-tar the ones I want to flash. I've done this for removing bootloader files and making mix and match files of different pda, csc and modem versions successfully.
I would be interested to know if anyone knows of a Windows program that can be used to create tar files that are flashable with Odin??

[ROM] SGH-i896 Rogers 2.2 Stock - Complete and AT&T Free

Rogers Captivate SGH-i896 Stock 2.2 [Froyo]
Flash this ROM at your own risk. I cannot be held responsible for what you do on your device.
Included in the Odin flashable file (which must be unzipped first) are:
cache.rfs
dbdata.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
modem
param.lfs
zImage
I left the boot.bin and sbl.bin out to make for a safer flash. The other Rogers 2.2 Stock ROMs posted on XDA are missing dbdata.rfs and param.lfs, leaving you with an AT&T or SGH-i897 boot screen if you flashed something with them previously. Nothing has been added or removed feature/app-wise, so flashing this ROM will give you a true and complete Rogers stock 2.2 experience.
If you are new to flashing ROMs, please read the following threads before flashing! They will answer most, if not all, of the general questions you may have.

Is it as easy to root as 2.1?
Right now I have a rogers phone, but I have onclicked stock many times, so I have the ATT boot... Running CM7, can I get boot.bin and somehow safely flash it to get the real samsung boot back?
So this comes with the 3e recovery right?
@nzahorchak
Could you please upload boot.bin & sbl.bin for the people here who know how to use them and are in need? Thanks!

2.2 has 3e recovery with signature verification, which can make it more difficult, but it is still doable. You can get 3e recovery without verification here.

No. You'll have to input them manually, or install a new rom over it, settings will be back. (They were when I installed Precision)

One question tho, only Odin version and no cwm?

Unfortunately, no. I don't think the 2.2 Kies update contained a dbdata.rfs (I couldn't find one), so I used the same file for both ROMs.

There are several tutorials on how to do this throughout xda, including this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=717322
The boot screen can be extracted from the param.lfs file, if you can't find it posted somewhere.

Then do a forum search for what you're looking for, if you haven't already. This thread is for the sake of flashing back to Rogers 2.2 stock. Unfortunately, I cannot help you further. The Rogers boot screen and animation are not in the bootloaders, hence why they are not needed in the ROM to remove the AT&T boot screens/animations.
Can't get into download mode with volume up + volume down + usb insert. Was trying to use odin to flash jf6 2.1 with 2e. Any other way to get to download mode?
f*ck never mind didn't have 3 button download, damn got to buy a jig now..
