hye everyone. I just bought HD mini used set. my battery usually last only for a day and a half(main use only for sms n call). does this battery life is normal or its too low?i want to know how long it could last if for regular usage(call and sms). if the different is too big, i want to buy a new battery. thank you for ur help
I can go for 1 to 2 days too. That's normal
Mine work for 1 and half day.
Used: phone, sms, mail (sincronise every 10 minutes), weather (sincronise every 1 hour).
I think is normal for this phone.

Ist not necessary, but it as some usefull features I don´t want to miss anymore
Usually battery life enough for one day: calls (20-30 minutes), messages, inernet apps (opera and IM) and navigation.

Hi guys! This is my first post so i will introduce myself. I am Pawel from Poland Enough for now.
I just bouhgt NIKE for my wife. This is her (and mine) first WM touch device. It has Orange version of WM 6.0. Now few questions...
Is there 6.1 WM with Polish? I could not find any. Or is it possible to upload some english 6.1 ROM and then upload only language pack (i am doing this now with my motorola maxx and previously with siemens SX1 - symbian device)?
Also can you sugest me most stable and without any extra apps ROM (that will work really fast)? My wife wont use this phone for anything beside making calls, sms/mms, listening to music and maybe for movies from time to time (during longer travels via train or bus). So no need for some uber software. Of course office mobile must be there too - she needs to know when train goes! And as you know - for student possibility to use docs, ppt or excel at any given time is priceless
Cheers!
I recommend slowing down and just using the phone as is for the time being - you won't know what you need out of a ROM until you know what's wrong with the current one, if indeed, anything is wrong with it for you.
Having said that, if it's only going to be used for sending texts and making calls, I would not bother messing with the ROM at all. As good as most of the chefs are, I always find there is something wrong with every single one I've tried on various devices. Sometimes, it's only a minor thing they forgot, sometimes, it's a big thing they forgot.
Either way, your wife will probably get tired of you constantly messing with her phone - just like mine does ;-)
Cheers,
Smiffy.
Maybe you are right So far we have noticed lack of proper alarm clock app... Free AlarmClock 0.0.4 and voila Also Solitaire is in action now... After few days of really extensive use of Dual i can say one thing - all infos about how often it crashes, hangs, drops calls etc is bu****it. We didnt noticed one single bad thing in funcionality of Nike. And by extensive use i mean morning charge and evening - 10% juice left (tops)
And how long battery lasts when you use it like normall phone (dont play with it for hours )? Overnight it dropped like 6 or 7%... So it should stay at least 4-5 days i believe (during daytime there are incoming/outgoing calls so more juice is drained)? Of course by calls i mean few minutes/day. Not few hours daily.
I think my Nike lasts about 2 days if I'm just texting and the odd calls throughout the days.
Morning all.
just thought I'd share the above with you. Been 37 hours since I charged my phone and my batery is saying 74%. I've sent maybe 50 texts, had 20 mins of phone calls, push email for about 12 hours and bluetooth about 12 hours.
The secret, is to only turn on things you need when you need them!!
I'm using PhoneAlarm to change the status of my phone depending on where I am/what I'm doing.
it's unlikely that anyone is going to phone me at 3 in the morning or send me a text (I prefer not to be woken up) so at midnight my phone goes into flight mode, and turns back on at 6.30. I don't turn the phone off as then the alarm doesn't sounds. I don't need push email when I'm at work so between 8am and 5.30 pm, push email is disabled. Also I don't need bluetooth when I'm at work (I only use BT to connect to my car)...and so on .
I can easily turn the various functions back on with a button here and there, but the batery life I'm getting far outweighs any inconvenience of having to hit a button to turn things on or off.
Just be in touch that the battery drains faster at the end than at the beginning... so i don't think you would have 37 hours -- 3/4 so you could stay 37 x 4 = 148 hours with your phone...
But i agree... the battery is cool !! I don't even imagine with a good extended battery to 2500 mAh !
Ciao
Fred
I agree it does drain faster towards the end, but still...3 days battery life is more than acceptable.
That's pretty good! The best i got was 59% after 1.5 days.. then it less than 10 hours later i was up to 10%.
Battery life is dreadful.
62 hours
54%
I've been using HTC products for a long time. Surprisingly HTC HD has the best battery.
Yet another useless topic, lots of topics about the HD battery, please use them instead of opening more topics, that would make this forum easy to search.

cheers and happy new year dude.
Wow, is that HD running on Kryptonite???
I would love to get a battery that lasts 48 hours
Maybe a stupid question, but how do you manage that the phone switches to flightmode on a fixed time?
Not useless - Add to Tips and Tricks List
I was unaware of this approach for turning various services on and off and to me it makes a lot of sense. I'm not sure I would have seen it if it had been buried in another post... I would recommend this get added to the Tips and Tricks list as its a real winner!

Is this a free program? It sounds like a good idea for me too... turn WiFi and Bluetooth off during the day Mon-Fri and during the night!
Bound to save a bit of power, and then I could hopefully charge every 2 days instead of every night!
Try using http://www.sbsh.net/products/windows_mobile_pocket_pc/phoneweaver.
It's not free but works great and has also large buttons to toggle bluetooth and wireless.
just tried phonealarm too, but somehow it will not switch profile on fixed times?
are you running it with TF3D? if so how do i enable it
also with the default skin pressing the wireless button activates bluetooth and not wireless.
Yeah i tried PA too and it don't switches alarms on time too - how did you set it up ? Also the location in extras dont work - did you get it up and running ?
I use the bugger too much to get anything over a day and a half.

PA won't work with Manila, it only works if the TodayPlugin is running.
For a better solution try SPB PhoneSuite.
http://beta.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/phonesuite/
Runs as service and works fine under manila.
As I said earlier try using http://www.sbsh.net/products/windows...pc/phoneweaver.

There are 2 options to get Phone Alram to work with Touch Flo
Option 1
Install phone alarm
Deselect Manila from the Today screen and select phone alarm
Phone alarm will now be displayed on the home screen. Go into phone laram settings, click advanced and select touch flo support.
Touch flo / today screen can now be toggled from the left soft key.
Option 2
Install SecondToday (free) to give you 2 "Today screens"
I have used option 2, but have recently changed to option 1. Both work great.
Phoneweaver is ok, but the functionality of Phone Alarm is far superior - guess it depends what you want it to do.

both options keep phonealarm running and working while TouchFlo is enabled?
People with the Htc Hd2 have probably noticed that the battery life is horrific.
As i only really need one day or use out of the phone i found a way that gave me close to 50 hourse with normal usage wich i think is very impressive for a 4,3" screen and a 1gzh Qual snapD proscessor.
what to do:
- Go to settings and home and deactivate HTC sense and ativate Windows Standars.
- Also turn the background lighting to constanly 30% and not on auto (you can go as low as you find appealing, but 30% was perfect for me)
this does mean you have to give up the Htc sense which might not be appealing for some people, but for me it was just fine.
(PS) i had the well known SMS problems aswell, but since i deactivated the HTC sense all my messages have been sendt on time and i have recived all my phone calls, i have tested this for a week now so its all confirmed!
you could get more then 50 hours because my "normal use" contains a lot of phone calling wich drains a lot of battery and even after 50 hours i still had 30% left on the battery. each time!

but I think the HTC sense is very important, it's a main fuction of HD2, I like it.
I wish the factories can develop a more capacity battery
Yes disable Sense and install SBP mobile shell. Faster and lower ram usage =)

HTC Sense checks for location, shows weather animations, clock animations. That all uses battery.
SPB is more efficient and yet more customizable.

The settings shortcut will not work in the start menu when Mobileshell is installed, just go through mobileshell's menus to get to the settings. Have you installed the disable HTC messaging cab for when you have sense disabled? This will allow you to use/go to messaging (if you disable HTC messaging you will have to install the Arcsoft MMS client in order to send/receive MMS)
I also disabled senses, because my SMS messages were not arriving?! Very strange..
But with senses off everything goes well.. I hope there will be a fix for sense soon, because it truly is a great piece of software!
(i miss the MP3 player, photo slider, facebook updates on my contact and the direct link to opera )
Disabling sense?
What are the exact steps to disable HTC sense? I goto the today settings but I cannot see any option to disable sense, all I see is two tabs one for changing the background when the device is locked and the other for adding/removing tabs! Please help!!!
Btw if I install SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 then is Sense automatically disabled? I suppose it will be since SPB replaces it but with Windows one can never be sure!

I haven't done it but I can see how it could be done.
When you get to the Today screen you mentioned, there are two tabs at the bottom left. The first says Appearance and the second says Items. Go to Items which is where you'll see all the today settings listed. It also says that checked items appear on the Today screen. The only one checked in that list is HTC Sense. Presumably, that's where you untick it.
*If anyone knows this to be wrong, please correct me. I wouldn't want to be giving out incorrect information.*
Quick one to all who have disabled sense - is HTC Keyboard still working after?
I am also considering turning of sense.
What should I setup to have windows phone 6.5 home screen? (Zune like)
Thx
Just as a matter of interest, why don't you all just try it and see if this works or that works?
If it's not to your liking then re enable sense!
I am dissatisfied with the hd2 battery, don't know what to do, mine only lasts for 1.5 day for normal usage. I think htc should work more on developing the battery technology, something like SAMSUNG phones.
About the tips and ways to have more battery life, I don't know what is the point here:you deactivate all features you have in a bloody expensive phone, and make it like a Nokia 1100 to have more battery? u can simply buy a Nokia 1100 and save ur money while you enjoy 4-5 days battery life!
What I am saying is that if we have to deactivate htc sense, weather animation, location services and make the screen less bright to use the phone for 3 days, then why should I buy a phone which has these capabilities?!
I want a long time battery, while I wanna enjoy my device. I am waiting for a better battery to be offered from htc, something like 9-cell battery for laptops.
1.5 days is fantastic for a smartphone which provides the functionalities of a laptop
id be happy if mine would last the day instead of charging it when i get home at 5pm

Very nicely said with Nokia 1100 example... nothing to add here buddy!!!
I disabled data connection overnight (BsB Tweaks, then shut off data connection) and I only lost 5% battery for 6-7 hours. Turned it on in the morning and barely used the phone and I've lost over 50% in about 11 hours. Only used about 10 minutes of talk time, no web checking. I have outlook and hotmail configured. MS Push was disabled. I have the Docs Indexer disabled installed.
To my sudo-quick-test it seems 3g is killing the phone.
to save battery life i off all the auto updates. i update 'em manually, with this and my ROM/Radio i can last 2 days average and 3 days max
I also thought battery life was a disaster then read in some post that bluetooth was draining batt, tried to turn it of and voila. before it was beetween 0-10% when i was home by 5 and now it is 35-50%.
I don´t like that i "can´t" use the things that is availabale on phone because that´s why i bought it. I had it for about four months now and it feels like nothings ever gonna happen that´s solves the problems, this, the sms prob and that it freezes is my things that can driving me insain, but somehow i just love it anyway
i thing people have to understand that battery technology has not really been developed or improved recently.. so you're using a high tech device with a old/low tech battery, so unless they make the battery big/fat, ur probably only gonna get a day or so of battery life. good example is hd2's standard n extended battery. the extended battery is somethin like 2000+ mAh, but its fat. spoiling the sleek look of the hd2. and bout samsung, its probably cause their screens are bit smaller n the batteries are around 1500mAh compared to hd2's 1230mAh? One thing i dont understand though is why the hd2's standard battery couldnt be buffed up just a tiny bit to at least 1500mAh..
When I flashed CleanEx it improved my battery time. Touch X-Treme did the same thing. Also you should deactivate all auto-update stuff.
Then it could be that your HTC HD2 lasts a day
I have been using cooked roms on my blackstone for a while now. However, my concern from the beginning has been that these are battery drainer.
I bought it second hand and it had call time of around 60 Hours both IN and OUT.
On 6.1, I used internet very little, but I used to call a lot and listen to music as well for about 2-3 hours a day. In that OS, it used to go up to 3 days.
Then I came into the world of xda-developers and things changed . The battery didn't last for more than a day and a half with the usage I mentioned above. That prompted me to buy new battery.
Since then, On cooked ROM's, I leave my email check for every 15 minutes and weather to an hour. With this usage it hardly last for 2 days on the new battery and I hardly make a call!!
If I make calls, use Opera, it would die in literally half a day.
Can people share their experiences about battery life and cooked roms etc???
I really dont want to go back to 6.1 and I want to keep using 6.5 but the battery issues are really annoying now.
I have used pretty much all the ROM's (Energy, PQD, XannyTech, KWBR, blackStonehenge) with same usage and all of them have yielded same results so it's not ROM based...
Cheers.
I'm using the last ROM that Dutty made for us. With 6 email accounts checking every 15 minutes and an Outlook push account, blue tooth enabled and sometimes an hour of phone use. My phone can't go more than 4 hours on a charge.
Thanks for the heads up. In a few hours I´m getting my own Blackstone with a stock OS. I was already set to change the ROM but with this post will have to delay it a bit until a fix can be found.
Oh, it wasn't that bad at first, it could go a full day. It's just as you add programs and then remove them things get progressively worse. I really need to flash it again to clean it up but I hate having to set everything up again. I'm not a habitual flasher

Luckily, I have found one.
All you need to do is stop using your mobile on 3G.
I have tested it on Energy ROM. With 3G switched on, it lost around 25% of charge in a day on email check for every 15 min and weather for half hour. without any calls.
With 3G switched off and the rest of settings, the charge had only gone down by 12% and that included a couple of calls.
To be honest, I dont think you really need 3G unless you are using internet a lot. Even then, you may switch it on and switch it back off.
I will be trying the new MaxSense UI as well to see whether that helps the battery or not!!
I have used a HTC TouchPro-1 with pleasant satisfaction for its OS stability. I would only need to reboot perhaps once a week or after two weeks.
Then I had a HTC TouchPro-2 with much dissatisfaction for its OS stability. I would need to reboot perhaps once a day or after two days.
For the past couple of months I have been using the HTC HD2; I am very delighted with its stability. It seems I DON'T EVER NEED TO REBOOT. (OK, so I reboot about once a fortnight but mainly out of good intention rather than necessity.)
...
Are other users of the HD2 finding excellent stability?
1) How often do you need to soft reboot?
2) What are the causes leading to the need for the reboot?
i generally reboot every 2-3 weeks unless something forces me to reboot like uninstalling a program.
the cause i usually battery drain, battery just for some reason stats dieing really quickly. so i reboot and she's good to go again.
and so you have an idea of usage.
i drive for a living and use my hd2 as my gps (up to 10hrs a day)
i usually play atleast an hour of games, while waiting.
make around 20-50 phone calls a day
send around 100-150 text daily (i'm addicted)
use the wifi early in the morn and night for about 1 hour
it is my alarm clock and calender.
read comic books on it every now and then
check the news & weather daily
I reboot automatically every week after SPB backup, softreset after install of a new app and thats it.
Once in a while my HD 2 hangs under special circumstances: in my office, when HSPA reception is blocked in a certain room and mail, calendar sync and weather panel call for an update simultaneously it won't wake up anymore and battery is drained quickly. Batt out and in solves the problem then.
Otherwise it is superstable now ( at low ambient temperatures). in hot summer sometimes freezes because of high batt temp more than 45 degrees centigrade.
Right now I have to reboot more often because of this time sync problem .... grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Apart from upgrading Radio ROMs (now on 2.12), the ROM (to 1.66WWE from T-Mobile UK 1.48), Installing software (which require rebooting) and the occasional flat battery (my fault), then I have only had a couple of resets since I got my phone in February.
i soft reset daily but thats mainly because Im constantly tweaking the hell out of this thing.
Id imagine it could easily go at least a week though if I could leave it alone.
Not like thats gonna happen though.
