The LED show only few seconds and it shut down after that
I think it's battery/something about battery's connectors, 'cause if I disconnect the battery and plug in usb connector the red led shows up for 4-5 second, like your case...

hey
i almost fixed the white screen (i could see the screen and use the touch) on my hermes but suddenly when i was turning on the deviece after putting the bat my hand shaken while i was handing the bat and the device turned off when it had just went on
and since then it have never turned on the bat was 30%
so i charged it while the device is off
the led is not working as the screen is off but the wall charger led showed that it was charging after a night of charging it also did't turn on
what can i do ?
could this be some thing in the screen or its conector ? ( but before the device was playing sounds when it wakes ,now nothng at all)
thanks In Advance
If there are no LEDs showing when you plug in the charger, then you probably blew the onboard fuse when you wobbled the battery. The fuse is not a regular fuse, but a component soldered to the motherboard. You can see it by looking under Hermes on my site linked below.

Could you check if the keyboard keys do work when you try to turn it on? (lights up when pressing after a minute or two.) That's just happening quite often. Solution: Replace ribbon cable.

no nothing lights up at all , in adtdtion i used to her sounds when the device works !
if the fuse does not work will the bat charge ?
because the battery charge when i put the charger in the wall !

I would have thought not as the fuse would cut of the charging circuit/battery detector circuit. (However, I have not tested that.
How do you know the battery is charging?
The most common cause of not turning on combined with no LEDs showing is a blown fuse - BUT it could be:
1
Fractured solder joint(s) between battery connector gold pins and the motherboard
2
Faulty battery
3
Other circuit fault. Example - failure of the flexcable between the two halves of the device. This cuts off both screen and LEDs.
Mike
thanks for response
the wall charger got a led in my device so that i can know when does it charge the led turns into red and when the bat is ful the led backs green
so i charged the bat !
thnx
i have one more question if i remove the screen conector at all from the main board does the device turn on normally ?
or i=the screen should be conected ?
Have you tried buying a new battery? If I remember correctly, they're pretty cheap (less than $15, closer to 5).

My Hermes has the keyboard lit up without the screen on, so I assume it boots without it.
Screen needs to be connected so you can see if it turns on normally.... Otherwise, how will you know?

Hi Folks,
My HTC HD2 Android not getting charged either by a wall charger or usb via my pc... i dont what happened suddenly it got turned off due to low battery and when i pluged it for chrging its not showing orange LED notification of charging. when its off and plugged in Orange LED blinked once and Phone got switched on. And when its connected to PC for abt 3 mins it will show charging and after that it shows discharging and battery drains when it shows it discharging . pls help me out coz i dont want to loose my Leo .
Thanx in advance,,,,
Check the pins at the phone which connects to the battery. Sometimes they are deformed and this cause the charging/not charging problem.
But... in this case I don't think this is the problem, because this problem should not affect direct charging from usb cable.
Anyway check them just for sure!
Thanks VDodi

Best way is not to let it run out
However, normally it will have enough charge left once it dies to boot up far enough to start charging. If this is not the case, then you have to cut open a USB cable and use the red and black wires to charge the battery. I have not had to do this and am unsure as to how to do it but there are tutorials. It seems simple enough.

Consider, as was previously suggested, a cable connection issue.
While you do not currently have the luxury of looking at your status icons, I have found that, on occasion, when I plugged in the phone to charge, the status icon indicated a USB connection, rather than a charging icon. Unplugging the cable and re-inserting the cable fixed it.
Note that new high quality cables can exhibit the same issue.
You have nothing to lose... Give it a shot.
Good luck.

Take out battery, plug chopped up USB cable into wall charger, use fingers to hold red to + black to -, count to twenty, battery in phone, phone into bootloader, real charger cable into phone and wall charger, leave 10 mins, reboot into android. (Can charge all the way in bootloader, but it seems slower than when android is running.)

By 'tutorials on how to do this' I basically meant your posts
As previously said if you're using magldr you need to be booted into Android before the phone will charge. You can try to warm the battery up in your hands to squeeze the last bit of power out of it to boot up. Or there are standalone hd2 battery charges you can buy from eBay that charge your battery outside of the phone, they're pretty cheap.

As Samuel said you can charge phone in bootloader. Just try!
Had to buy external charger
item # M00366 this charger was cheap has led's that change from red to blue as the battery charges and has a usb port so you can charge a battery in phone at the same time.
I'd been alternating tween an extended battery and the original when my HD2 started discharging while plugged in. same batteries and nearly a year of typhoon's excellent ROM progression then wham dead batteries....
Nexus just died on me last night, out of nothing at all.
Plug the charger into USB, out for a bath and N4 give me a welcome with solid RED notification light. Unplug the charger RED light gone, but phone won't have any response no matter what key combination i press.
No fastboot, no bootloader, no charging animation, just a piece of brick with RED light when connected to USB power. Have tried to remove the battery connection and reconnect but yield the same.
Anyone have similar case? All the search i found is blinking RED light, unlike mine with a solid "RED mean STOP"
Plug it into the mains and let it gain power for a bit.. Battery might be completely depleted

Have leave it charge overnight, however still the same when i woke up this morning.
One thing i forget to mention, when i unplug the battery pin and put in USB cable, the same solid RED light appear, wondering is this having to deal with battery not receiving/release charge

AC, original charger.
This is so weird that i have idea what have went wrong, worst case scenario it should have boot up to bootloader even if kernel / ROM went wrong, but haven't flash anything new for the past few days.
Replaced the lcd, but before this it was left to totally drain.. now when it's plugged in to the wall it wont charge, doesnt warm up, doesnt pop up on my PC when plugged in.. I have the strangest thought the known issue with charging is happening but because it doesnt have enough power to get to the bootloader i cant force it to power off...
Will connecting a spliced usb cable to the + and - points on the battery and plug it in to the mains work to get some juice into this battery? i know it works for old nokias etc/...
cheers

In most cases it will work. Are you sure your USB port wasn't a part of collateral damage when you were replacing your LCD screen ? If you have a multimeter, just check the connection in the microusb. Probably the charging of the n7 battery may awaken it from its slumber, what else you can try is to use jumpers to connect another battery that you know that is fully charged with almost the same voltage and try to boot up the n7?! Maybe that will help ?

I experienced this twice already. It happens when I was gaming and my phone was overheating and was getting lowbat. It did turn off and didn't turn on or charge.
What I did was take my phone apart and remove the battery connector from the main board. Put the charger while the batt is still disconnected and the phone showed battery logo on screen. Then connect the battery connector and it begins to charge.
Disassembling the phone wasn't easy but I managed anyway. Just be very careful while opening it.

You experienced the same problem like me? Red indicator blinks while trying to charge when phone off and not charging when phone is off? Before this my phone was working fine although it was not charging but all functions were ok.
So suggest me...should i do it your way?

Yes, the led just blinks on and off while the phone is off. But the first time it happened, it wasn't even blinking. That was the time I took it apart.
Maybe try first to press all buttons and see if it boots in EDL or recovery. Or let it stay on charge a bit longer. Have you tried other wall chargers? Just the regular chargers, not quick charge. The time it was blinking for me, I managed to boot it to twrp and charge it on this state.
