Am I the only one that seems to be having a major issue with this? It comes up more with the added on screen keyboard in 1.5, it seems.
The corners of the G1 screen do not respond to touch at all, and I find myself always having trouble hitting the keys on the corners of the virtual keyboard. Applications that require you to touch any corner of the screen with precision (ie tic-tac-toe) are annoying as well because it's difficult to get it to work.
Is there any fix in sight or is it a hardware limitation?
definitely a hardware limitation.
hardware limitation means: normal hardware limitation or limited due failure????
I only experience this problem with the right edge of my phone. The top, left, and bottom don't have any problems.
Touch also seems to be less sensitive when the phone is rested flat.
My phone has the sensitivity problem on the edges too (mostly on the right and top sides).
For example, it's almost impossible to drag an icon to the left screen, because it doesn't seem to reach the threshold area.
The protective screen (boxwave anti-glare) made the problem even worse, but since it's much more comfortable than the glass, I won't be taking it off.
The easiest way to test all this is to use the whiteboard application.
So, I ask the developers: Please don't place the buttons on the edges of the screen!
The worst apps in this regard I've seen so far were the Video player (don't remember its exact name, its seek slider was unusable), and the sudoku with the number chooser in the bottom. OpenHome's app slider has the same problem.
Does anyone have any idea how to go about removing this? Some kinda picture, or video or something. I feel like i am going to break the thing just trying to remove the card.
You have to slide the metal hinge downward, and then pull the lever mechanism outward (towards your body).
Here, at 2:45.
Hope that helps.
I had to take a mini screwdriver to mine to prop it open the first time.
for taking it out just use a finger nail to pull the slider towards the bottom of the phone and you'll feel a click and it'll pop out. To close it push it down and force it towards the top of your phone until you feel the click.
I want to open the case. It is dirty at the display along and i want to clean it.
anyone knows how to do that?
This is my repost. It's fairly easy to open more than it is to get it back together, but not that difficult either way. As I made mention.....I don't really recommend it unless it's a must so do this at your own risk.
Make sure your microsd card is removed (if you have one in) if you don't you'll surely hang up the removal of the panel or worse, break the sdcard or panel locking clips.
Start at the bottom of the tablet (by the docking slot) and with your thumbnail find a gap in the seam, insert and glide your thumbnail to the end of the tab, then do the same for the opposite side. Don't lift the aluminum panel off until you've dragged your thumbnail along the entire bottom, left and right side of the tablet.
You probably get the idea now. But once you get it started, you peel away from the bottom (docking port) to the top (sdcard slot.) Closing it is the more tasking part. Easiest way is to pull the sdcard cover all the way out, align the panel to the other half starting with the top (do not lock the panel down until everything is aligned.) Before finally pressing the panel back together, make sure you can slide the sdcard cover in and out of position with ease. If all is well, then secure the panel back in place.
But honestly, I don't recommend removing it unless you absolutely must. The locking notches are delicate and after doing it a couple times......they will give. The first A500 I got, I removed the panel 3-4 times because it was all trial and error for me getting the sdcard cover realigned. After inspection, I could tell the locking edges were dulled and areas that didn't creak or have wider gaps in the seams....did.

There are a couple videos there but the above is also correct
If its not broken I would not open one of the plastic tabernacle broke on mine
I have a big problem with my Note 4. My S-Pen works when I hold it above my phone and swipe across the screen. It may sound good, but is a big problem when the apps is moved and it is impossible to write something on the keyboard. The phone is not rooted. I bought Note 4 for the sake of the pen so I would like to try being helped and get rid of the problem. Some tips?

Sorry, but I can't understand what did you mean
explain further "when the apps is moved and it is impossible to write something on the keyboard"
If you're still in time to do exchange, just bring it to the store you bought it
Sorry it's hard to describe.
When I hold the S-pen above the letters on the keyboard it writes. I don't need to push the screen. It's like use swipe but not touching the screen. When I point the S-pen at any widget for example on the homescreen the app doesnt open. It moved around instead.
Sensor of pressure is in pen, so try move it a little or slightly pull pin or try to exchange it using provided tool in box. Maybe it's stuck.
I can recreate your situation if I push pin inward with nail 1 cm above screen so it move app icon around.
Perhaps try turning the enhanced sensitivity off.
Hi, perhaps the s-pin tip has gotten locked with dust or something. Se if you can move it and unlock it.
Regards
Well, as we probably know, the phone has very small bezels and is pretty big. This means that if I attempt to use it single-handed I will inevitably randomly click things at the very edges of the screen simply because my hand somehow touches the screen.
Question is - is it possible to define some deadzones where, at least in some apps, the very edges of the screen won't work? I'm rooted and have Xposed so if there's any way of doing it, I'll go for it.
