Data throtteling - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried the midified services.jar idea and adding anothet apn but my phone is still throttled. Any away to disable throtteling? I am using cm 6.1 rc2.

Once again, you can NOT disable throttling. Your phone does not limit your speed to throttle it, the network does.

Read the thread in the following link before you continue to troll the forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=863923
To the OP, it specifically states in the first post on the above link that CM nightly builds do not take to the edit.

That thread is about defeating throttling on the phone itself. This has no effect if T-Mobile is preventing your SIM from even registering on 3g at the network end in the first place.

Hero on Boost

Ok, so I'm sorry if this is against policy but I didn't see that it was anywhere. I need to flash the hero to boost, does anyone have a guide?
It's not just some simple flash. The method I know of is not legal and not allowed discussion here

scratch.. i think they're blaming each other and is blocking some nice work out there in the thread you gave. so we can depend on the thread i posted. will you agree?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
Nah they're just *****ing because knzo is asking for thanks for writing a list of other people's work which isn't hard really is it?
The other Guy is actually putting some effort in and trying to make them simple for everyone to use, I know who'd get my thanks!!

ya sure. being a social animal we all should respect each other. never know who will be helping first when we are in trouble.
xda should put a main thread where users can interact. just out of topic thread. i meen to share.personal problems, comments, what they like/ unlike. just social matters only. no techinical matters. i hope it will make us close. what you think?

Stuff that, I'll stick to Google+ and Facebook for that thanks!!
Most not all people on here can only put together one line sentences:
My GPS doesn't work,why?
Unrevoked isn't recognizing my phone,why?
Again, my GPS isn't working heeeeelp.
Why you not help.........
Etc,etc,etc
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
ya you are correct. but why cant we think like this" the are acting like this becoze they are not close to xda. " so can we request to start a thread like that to any moderator? . i have been a member of several forums. only few have thread like that. and i hope xda should start one. as it is the largest forum in internet based on a hot os. will it be nice?
oh lol we are getting off topic...

Off-topic - Anything not related to the phones.
we just discussed about a sad thing we found on the other thread. if it become serious its a shame for us all. just thinking of some solution. thatz it. leav it. let the moderator will handle it.

Marcusant ROM v.3 and Voltage Control Issues

This probably belongs in the development thread, but I don't have enough posts yet, and I'm not gonna make a bunch of posts just to get the cred. I understand, support, and respect the rule.
I have had problems with my VC settings not sticking. Every time my screen would turn off, the governor and clock settings would change. I saw on the thread that there were others with the same problem. Not finding a solution that worked, I decided to do some exploring.
In /sytem/etc/init.d there is a script called 3cpufreq_screenstate_scaling that is overriding the VC setttings. I had to change the permissions of that file to delete it, but once done, I have had no problems with my clock and governor settings.
And, just to be upfront, I am not a developer, and this post is not a criticism of marcusant's rom. The rom is fabulous. I just wanted to experiment with my cpu settings. I did copy the file as a screenstate governor can be useful.
All that being said, follow my directions, which a incomplete on purpose, at your own risk.

Actually he should have changed the name to how to fix voltage control on MarcusantRom v3.
Its actually in the best general area however probably should be in android development or added to the Rom's OP

I was thinking that it belonged as a _post_ in the Macusant ROM _thread_. That's where the issue is being dicussed, and where it is most relevant. But, like I said, I don't have the cred, and am not going to contribute a bunch of meaningless posts just to get it.

You defenitely did the right thing... that being said marcusant has said he has been having problems with voltage control... try set cpu or cpu master...

Thanks. I'm not having any issues with VC now. The problem is definitely with that script.

Is there a Q&A section for a novice regarding the Mytouch 4G? I'm not here to offend or cause trouble. I just want to learn and get a deeper understanding because I don't have the hours to dedicate to search through thread after thread and post after post. Keep in mind that easy, obvious answers for you, might not be the case for others. Thank you for your time and attention.

Well, if you had read the OP you would've seen it doesn't work on any ics roms...now for your answer it's mainly because we have no functioning HAL module for ics.

I actually have read the OPs. It usually states that it simply isn't working, so yes, I have been aware for those that are assuming I haven't read the OPs.
And a million thanks for directly answering my question. Now I understand that it's a technicality and developing issue therefore, I don't have to chase after a solution thats way beyond my capabilities.

MyTouch 4G won't boot after factory reset

I have a LG mytouch 4G from Tmobile and I just did a factory reset on it. After I did that, it would boot up fine to the setup menu and when it would ask me for my gmail account the widget would crash and tell me to force close.
Now, it won't even do that. It boots up and sits on the Android screen. I can't even turn the phone off anymore, I have to take the battery out.
I was wondering if the phone is savable? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
1) This is the HTC myTouch 4G forum. You'd have better luck in the general forums.
2) Is your phone under warranty?

No, it's not. I couldn't find the forum for my specific device, I apologize if I posted in the wrong forum. Do I post in the general Android forum or what?
