[Q] Storage Card seemingly empty fix??

I am running a HTC Touch HD with a 8gb microSD memory card, i was watching a movie on it when it suddenly froze. Done a soft reset and found that the storage card to be empty and all programs which were installed to the mem card are also gone. However Start > Settings > Memory > Storage Card, shows 7.2gb used 700free meaning that the data is still there but the phone will not read it for some reason. I have been doing some research and have found that a lot of people have had the same problem but have not as yet posted a solution
All threads i found on this topic are from 2008-earlier and i was wondering if anybody has found a fix for this yet or whether i'll have to format the storage card completely as the computer on which i made the back-up for the card was also formatted last week in which case ill have to download all the data and programs again.

I have a similar issue, I had my Touch HD connected to the PC using the 'Disk Drive' option and accessing some files on the SD card whilst TomTom was running. I unplugged my device and TomTom complained about missing files then the app would not start again, I could not see the SD card after this on the device or my PC SD card slot so I restarted the PC and the phone.
I could then see the files on my SD card, and I could see the files on my device but it is now appearing as Storage Card 2, I had to reinstall my apps to this new location to get them working as I could not get the SD card to show as Storage Card, and there is already a Storage Card showing as well as Storage Card 2.
Weird!!!

possible corrupt sd card - help!!

i cant access my 8gb card anymore
it shows as there briefly and then dissapears. i cant access it via the pc usb cable either.
ive tried another sd card (2gig) and it works fine. so im sure the issue lies with the card.
is there any application which may overcome this issue?

I have similar problem with my 8GB card. With original (2GB) card everything is ok.
When i access certain folders the Storage Card disappears from file explorer?!?
The only way to reapear is to restart the phone.
The only solution i found is to format the card.
Then everything is Ok for couple of weeks.
After that again corruption in the file system appears.

use the panasonic formatter.. it should fix it

Apps randomly disappearing?!

This started happening after I've installed a new bigger SD card. I've copied all contents from the old SD card to the new one.
But now I have problems with USB connection as mass storage. It usually resets and after restart, there are many applications missing (blank shortcuts and apps are not in the launcher).
What is going on??

Using your phone as Mass Storage would require the SD Card to be unmounted,if by any chance you reboot in the process,your phone might not automatically mount the SD Card，and therefore you will not be able to access the apps on the card.
You may try to mount the SD card manually,still,that won't fix the icon problem instantly,you might wait or refresh a bit.

But I haven't saved any of those apps on the SD card (if it isn't done automatically somehow).

SDcard write issues

Hello everyone! I'm having a weird problem with my sdcard:
For some reason, my phone normally can't write to the sdcard. I can temporarily fix this by unmounting and mounting the sdcard from the storage settings, but after an hour or so the card locks up again and becomes read-only.
My card is a Samsung EVO 64GB formatted with ExFAT, which I've verified to be genuine. My bootloader is still locked, and the phone's been acting this way since I got it.
Any idea why this is happening?

Try a new sd card to see if the symptoms continue if they do the phone has an issue otherwise the card and official cards can go bad or and act up.

Alright, so I tested it with a 16GB card (ExFAT) and I have no problems. I also tested the problematic card in my two laptops and it worked fine... strange.
I'm applying for an exchange of the sdcard. Hopefully Amazon won't give too much trouble.

SD Card showing Unsupported and Unmounting automatically on Android, fine in laptop

My Sandisk Ultra 32GB microsd card is not getting mounted on my Moto X Play from yesterday on. It was working perfectly before that.
Problem in Detail: Yesterday when i tried to play some music only I realized that its not getting mounted. I tried removing the card and reinserting it. But it's not showing up any notification. When I went to 'Storage and USB' settings suddenly after reboot, its showing 'Unsupported' for a minute and is getting unmounted automatically.
Possible Cause: One of my friend connected my phone with USB cable to his laptop day before yesterday for transferring data. I dunno exactly whether its infected or he didn't eject it properly.
What all I Tried: Initially, I tried connecting it to my laptop using Card Reader. Fortunately, everything was fine inside the system. The file system FAT32, all the data it had, and no memory was unallocated. Afterwards I did a quick format and a complete format as well, with file system FAT32. Both didn't help anyway. Then I installed mini tool partition wizard. But haven't done anything with that yet.
Kindly help me with this ASAP.

Can you use your SD card with the phone ?I have the same problem - my sd card is not recognized by my MXP. There was some speculation that the SD card slot is not working properly or just damaged however all SD cards I have are working fine just nor with my phone.As of today there seems to be no fix to this bug.

I have tried this SD card in my friend's phone and it is working fine.
Afterwards, tried formatting the card from that phone, my laptop, (quick & complete with different names) and the tool "sd card formatter" (erased everytihng).
I even tried a factory reset of my phone.
Nothing helps. Really frustrated

try the slow format sd card option from pc...
