I am hoping some of the developers can port the 2.2 update to the hero. I was just reading that the 2.2 has support for bluetooth voice commands; something i have been dearly missing.

I don't know how reliable but the mytouch slide is getting 2.2 and since we already got a port for it. It will probably happen before any other roms. Read here Or type mytouch slide2.2

Honestly, it's guys like you- bent on trolling and pointing out the search function- that litter these forums up even more than those who don't search at all. I'm aware of the search function. I didn't post out of laziness. Clearly I couldn't find what I was looking for or I wouldn't have posted.

Thanks again for the direction, unfortunately I have a T-Mobile US Tab so I have no dialer to enter this settings menu through. Any other suggestions? Also, the low volume I'm looking to fix is in the media player- when I watch movies, other media, the volume seems incredibly low...

Install euro firmware to get the dialer and then the modem switcher to get call/3g data functionality.

I had the same issue(s) with volume. This solves the problem, with changing sound volumes in speakers and headset. Flash as stated above, your problem will be solved.

In fact the Search function doesn't work,at least on my Galaxy tab. Hen I clidk on Search this forum, a window pops open and when I click in it to bring up the keyboard,it disappears! So I go to advance search,where at least I can type something but it always says no results found!

I've been avoiding flashing my sgt, not that I don't have the ability but more-so because I don't want to have to set everything back up again.
However, after reading this thread, it's another reason to flash me thinks

I just reminded you of a forum rule, you probably didn't read. I said search in a friendly way, and did not use any insult.
I posted a volume fix for the tab, so I know if you searched, you could find it. What litters the threads are the same questions repeatedly asked by people who don't do their work, and the people who argue and insult.
If you disagree with someone, you should say so, and stay away from insults.

I agree with you. The search process is pathetic. I always go to the pc when I look for something on xda, because its so slow or non-existant on the tab.

Dude, this is the development forum for posting dev projects, not for n00b support. That is what the search button is for aswell as the Q&A subforum.
Also if you expect people to help you need to be more clear about what you have done and what you are trying to do and not just simply stick a oversized image in your topic.
Your problem is that you have powered the phone into download mode (used for flashing roms), You ahve done this by holding Volume down and power key at same time. Just hold power button until it powers down device.

Does screen capture work on SGS2? Reason I ask is I try using the same method as I did with original SGS but it just doesnt happen.

Press and hold the centre 'home' button then quickly press the power on/off button.

Home + Power button = screenshot.

Actually they are for searching to find existing answers, but that's besides the point.

[SOLVED]Alternative way to access Recovery without pressing (hold) Power Button??

My power button is showing symptom of Dying anytime soon. without having to risk an unresponsive screen after a press on power button, Im looking for another route to access Recovery WITHOUT having to long press the POWER button..

if you use clk instead of magldr, you can enter recovery using rom manager (i think? never used it myself)
dont try rom manager from magldr, it will destroy your recovery install.

if you download terminal emulator from the market and type:
SU (enter)
reboot recovery (enter)
it will also work.
But i believe you must need root access. cause you will get "operation not permitted" if you arent
Secondly, there is always ADB. If you are on windows its easy as pie to set up. just look here and then type "adb reboot recovery" and that will work as well. good luck!

Or.. if you are on MAGLDR... set it to always show the menu on boot... the option is somewhere in the MAGLDR "services" menu...

Yup that actually works! The only downside was need to input selection everytime i reboot the phone. But that's better than having to risk the power button failure!

There's no need to be rude. First of all, he clearly helps people judging by the fact that he has OVER 800 THANKS. You can hardly do that without being either a recognised dev or someone who really knows their stuff and contributes. You clearly don't understand what trolling is judging by your last post, and have you ever thought of the simple explanation that he came to the thread to give that specific advice, saw samsamuel's post and just decided to confirm that what he said would work? Now, you're undoubtedly going to call me a troll as well, despite having no knowledge of what trolling is, but I'm not. I'm simply a person with some common sense.

Hi Nigeldg, Does the "what he said lol" phrase does help in any sorts of way? To my knowledge OVER 800 THANKS user doesn't have any privileges to be on top of anyone and simply replied "what he said lol" without even trying to help. Now that really doesn't make any sense and with your common sense, I supposed that you are clearly understand the situation before you trying to help someone.
Whatever it is, I'm a happy man now with problem solved.

my friends went to aruba last month
and before they left they had problems with the passports and almost
didnt make thier flight
passports are so overrated lol

was never not cool
and a little friendly advice
add what rom you are using and wether its magldr or clk in your signature
that way help comes faster cause then we know which direction to go with

Sure no problem. But the recent HWA news makes me keep switching roms to test on. The latest one will be Tytung's CM9 HWA enable. Do check that out.

Think about it this way, people often will reply to a solution which they have tried with '+1 to this', showing that they have tried it and it works. Same goes for 'what he said lol', it shows you that that solution works. I never said that having 800+ thanks makes you better than someone, but it most certainly shows that a person is probably worthy of posting in the forums, and that they probably know what they're doing.
Anyway, glad to see you got your problem sorted out, and I realise I'm a bit behind here replying to an older post, but I just thought I should make myself clear as well
