Equalizer For Rooted MyTouch 4G - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Can anybody tell me if you can add the equalizer to a rooted MyTouch 4G without flashing a ROM which already contains it (such as Ice Glacier)? I want to keep the stock ROM but also want the equalizer. I was hopeful there was a way to only add the equalizer.
Thanks in advance,
Lance

Download the rom, you should be able to pull it through root explorer. Is it an .apk?

If you did a nand backup, then just restore it.
Thanks man I really appreciate it. But I've got another question non related about Roms can anybody recommend a good stock rom that still has hdmi and 4g I liked cm6 but it is clearly lacking these features

For a great stock based ROM, I recommend Ava's z1 or MikFroyo. If you don't want much Sense in your phone, go with VaelPak 3.0 for sure. It rocks and runs with less of HTC's bloat than any other ROM I have ran.
Also, in the future, if you want to delete apk's from the system for whatever reason, just rename them with a file explorer like Root Explorer. Just navigate to /system/app and locate the apk, like htclockscreen.apk and rename it to something like htclockscreen.apk.old. That will make it disappear until you decide you want it back, then you can just rename it back, and you're good to go. That will work with just about any app you don't want around any more. Plus it has the benefit of being easily reversible if there are problems associated with it's removal.
Thank man life saver!

I recommend Cyanogen ROMs. By far my favorite. I used them on my Magic and not on my Glacier.

Stock ROM
Here's the stock ROM link if you want to go back....

You might lose root if you go back. Iced Glacier ROM is about the same as the stock ROM without all the TMo stuff. You might like it if you are already rooted.
Hope this helps

if you are wanting the MySense back, all you have to do is download the file, store the MySense Nandroid backup on your SD card and flash it. You do not have to do everything else mentioned.
Oh ok what file would that be under and do I have to go to file manager or rom manger?

Edit#1:
DANG IT ! ! !
The Unlockr changed their "un root method", now they are telling people to do it via the PD15IMG variation.
Let me see if i still have the BONE STOCK Nandroid file they had @ home. I don't think i have it with me.
If i have it i'll upload it to my google docs and PM you the link for it. I don't want 9.2Million People accessing it.
If you cannot find the stock nandroid back up somewhere then you will have to do the pd15img restore and start from scratch.
Edit#2: I do have it, and i am uploading to my Google Docs as we speak, i'll shoot you a PM with instructions.

[Q] Question about Miui Music Player

I see a lot of posts about this player, but I am confused about which method to follow to get it on my Fascinate. I am running Superclean 2.2 w/ midnight 1.2a... I just want the newest version of Miui Music Player and the correct method/link to get it installed.
Thanks and sorry if this sounds too noob-ish....I am just now getting used to modifying my phone.
Just Download and install this apk.

Just follow the instructions, you will be fine.. most people who use this rom flashed any of the 3 gingerbread based radios and some tend to change their radio from time to time, between froyo and gingerbread...And what radio are you currently on?.. i would suggest you leave it, instead of changing it if your not experiencing any problems..the last thing i can say is that i flashed one of the radios and i was at my job and i got a horrible signal, but when i flashed the latest radio i saw signal improvement, and i never changed the radio again..
a simple way is to download the radio zip. leave it zipped. rename it PD15IMG.zip (if it isn't named that already) & drop it onto the root of your sd card (while connected to the computer, not into any folder, just onto the root). safely remove your device. CHECK MD5! while your phone is off, hold down the volume down & power buttons together, until the screen with the androids on skateboards appears (hboot). your phone is going to automatically scan for the file (the reason it needs to be named PD15IMG). it's going to ask you if you want to update, choose yes. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH BATTERY TO DO THIS. a progress bar will appear, let it do it's thing & then, once done, it'll say 'press power to reboot' or whatever. after you're done, i'd take the file off your sd, as everytime you go into hboot, it's going to scan & ask you to update.
or, if you're a visual learner, go to youtube.com, in the search bar, type mackster248. he previously owned a mt4g & made a ton of awesome tutorial vids. he did one on changing your radio.
hope this helps. good luck.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it...that sounds a lot easier then using adb...and also how would I back up or save my current radio? I have never changed it specifically...I have only flashed roms and kernels...never a radio..so I am assuming my radio should be the stock one unless they change when you flash roms or kernels...again I am fairly new to this...I rooted my own device and flashed all my roms but I have not messed with my radio and I think I need too considering that my signal has been cutting in and out...thanks so much guys!

if you're not seeing any problems with your current radio, i don't see any reason why you need to change it. but no, there's no way to "back up" or save your current radio. if you really want to try a new radio though, i would suggest the panache one, it's really good
Thank you guys I really appreciate it! I figured it out...and it was really simple..I was totally over thinking it...but yes I was having problems with my old radio...I did flash the panache radio and it works great!...panache is Canadas version of the HTC glacier right? thanks again! And also a big thanks to the mackster video that really helped!
