Why my Glacier can't pass the 1.497 mark? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Everything is super smooth. Roms, kernels, everything flash flawlessly! Every time I go past 1.497 my device freeze is there a way to deal with it? Everything is super! MFLOPS 54 quadrants over 2500
Just curious! Ha!

not every silicon is made the same. so your chip may not overclock as well as others. sorry =/

I flash the new version of grankin's kernel and it work flawlessly! Do a couple of test and run a linpack of 61 at 1.8. It freezes up over the internet. Anyway running smooth! Thanks for the response! Don't know what he did but running super!

Same thing here... mine wouldn't go over 1.5 but with grankin's latest I can go all the way up to 1.8. 3140 quadrant... woot!
As far as what he did.... he id nothing just enabled higher frequencies on stock CM kernel which was all that was needed.
He is working on yet another update so stay tuned

Vibrant bionix fusion cpu 1.2 ghz oc keeps freezing

I flashed the jac overclock, but it seems to freeze from time to time, any help?

Your phone probably can't handle oc. You should try the 1gz kernel instead.
Thanks I will try, I don't really care for the speed but oh well

Exactly. My phone's the same way. If you're looking for speed on 2.1 I'd recommend Z4 mod.

Just flash a froyo, stock kernel and it flies man.
They are daily drivers in my opinion, no real hiccups.

1.8 ?!?! are you trying to kill your phone? I don't go passed 1200 regardless of kernel, I just don't see the need to.
Faux123's kernel. I'm one of those guys you see up there : P

Haha nice. What's the performance like? And can u provide me with a link too. And I'm assuming faux kernels are compatible with the n1
Thanks for the great info
No they are not since they since they are made for another device!
Try intersectRavens kernel or wildmonks - the fastest ist redstars i think???

Uh there isn't a best or worst! There is only opinion's. But if you want the highest clocked and most stable for that speed than i would say Redstar's 1190 kernel
http://redstar.euroskank.com/2.6.37.4/LIVE_DANGEROUSLY/OC_1190/
Just my 2 cents, like a @ssh0l3 everyone has 1
The other two posters are correct--
1. Too high and phone issues, some phones can handle them, a lot can't--be careful
2. Benchmarks are useless and overrated--I have been flashing kernals for almost a year and irregardless of my benchmarks (I haven't even done one for months), the phone seems no differnet for day to day use
3. I prefer the stock one on nightlies--great volume on audio
4. IMHO
<- what he said!

Definitely don't want to blow up my phone lol
Hoping your thread wouldn't get moved by the mod lol. I posted a question on this forum before and a mod reply in BIG ass letters saying it would be moved

[KERNEL][5.10.11][2.6.32.21] Kernels from Adrynalyne (Now on Kernel Manager!)

Advertising not permitted on xda.
Well how about that, Adrynalyne, I gots me a new kernel! (4a) Keep this up and I'll have to sport ya some beer!
(I think I already owe you a case)
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
thank you kind sir!
ohh downlaods 4a FAST
Smooth as always, don't bother downloading anyone else's kernels.
Any chance I can get a 4a thats 1228mhz at stock volts like the kernel we spoke about from te.zip?
I will buy you a beer
Ughh, seriously adrynalyne?! So I was all happy with Drod's kernel yesterday, now I think I might just have to flash these kernels (b or c) to test out because they look THAT AMAZING! You developers are just aweomse for the Thunderbolt! So many options! I love it! I don't know who I like most! Thanks again
I'm loving the b kernel. Nice work! thanks!
A couple questions before I make my decisions. Is 4a the follow up for Kernel2.0 from the previous thread that was posted (i am currently using adryn kernel 2.0 and wasnt sure if this was based on that). Second. If i wanted to install the oc kernel just for the heck of having it, if I didnt overclock it and left it at the regular 1ghz, would it still run at a higher voltage and affect battery life or would it be the same volatage as 4a until you actually overclocked it? Please let me know. Thanks.
Any chance we can get a pure stock kernel as either a zip for clockwork or a bootloader install so we can revert if needed? I think the one in rom manager still breaks wifi. Thanks,

There is a boot.img file in the original basic debloat thread which I believe is stock also the stock kernel on rm is stock and wifi did work for me with np.
Just reread what you asked for obviously the boot.img has to be applied in fastboot with adb. But again rm does work.
Just flashed the 4a kernel and everything is smooth as always.. thanks man

You can clock it with setcpu to 1228 and get the same result here. Is that ok?

Yes, it continues from 2.0.
If you use an of kernel and choose not to overclock, you will not run at the higher voltage.

Good work.
Good job as always. I have a quick question. This new awesome kernel runs undervolt and only overvolts at speeds greater than 1.3GHz?
if i just install 4.0a, I do not need to install set cpu correct?
This phone at 1ghz is plenty fast
Possible bug, when screen is on and using smart ass clock never drops below 768. When using on demand it does. I was running protekk's battery sipper before this and smartass would indeed dip below 768. Is this by design? Is that how smartass is indeed supposed to work?
edit: I see that you metion smartass is not working completely correctly
Great work
Great work.

Oc vs Uc

Can someone explain to me why my phone runs the unity rom faster at eight hundred mghz them when I over clock it at any level.quadrant scores only reach about 1700 but the phone is much faster
reminds me of when I was ruining the synergy rom.i have the governor set to on demand
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
i know whenever i try overclocking my phone it it freezes up and then eventually reboots cause the processor isn't made to handle those speeds. it's probably smoother because you're running it at speeds the processor is made to handle.

Read up on how the governers function. It might clear up why it would run faster at a different clock speed than a higher speed on the same rom. It also makes a different on what kernel you have. some do a better job at some things than others.
Heres a link to setcpu website where it discusses the governers
http://www.setcpu.com/
maybe the rom your using sucks too.

Unity is one of the best roms ever, it is smooth, fast, and stable. I used to hate sense until virtuous fusion 1.16 showed me the light.

Overclock Kernel?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a stable OC kernel I could flash on my MT3G 32B? I'm currently running LegSense 2.1 (ROM).
Thanks guys =)

In my time owning my mytouch, I have yet to see a kernel that can't overclock. Anything above 528mhz is overclocking. For me anything above 595 is unstable and almost instantly freezes the system.
