I've called 4 neighborhood stores and NONE of them know when they are getting it. One guy said "A few weeks" and another said "anyday, we get shipments every day." Let's hope its the latter. I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited. Online its $399 after rebates. But the guy in the store said it was going to be $399 with a $100 rebate according to his price sheet. YAY!
well, from the website that $50 rebate only applies if you subscribe to the PDA connect plan which is 39.99, i'd rather waste the rebate and not get that plane. As for the other $50... maybe activation?

I went by the store today again to check if they came in yet...they said they are supposed to get them in stock tomorrow. Also, they said the official price sheet they got today says the same as the website.
so is this still considered a wizard? man i want one

No, this wizard is the name HTC gave the phone. The 8525 is a Hermes. Just a different name, made by the same company though.

If the rebate is anything like the rebate for the 3125 I bought, it's not really a rebate but a Visa gift card with the amount that would have been a rebate. It can't be transfered to your bank account nor can you cash it out nor put it towards debt owed to Visa. It must be spent either at the Cingular store or anywhere that Visa is accepted.
Honestly, spend the extra 100-200 dollars and buy w/o the 2year contract term. That way when the next "Big and Tasty" comes out, you wont be stuck behind the contract.
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I currently have a TyTN that I bought about 6 months ago, I finally convinced my wife that she should get a new phone today. We went to the local Cingular Corporate Store and what do we see...8525's on sale for $99.99 with a new 2 year contract. We picked one up for her and I picked one up for myself as a back up phone. You have to sign-up for the PDA Unlimited plan to recieve the mail-in rebate for $50. I opted to not get that plan becuase it's a rip-off, so we paid $150 plus tax for each phone.
I thought that I might spread the word. Maybe you care maybe you don't...just trying to give a little back.
One person at the store said that the special offer ends Monday 4/30/07 and one other person said that it ended on 5/2/07. So if this interests you, you might want to call your local corporate store.

hmm i guess this is a local deal? I believe in Dallas, TX its still $399.99 with 2 yr contract and minus a $100 rebate for data plan totaling to $299.99 but I do agree thats a rip off for the data plan
What are the details on this special? I can't find it less that $360. Was it a refurb?
yeah i got mine for 200 plus a 50 dollar mail in rebate
hmm I am going to check tomorrow just for kicks. I got the 8525 less than 2 weeks ago. Do Cingular offer price matches? If not, I'll just do a return/exchange

The 2 that I got were brand spankin new. If it helps they were purchased in Tustin, CA.
I called Cingular and game them your 92780 zip code. Price was still >$300.
Was this at a Cingular Store (I thought this was what you meant)? Did it involve rebates? Best price I've seen is $199 after rebates @ Wirefly (but I won't buy from them or anyone using them again).
I'd buy one today if I could get the deal you got!
Which store did you buy it from in CA, I'll call them directly!

Why do you think the PDA Unlimited plan is a rip off?
I have the PDA Connect (Shown as: "PDACNCTUNTLADD" on my bill) for $39.99 minus company sponsorship discount.
Is there a better unlimited data plan?
Thanks.
Got mine for $99 (after $50 rebate). It used a $100 rebate for the California market, but since it was a corporate store, they matched the final price here.
Love these forums, saved me >$250 on this puppy!
Today was the last day.
If you want to make a mad dash, call you local store and see if they will match the current promotion in California.

Because most pay 19.99 for the Media Max and get unlimited internet... you just need to tell them you have a non-pda phone...
I tried calling the stores AND the price is 150 -50 for PDA, BUT you have to upgrade in the store. They wont do any over the phone orders. And cingular.com will not honor the price.
FINALLY I was able to get one of the store in the LA area to upgrade me over the phone and ship it to me... but it is not 150... Actually it is 196.49 out the door with taxes (they have to charge tax on the original price or some BS like that). Still a deal.
SO ANYONE IN THE LA AREA JUMP AT THIS DEAL.....
Ron
It would be proper to mention all the details about the deal... They are NOT 99 dollars.
It's 149.99 if you pick up a 2 year contract (or have an upgrade available on the account)
Tax is 46 dollars and is based on the 399 price tag, not the 99.99 tag
And until now, I thought the rebate was for everyone, but apparently it's only 50 off if you get that unlimited data plan.
The phones are 196.xx out the door each NOT 99!!!

True, I found this discrepancy out for myself, BUT I still gladly paid the $196, BECAUSE it is a stellar deal.
Ron
Wait I'm confused, was this just one Coporate Store? Are you sure it's over? I'm in the L.A. area, where should I go to see if I can still get this deal?
THanks for the help
yeah no kidding. I was gonna buy a TYTN for $600 until I saw this.
I am looking to buy the samsung vibrant at the lowest possible price without signing a contract, as I'll be moving to Africa in a few months for work.
I had heard of that costco was selling them for $250 off contract, and after rushing to the nearest costco to snatch up one(or 2), i was disappointed to find it had been increased to $479.99
Does anyone know anywhere that has it cheaper. I'm already selling my xperia x10 to put towards the purchase
Thanks

Yeah the costco deal ended a few weeks ago. I believe you could sign a contract for a 99$ phone then pay the 200$ ETF and get the phone for 300$. Im not sure if there are any negatives but I think that is currently the only way to get one for less then the full off contract price, unless anyone else knows about something I dont.
Oh, there is the Bing cashback route, get 35% off the off-contract phone, so you can get the phone for 325$.

I was able to get the phone from the t-mobile site for 146USD, but that was with a contract.
I just bought two from Wal-Mart for $99 each with a 2 -year extension. I showed them that Amazon.com is selling them for that price. Before that I went to the T-Mobile store and they wouldn't budge from $199. Went down the street to Wally World and they hooked me up. Happy New Phone Day for me and wifey!

Good suggestion, totally worth it to cancel and pay the ETF.
I'm curious if this would work?

If it does then you can get it for $274!!!

most internet dealers that sell the phone for less than normal contract retail price include extra ETF (termination fees) to make sure people dont change anything on their contract (bulk of their money comes from you signing a carrier contract so price of the phone isnt that big a deal for them)

Ahhh ic...thanks for the input....makes sense
i think amazon is still selling it for 99$
bing cashback is dead FWIW.
was it 2 years for each phone or 2 years for both?
Asked Tmobile if they price match with walmart, one representative said they would, a different rep said they wouldn't as walmart's a third party seller.
They also said if i got the phone for the 2yr contract price and then cancelled, i would be charged $200 ETF and would also be charged for the FULL price of the phone
Does anyone know exactly what the eligibility requirements are for the $50 rebate? I originally bought the G2 from a tmobile store for the upgrade price of $250 with the $50 rebate. Then I returned it in order to get the phone cheaper from costco. That failed because costco phone people couldnt honor my early upgrade discount. So then I called up customer service was able to get the phone for $150.
Now.. I still have the original $50 rebate form.. and was wondering if I could still use it. I skimmed over it and there's really no mention about how much the purchase had to be, etc. So does anyone know any further info on the rebates?
Thanks.
Lol thats funny, I did the same exact thing, except T-Mobile was able to revert my contract and I still got the costco 99.99 upgrade price. Ummm I'm pretty sure they can track through serial Numbers and IMEI numbers but hey its worth a shot, not like they can arrest you for trying...
you have to be at the 22 month mark to get the mail in rebate, and you have to buy the phone on an upgrade, and you have to mail in the form. if you got the rebate when you bought it for 250 then you were full upgrade eligible and there shouldn't be an issue sending in the rebate form. but worst case scenario is that you send it in and get a letter back that you are not eligible
Hi there,my friend has a uncle and I ask if he can buy the atrix for new and send me.
so he it's in spring , he went to att store and ask for atrix off contract and the executive say there is no phone only because he hasn't an account on att and offer 300 us in contract I was like wtf.
So where I can buy atrix cheap? Seems best buy and others are 600 us, will be nice having atrix for 500 so, any recommendations? Or what he can say in att store ?
Thanks in advance

Off-contract pricing is still meant for AT&T customers and that is why it is $499. What you want is a hardware only price, which is $599. Some AT&T stores will sell you the phone at a hardware-only price ($599), others will only sell to AT&T customers.
Your best bet is go to Best Buy and pick one up. Now, you could also get lucky and find a store willing to sell you the phone at an off-contract price but I think that would be rare.

Do you have a link for this? All I see online at the AT&T store is the $199 price with a contract.
I got mine on AT&T off contract at $499, and I did not even give them my account, phone no. etc.
why do you keep asking this? you know already that the atrix is 500$ off contract to at&t customers. since you and i aren't at&t customers, the cheapest as of right now is 600$ via amazon.
i'm waiting for mine friday at the earliest or next week (carnival holiday monday and tuesday)
phone: 600$
shipping to venezuela: 35$
unlock code: 20$

Apparently not, if you can't buy it for $500 without an AT&T plan. If you want it with no questions asked, it's $600 right now. That is all he was trying to say.

How did you get BestBuy to price match the $499 AT&T off contract price?
Which store? How loud did you yell?
Bought my Atrix last night. They told me they would only match prices if I had a paper AD and that a website listing would not be sufficient. I'm an AT&T customer not due for upgrade til later this year. So got stuck with the off contract pricing. Wanted the $499 AT&T price but paid the $599 price at BestBuy so I could use my BB card.

Yeah, really. What was the logic in that? The 18 month 0% financing? If it was just for the reward zone points, I'm sorry but that extra $100 won't even get you an extra $5 reward zone coupon.
well i ask my uncle on United states and At&t refuse sell :S and the a friend of him went as at&t customer and say only after one month of contract :S
so i willtry do this: but phone on contract($200) the after 3 days terminate contract ETF AFAIK its $325 so i hope i can get it for $525 us so any thoughs??? thanks
The trick is to just sign up for a pre paid account or by a 15$ go account that will make you a att customer by default that's what I did paid 499$ off contract.

Went back to a different BB over the weekend, got the $499 price match no problem.
They called a local AT&T Corporate Store to verify the price and available stock.
Once that was established, they credited my account.
