(Q)replacement bad lcd - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
Just wondering how I go about ordering a replacement phone, I have the "washed out" screen....

It's probably still under warranty from TMobile, just call them. They'll usually swap it out. If they don't, you can always send it directly to HTC for repair. They won't charge you if it's under warranty and NOT ROOTED. You can call HTC's warranty repair center by calling 1-877-293-0807 Monday-Friday 8 am to 8 pm EST. They'll set you up with an RMA number and usually turn the phone around in a week to 10 days.

Super loose hinge and rebooting problems, how so I get a replacement

How can I get a replacement from T-Mobile after the original 14 days? I'm off contact. Should I call customer loyalty? I've been a customer for 7 years.

If you pre-ordered it over the phone you'll have to call, if you bought at the store just walk in and tell 'em what's going on.
If they refuse to send you a new one then choke someone.... Kiddin' aside though, I'm sure they'll replace it as long as you reason with them.

[Q] Dead Pixel

I got the MT4G today. I love it till now but I discovered that there is a black dot ( Dead pixel or dust I am not sure) . Can I exchange the phone directly from the T mobile store that I bought it from? Or should I contact them and ask for a new one? How many days does the last option take?
I'd take it back to the store you bought it from. You should have 14 days from date of purchase.
People seem to forget that this is a manufacturer defect which means when u buy a phone atm of purchase u have a 1 year warranty with HTC so even if the 14 days pass u can still take the phone back and show them the defect or u can call customer service which ever works for u. Had the HD2 and exchanged after a month of purchased because of a defect so don't think u only have 14 days to return it
I went to t-mobile and they exchanged in the store.the new one has a clean screen.about the manufacturer defect,i remember few years ago there was an accepted number of dead pixels on laptops screen,i am not sure about the policy for smadi phones or laptops these days.anyway I was only asking because I read that some t-mobile stores don't exchange phones directly and send you to customer care.

download the app "jscreenfix" from the app store, its free, and let it run for 10 minutes... It might fix the pixel, it just might be "stuck"...

Replacement with Manufacturer Warranty?

Has anyone gotten a replacement through the 1-year warranty with Samsung? I just got off the phone with them and they said they don't replace phones only repair them which sounds like bs to me. Issue I have is with the loose screen. It's very loose open or closed.
They will probably try to repair first. If it's not repairable, then they'll give you another one (most likely refurbished).
Yea that's how they do it man, htc does it same way, I had my nexus one repaired in june, took about 9 days from the day I sent it out, tell I got it back repaired. I don't know about samsungs turn over time though.

Sprint TEP Replacements

Hi to all, are Sprint still giving the HTC Hero if you take the Phone to "repair" with them? Or are they giving another phone?
I remember one time if you took the HTC Touch PRO they will give you the Touch PRO 2...

I think it all depends on what's available.
You probably get a refurb.
TEP is the replacement refurbished program from Sprint, if your outside your 30 return policy this program will replace your phone for a small fee, unless its deemed a manufacture defect. To check if your HTC is in fact a refurbished device (and this may or may not work) hit. ##786# scroll down to Refurbished status, it should say no if its new, or have a date I.e. 8/28/11

And your phone will be replaced with the same phone is its on hand, ordered out if not on hand or replaced with an equal valued, or similar spec, phone. Often, less favorable then the phone you currently have. Best choice, have them send out for your exact phone replacement. Usually arrives, if ordered before 2pm PST, within 3-2 days

What phone did they send you as it's replacement?

My S4 wont turn on

My S4 fell down and the screen broke. Since then it won't turn on. Any diagnostic tools or solutions out there?
I know about shops that repair phones!
Call samsung customer services...all samsung products/phones come with a 24 mnth warranty as standard...theyll send you a postage bag to send them the phone in to them..totally free of course. Do not pay an independant repair shop who could possibly damage your handset further...rendering it out of warranty. This is your best bet if you fail to get it working yourself

A broken screen is not covered by warranty if I am not mistaken. And the fact that it died when it fell and the screen broke makes me think that the two things are related?

Nobody can help with this except Samsung.
Yes, broken screen is not covered by warranty, so you will have to pay for that and it's possible it's just that. Screen is not working so you can not see if your phone booted or now.
Go to Samsung support.
You don't have to send it to Samsung. Take/send it to any reputable repair shop. I broke mine a couple of months ago after I only had it for about 3 weeks. I called Verizon to find out if they had it in stock (I was ready to just buy a new one) and they actually told me to go on the internet and look for screen repair places because it would be cheaper than replacing the phone. I found a place in Times Square and I walked it in and 45 minutes later (and $280) I had a working phone again. Haven't had a problem with it since.
