No, look at the photo sharply, it has a "phone" button. The media player device has media player, video player etc instead

it is just a backplate
the entire front is our screen
there is no much of a case for the phone,
the case is just the back plate
the sides are just a bezel to clip on to the back plate
our phone is the slimest of all

Theres heaps of mesh backplates on ebay now. White sgs for everyone

I can't see the image from work, but I read an article about the PMP version, and it said that had a white backplate.

Looks like the volume and power buttons are white also.

is funny how many of the cell phone carriers will call minor things as "exclusive"
it's just a white shell
any one can get it from ebay retailers and choose the colour they want.
it's not so exclusive anymore to have white.
unless it has a White front plate

Ya cant see the power but the volume looks white it is hard to tell for sure.

The media player version has two speakers on the back: one near the top and the other near the bottom. They are both white however.

Just to clear things up for you all curious about the new white Galaxy S.
It has a white battery cover and body underneath is white too.
I have just received my white Galaxy S and I could say it does look like an iPhone 3GS but it's far better than that.
My first impressions are good, especially for the GPS, but further testing will be done.

Hi, first post everyone Has anyone tested out the new white Galaxy S yet? I recieved one earlier this week from a well known company online(i already had it in black but wanted it in white) but when making a call there was like a humming/buzzing coming from the earpiece, thought it might be because the volume was on max but still the same problem, tried changing sim to no avail. I went to the shop the next day to return it and exchanged it for another one in the same colour, got home and it still has the same problem as first handset. So im wondering what it could be as i bought the first one online and the second one i recieved was instore so they cant be both from the same batch could they? Is it a software problem it came with Froyo 2.2 JPO? Dont know if its worth swapping for another one, really like the white though, any ideas anyone? Thanks alot.

Hi again, earlier today swapped the phone again and exactly the samem problem, im stumped, do you guys think it may be a software problem or a hardware problem with the white galaxy s's. Would appreciate any ideas especially if you own the white one. Cheers.

White Evo's Making Their Comeback?

So finally after months and months of searching for a white HTC Evo, I'm hearing word that we will be getting them in around the 14th of this month at my work. (Best Buy).
I'm going to search our system for drop shipments tomorrow when I go in, and try to see if I can find anything.
I got two black Evo's around the 12th of last month, so I guess I can do without my phone for a few days to exchange it out!!!
Anybody else excited as I am?

Considering I waited two months for a white one when I could have walked out the store with a black one I'm excited to hear this. Now I just hope the Mobile people will work with me and get it switched out.

I had a dream last night that I was forced into getting a white one after taking my black one in for a repair.

The backside of the white evo feels really nice. No rubbery grip, but really solid and smooth.

I checked the system the other day, and the SKU is now active instead of being discontinued. But nothing in sight...
That's not good considering my 30 days is up in one week.

Every store in Florida pretty much 6-10 White Evo's currently in stock. I will be getting mine in a few days.
So if you want one, call your local Best Buy!

I just called the best buy here and was told they are still discontinued but Sprint makes them keep the display up. Even though best buy's website now has them for sale (but sold out) when last week you couldn't even find them on there.

I can tell you that you most likely talked to the sales operator who doesn't know jack... (Or at least at that store.)
What store are you closest to? I have a printout of all the stores and there inventory numbers...

Strangely enough got a replacement through ausurion, and it was a white evo

I wish I shared everyone else's love for the white version. When it was announced, I essentially wet myself because it sounded like the sexiest phone in history. I was really, really disappointed at the half-white/half-black final product. Had it been all white, I would have been all over it.

I work for best buy wireless in brandon fl and we got 16 white evos last week

Got mine today!
I will have to say, it is so much sexier in the hand!!!!
I also noticed the screen has much better color and viewing than my old model. We had a few to compare in person when I was doing the exchange... I am so happy!

I love my white evo, only problem is the paint is flaking off and its a known problem.. enjoy it, it is sexier then the black..

I love my white Evo. My fiance wanted one too but all the nearby BestBuys told me that they dont make them any more and dont plan to. We got her a black one last weekend. Sure wish I could find a white Evo in Georgia and exchange hers out. I would get so many brownie points for that!!

There are plenty of Best Buy's in Georgia... You have plenty of time to bring it back and exchange it! I am more in love with mine than I thought... Guess the wifey isn't going to get any attention anytime soon!

Its crazy how it worked. I got my Evo right after they were released. I called for weeks and finally found 1 in stock and they swore to me that it was black, becasue I did not want white. When I got there it was white....but I had been waiting and didnt know when any one would get another Evo in so I went ahead and got it. Now I am SOOO happy I got white because I absolutely love it!! Now my girl wants white and she gets a black one...maybe she'll end up loving it...I just dont see that happening though

I got the Nexus 4 in first ever batch luckily and it had a Camera rattling issue stronger than most other people's (see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78EGLJcPuoA)
I got that phone replaced and my replacement has been in my hands for 19 days now. This one has a different set of problems though. The first is that the camera rattle still isn't fixed, but it isn't nearly as bad as my original one. The second problem is that I've noticed a pixel that is a few shades lighter than the rest, but it can only be noticed on angles - looking straight on to the device doesn't show anything.
So what do you think? Should I ask for another replacement and see if 3rd times the charm?

as long as you have a backup phone and can wait for the rma to arrive do so

Im on my second phone and both of them has had that same problem in different areas, and drives me crazy so Im sending it back for a third. Is this common spread issue with other peoples? I think most all of them have it? I have very good vision so that doesn't help seeing these artifacts ether!

I have a feeling that these phones are just basically being transferred amongst you guys?
Most people are perfectly happy with their phone, a lot of people keep getting bad phones RMA after RMA , plus they don't even have enough phone to ship to people who already paid for it so... replacement phones must come from somewhere else, isn't it?

Will call them up today then.. what's also weird is that my money was returned for the replacement cost, but according to google wallet the transaction is still pending. Anyone know how long the RMA transaction takes to finally clear? I don't like the idea that they may take out $400 from an account that doesn't usually have $400 in it. #australian
EDIT: Done. Took 5 minutes on the phone and they said they'd get it sorted out straight away for me. Still waiting on the email with instructions but it sounds like it will be all sweet

I would've requested a replacement right away.

So it took 3 phone calls but I've finally got a second replacement on the way.
Hung up on them the first time
Called back and the rep said that they have to forward my information onto a specialist, they can't hand out free replacements anymore, then he never did.
Called back a day later and the lady helped me out in a few minutes, got my email with instructions from the specialist within half an hour

so is this an isolated issue? the last two have had this on mine? waiting for the 3rd and i have a feeling it will also have this defect.

My nexus 4 has the camera rattle. My first 1 also had the camera rattle (so I think it's just the design) My Galaxy S2 (ATT) also rattled with the camera some, just not as much. It's how the cameras are made.
Having a single pixel kind of sucks on a screen so small, but with so many pixels, even monitor and tv makers say you need so many dead pixels in a sized area to warrant a replacement. This is a 720p display and has as many pixels as some 40" televisions

A faulty pixel? C'mon, that's no reason to replace your phone. Almost every screen has at least one faulty pixel. And I believe almost everyone has the camera rattle, just like almost everyone has the speaker buzz (which you don't hear anyway unless you hug your phone with your ears).
My advice, just ignore it and learn to live with it. No device is perfect. No phone, no TV, no monitor. In a few weeks/months you will get scratches that are far worse than one faulty pixel, and you will have to live with that too.
I know the feeling of getting something new and wanting it to be perfect. When I got my first smartphone (Nexus S) I had two faulty pixels. I couldn't stop looking at them. But then I did. And I haven't noticed them since.
I bet that if you do RMA, your replacement will have the same or another defect.

I would RMA for faulty pixels, but certainly wouldn't for a rattle.
As a previous poster mentioned, it is peculiar that some users are RMAing 3 or more times whereas most users have perfect devices.
I think it probably says more about the user than the way that device is built or how RMAs are processed.

so are you saying that we are picky? or we did that to the display? Im not new to technology I know nothing is perfect, I dont really care about the rattle. However I like to look at a nice screen on a small screen with stuck pixels it stands out and bugs the crap out of me because thats what my eyes go to. I have had smartphones from windows phones when they first came out to the first android G1, ipad, ipod touch, whatever I can live with most defects just not pixels ones. So I was trying to gauge whether most everyone has stuck pixels or just a few.

Nexus 9 - Which color will you get?

And there goes the question I just can't find an answer to for now.
First of all: I own a white N5 (and its' cover will be replaced by a black one soon enough because the nexus logo is partly peeled off)
Now I'm torn whether I should go with the white or the sand Nexus 9...
As far as the pictures go, I prefer the white one for its' more metallic look on the alumunium frame whereas the sand-colored one is way darker there. Same applies to the nexus logo.
But the sandy back has kind of a premium look which (imho) very slightly surpasses the white one as far as that goes...
Then again there are no legit pictures of the sand version yet...I don't quite trust those rendered pics which can be found in the playstore and the white one looked good in those hands-on videos.
Any advices or opinions that could help me make the decision ?
EDIT: Oh and btw I will get the keyboard folio aswell

First, I ordered the white one, but then Artem from AndroidPolice told me about his negative experiences with the white N7 and N5, so I decided to cancel the white one and ordered the black, even if I like the look of the white one a little bit more.

Could you elaborate a bit more what Artem told you about the white version?
I myself - as mentioned above - experienced some problems with the backcover as it changed its color at some spots (maybe my jeans?) and the logo is partly peeled off. Which is why I ordered a replacement backcover.

My choice has always been SAND, sadly I had to settle with white because I'm not willing to wait in lingering agony until they decide to have the Sand option available for shipping.

I ordered white. My galaxy tab pro LIVES in a folio case, which i figure will be the case with this one. Hopefully that will keep it primo for a good long while.

I want sand, but who knows when that will be available, and I'm not keen on waiting since I'm still bumbling around on a 2012 N7.

I like the sand and plan on waiting to purchase so later release isn't a problem. My five other nexus devices have been 16 GB which has never been an issue so I'm not sure about needing 32gb. It occurred to me that I always keep my tablets in a case so what difference does it make to me what color it is. They're all black on the front.

Initially I wanted the Sand version, I wrote to HTC here in Denmark, and they said that it might not be available here at all.
So then I ordered the White through HTC, but after a lot of writting back and forth they finally admitted that they were gonna ship the tablet a month later than Google Play.
So I canceled the order and ordered it from Google Play, which only had the black version.. So, guess I'm getting it in black

I heard its for the LTE models only but im not sure

There is a wifi only 32gb sand. It says "coming soon." That's the one I want.

Read an article some hours ago that was some kind of guide concerning the color question on the Nexus 5.
I'd say the safest one would be black but that's a bit too casual for my likings
And that keyboard folio should protect my tablet enough not to get dirty.
Right now I tend towards ordering a white one but those choices are killing me :crying:

I want to see how the Sand one looks like up front but it won't be available on launch, there's no time frame on it as well . So will be buying the White version. Black looks standard, doesn't have that fresh new appeal to it.

Well, I'm thinking that, if I really wanna get it in an other color, I should be able to buy a replacement back cover in eg. sand, and then I don't have to wait for sand to be released. Instead I can enjoy my Nexus 9 earlier and don't have to care about banging up the back cover

Does this one month-delay you mention apply to HTC Denmark, or to HTC world-wide???? (I'm in the United States and ordered mine through the HTC US store, which is handled by an online merchant partner).

I really don't know. Try writing to HTC in the US and get a clear answer from them.

I just preordered the white 32gb version from amazon, should be getting it november 4th thanks to prime. black seems a little bit less premium/spectacular (IMHO!) and prone to fingerprints whereas sand is not available.
I think you can't go wrong with any color though, can't wait to get my hands on the device :victory:

I've gone with black as it hides a multitude of stains. I work on my car a lot and also like to cook which means I often have some sort of oil on my hands.

Screen Coating Issues - Please Check Yours and Post Here!

I've had my phone since Monday and have been noticing these two horizontal lines on my phone screen - one on the top left of the screen and the other bottom right. If I wipe them off they virtually disappear, but if I then put my finger over them they come back straight away. I think these are defects in the coating of the screen so that these regions attract fingerprints/oil etc more than the rest of the screen. Here are some pictures:

I have been extremely careful with my phone and haven't done anything that should have caused this to happen. Anyone else noticed anything similar?

I had exactly the same issue in exactly the same places! My thoughts were that it was glue from the build process! Anyway I returned it to the store and they gave me a new one!

Wow, good to hear I'm not the only one. The placement of the lines seems to suggest the screen was maybe passed through rollers during manufacture and these damaged the coating.
I too wasn't sure whether the marks were residue or missing parts of the coating. To test this, I applied a few small drops of water to the screen and they bead into nice droplets where the coating is intact, but when I apply water to the affected areas it spreads out along the line, kept in by the coating outside the region. This is pretty conclusive as far as I'm concerned. I hope the online store I bought my phone from is happy to replace it!

I thought I had dropped it on the screen and caused it. But I know I haven't dropped of bumped it on the screen.
So I think for sure this proves it's a flaw. Let's see who else has this, and what we can possibly do about it.
Please post which version of G4 you have so we can see if there are any patterns.
Mine is the 815 from Taiwan. I've wet the screen to highlight where they are on mine.
I've contacted the place I bought mine from to see what they make of it, as I feel this is a manufacturing flaw that should be replaced.

Yep, mine's an 815 from Taiwan too.
Another very easy way to check is to wipe the screen clean and then fog it with your breath. The affected regions show up very clearly.
I've also contacted the place I bought mine from... haven't heard anything back yet, I guess because it's the weekend.

I will try to go to LG service center in Monday. Mine in the dual Sim version.

Not seeing it on my H811 from Korea. Tried both the fingerprints and the water drops and couldn't find anything. (For some reason my breath won't fog up the screen - maybe I'm a zombie or something? )

Mine seems flawless. Yay.

Hopefully you guys will be as lucky as I was and get a replacement! If not, you might wanna try seeing if this or something similar works!

I had the same issues on my O2 UK handset. Lines across the screen equal distance from top and bottom.
Mine got swapped out at my door for a replacement which is perfect.

LG quality control seems lacking on the g4. I've owned several LG devices from the og optimus to the flex and g3. Usually this isn't prominent in LG threads

Same probleme over here... one line on the top left corner and 2 more on the right one...

I have the same issue, I got it home from buying it and thought I had somehow already scratched it... I've been kicking myself for a week now thinking how dumb I was. Time to take it back to tmobile today.

Let me know how that goes. T Mobile stores are a ***** to get a phone returned.. Even when the phones are obviously flawed they'll try to warranty exchange it or tell you to pay the 50 dollar restocking fee.

Same problem. Those lines appeared on 3rd day of usage. There's at least 7 or so users who have the same defect with their screens on russian phone community 4pda.ru
I'm currently trying to convince the seller that it is a production defect so that I can have the phone returned... It's not an easy thing to do in Russia but I will do my best.

Wow, thanks for the thread. I checked and I have two lines, one at the top and one at the bottom. Didn't notice it on day 1. I have the 815 from Clove.

Hm, maybe someone should make a list which modells from which reagion are having this problem. I have several G4s here and none has this issue, H815 o2 DE (Germany) batch. This batch was released just around the 8. june, o2 customers in Germany had to wait until then to get the phone, maybe it is only in the first production batch of the G4s.

I just shipped mine back to Clove. Will get a new one sent once they receive it.

Today i recivied a call from LG. I wil have a replacement in a few days when they confirm its a fabrication deffect.

Wow. I would totally send that back.
I have a Verizon G4 and the screen is fine. This is probably for the 815 international models
