from the 2.2 version 315 and 318...i have trouble with 2 apps.
Youtube will not stay in landscape or i have to hold my streak perfectly vertical..even if a just tilt it just a bit..it goes to portret mode.
google maps freezes with the latest update with satelite imagery. no problem in terrain mode.If i uninstall the latest update..i have no problem.
anyone the same problems?
Just tried them both and both are ok in the new update
I've only tried to watch one vid on YouTube, but I had the same problem. It was stuck in portrait. I'm on Steve's 1.4.6.
On my 318-unlocked with latest market-youtube app I can watch portrait (small vid and some info) and landscape (full screen vid). What doesn´t work is switching while playing a vid.

has anyone been able to get the HTC youtube player to work ?
when it tries to play a video on my vogue it just freezes ...
It works for me but the only problem is that the audio is always out of sync, always...

Same here with HTC Youtube on my Sprint Vogue. It's first screen is really nice, shows neat little summaries. But when one is selected to play, ugh! First of all, the player goes left handed on me, sort of upside down. And the aspect ratio of the area for video is rediculously w-i-d-e screen. Worst of all, it just freezes, curable only via soft reset.
So, my use of HTC Youtube is only to pick out a video. Next, I open up youtubeplay, enter keywords from HYt, and then download the FLV file rather than viewing it. Once D/L'd, I use TCPMP to play it nice and smooth, sync'd too.
Youtubeplay is available here:

And TCPMP here:

Works perfect for me. First install the app, then the ravest fix.
I've found that the least troublesome way to use flash is to use Skyfire (mobile browser), plays pretty much any flash file inside the browser. It's also free.

You can also fire up Opera Mobile Ver 9.5 or higher and simply install the You Tube Widget.
When i open HTC YouTube app it doesn't load the thumbnails of the videos, only the gray tv icons! Does anyone else have same issue?
How can i fix this?
Thanks!
yes i have the same problem! i've searched for some answers and no luck. the google youtube works fine but it's not the same quality.
Me too! The same problem with HTC's Youtube client.
I noticed that under the history tab, some old videos i had viewed about a week ago had their thumbnails displayed whereas the more recent videos had none (an active internet connection is required to load these 'history thumbnails').
Also, from a "fresh" list of videos,if you click on the description button (!), a thumbnail sometimes loads on the description screen.
This leads me to conclude it's not the software, but somehow Youtube has stopped sending/changed the preview pictures that accompany the video description.
Is this just a temporary glitch, or does Google want us all to switch to its own viewer?
guys
go for the offical youtube app from google
its work for me and its faster than the htc youtube
demo video

download last version

yeah o dont reallu like the google youtube version its faster but less quality. anyway i was having the same problem now is working fine. maybe it was a problem on the youtube server or maybe upgrading my sprint rom to the latest htc version fixed it.
Following on from my previous (and ongoing) thread about the YouTube app, I decided to give the Google version a go.
Whilst on the plus side it doesn't mess about with the HTC album and it does appear to work rather well, I have 2 problems with it.
Firstly there doesn't seem to be an option to play the clip in HD if it's available and secondly, clips are rotated on the wrong side of the screen. What I mean by this is that by default you would rotate the phone clockwise by 90 degrees rather than anti-clockwise by the same angle as in every other app.
Is there any way to change which way the app rotates the screen to play back video? I can't think of a way to play clips in HD but that surely must be hard-coded into the app.
google youtube
Well there are other youtube apps just go on google and type youtube app windows mobile . It will take straight to googles official youtube app.
went to mobile youtube site, downloaded & installed Google Youtube app on my mobile (ATT Tilt 8925 TyTN II Kaiser 100 , WM 6.5 light ahmedfikry).
after searching for a file, when i click to play it,
showing me error "Inter Error : ..\xplatform\util\imageutils. cpp:292".
after i click on the 'ok' on that error popup window,
Google Youtube app quits !
previously on WM 6.1 , it used to work fine.
any1 facing & solved this problem ?
EDIT :
when i went to mobile youtube website through the IE, files were playing with lot of video+audio jittering (stopping & playing).
but after installing the "Dvha79 AdobeFlash3.1 plugin.cab" (Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 by dvha79_ddt) , IE can now play smoothly.
I had the rotate problem on my ATT Tilt 2 in the past and I found that if you opened the phone up and then launched the app that it would rotate the screen correctly.
I now use the YouTube app that is cooked in the ROM (listed below) and it works just fine.
Hi,
I'm trying to play a youtube video from the internet app on my htc hd2 on the bpsense hd v2.0 and everytime it's about to play the internet app crashes and returns to the home screen.
It keeps doing it. I've updated my flash player to 10.3 from the market but it still crashes and returns to the home screen when I try to play a video rom the youtube site.
Can anyone help please?

other Youtube apps
Did u try it with other Youtube apps? If the problem persists post again.
The youtube app works. Its the internet app that crashes/closes and returns to the home screen when flash player runs.
issue with flash, have you checked the rom dev thread to see if others have this issue? might be worth upgrading flash if you havent already
So all has been good after the update to android 10. No major issues. However, there is some issue with watching videos on fullscreen on the youtube website, NOT the app. (tested on firefox and chrome)
The bottom part of the video clips/ fall through. I have attached screenshots showing the same.
Anyone else facing the same issue? Solutions?
First image shows normal/vertical orientation. Second one (with the clipping) is full screen/landscape.
