Streak does not power on. Please help!! - Streak 5 General

I have an att streak 1.6 locked with 31 baseband. I wanted to update my phone with the QDCtools. Followed the instruction to a T. Got to the update part where qdctools should recognize your streak. I hit volume up and connect cable and nothing happens. I tried many times to remove battery and reconnect cable nothing. My streak will not power on anymore. Can someone please help?

This looks like complete brick.....same that i have presently
Tried several PCs streak still not recognized by any of them......same was told by Steve & Guys on the irc..... extremely upset.

It turned on after taking the battery out and disconnecting the cable and waiting for a minute. When I try the volume up and plug cable so I can update it does nothing.

Dell venue pro not turning on?

Hey guys, just wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem, or if possibly my girlfriend has a defective unit. Like i said, my gf has a dvp but when it dies and i connect it to a charger (1 amp) it'll sit for 10-15 minutes and still wont turn on. I was able today to take the battery out, let it sit for a minute, then put it back in and turn it on, and it did just that. And then it showed that the phone was charging. then after a few minutes it turned off.
Anyone else have this problem? Because i know as is, the phone is supposed to turn on automatically because the phone has to be on to charge (a wp7 "feature")
anyone think i have a defective unit? By the way...today when it happened it was the 2nd time its happened to her so far.

It's happened a couple times on mine since I got it in late December.
I am currently having this same problem. This is distinctly different from the other crashes (Marketplace/wifi kindof thing), which is often resolved by quickly removing and replacing the battery, which many are waiting for the April 18 Dell firmware fix to resolve. (Better to hold the power button down for 5 secs than constantly remove the back and battery.)
This is different. The phone is quite dead. The power button is completely unresponsive. The battery must be left out for at least a minute. The phone doesn't even charge when in this state, as I left it on the charger overnight. It does recur as well, but I haven't had time to fully investigate. I have had the nodo update for a week prior to this occuring, so that may not be related.
Having the same problem, and as the guy above stated, THIS IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE NORMAL CRASHES. This has started for me since the NoDo update. Pulling the battery does nothing. I just have to leave it sit and come back. Sometimes it restarts on it's own after 5 minutes and sometimes 2 hours. Either way, I am sick of this lemon.
Same here
Hey i am having the same problem also. I thought it was just because my phone completely died. It turned on eventually and then i had it charging overnight and now its doing the same thing. Seriously thinking about going back to android. So many problems.
I'm having a very similar problem to the one described above. Earlier this evening I unboxed a completely new Dell Venue Pro. It was carrier locked to T-Mobile, but I have subsequently unlocked it with the code provided to me from Dell directly. My plan is to use the phone on the Rogers network in Canada, and right now there is no SIM card in it.
Anyway, the phone refuses to charge properly. When it has the battery in it, and I try plugging it into the wall, the phone shows a full screen icon of a battery with a AC plug on it (I assume this means the phone is fully charged.) However the moment I unplug it the screen goes dark and there is no way of turning it back on. I've tried holding the power button, I've tried pulling the battery, putting it back in, and then holding the power button. Nothing seems to work.
If I plug in the phone into the wall with no battery in it. I can get into the OS. If I then put the battery back into the phone while it is still charging, it'll show that the battery has no charge. After a few minutes (in the ball park of 5-10) it'll again show the full screen icon of a battery with a AC plug on it.
I've compared this to my friend's Samsung Focus which was plugged in when it has no charge. The Samsung focus will show a full screen critically low battery icon when first plugged in, then as it charges we'll get a full screen low battery icon, and then the Windows Phone 7 OS itself will load. (It is still not fully charged, so I do not know if we ultimately get the full screen icon of the battery with plug.)
Both phones (Samsung Focus and Dell Venue Pro) have been charging for over 2 hours now. The Samsung Focus is in the WP7 OS and shows an increasingly charged battery. The Dell Venue Pro still has that full screen battery+plug icon.
The only way I can access the WP7 OS on the Dell Venue Pro is to take out the battery and plug it directly into a wall, or directly into the computer. I have succeeding at carrier unlocking it and upgrading the OS all the way to Mango using this approach. However the phone just refuses to run on battery power.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Do you think it is the phone, or the battery itself? Any advice would be appreciated.
P.S. Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I'm a n00b, and the video said to find a thread related to my problem, and post there.
Edit: So the Samsung Focus finished charging. It lets me interact with the WP7 OS, and does not have the full screen battery with AC plug icon. Although it does have a much smaller version of the icon on the top of the screen where the remaining battery icon is.

Sounds like something my phone did a few months ago. I was able to resolve the issue by following the steps in the post below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11699369&postcount=10
The issue hasn't happened since. Not sure if it's the same issue but give it a try and see if it helps
THANKS, it worked!
I know I tried those steps (from the same post) before upgrading to Mango and it didn't seem to work. After upgrading to Mango, it did work. The only variation I made to the steps was that when you try to shut down the phone (while holding the power button) I also swiped downward, as that is now needed with Mango.

Hi demondo, im having the same exact problem as you and im also with mango, can you please explain a little better what you did ? Until now nothing had sucess for me
Thanks
Hi Mauriciovsky,
I do not know what the minimum number of steps is to get rid of the problem. Here's what I did, but probably some of it isn't needed:
Charge the phone (with battery in it) using the AC adapter for a few hours with the bettery + plug icon. (I charged it until a Samsung Focus was fully charged.)
Unplug the charger.
Take out the battery.
Plug in phone to computer over USB.
Update the phone all the way to Mango. (You know you're in Mango when holding the back button brings you to the tile view of your running applications.)
With phone still plugged in to USB, plug in the battery.
(MAYBE) unplug the phone from USB. I can't recall if I did this step or now, I don't think so, but maybe.
Either way, turn off the phone. This is done by holding the power button for two seconds and then swiping downward when instructed to do so.
Unplug the phone if you haven't done so earlier.
Hold the power button for two seconds, then let go. The Dell logo should appear, and the phone should boot.
Sorry I can't give you a more concise explanation. However, the phone has been working great in the few hours since the problem went away. Hopefully it'll work for you too.

Thanks a lot for the help demondo and the other guys
I had the same problem: my DVP's, running WP7.5 "Mango", battery got drained and when I tried to turn it back on it would not boot, not even when I hooked it to a power outlet. I finally got it running again, here's what I did:
1. Take out the battery.
2. Turn it on (you should see the Dell logo by now).
3. Put the battery back. (It will alert you that the battery is critically low).
4. Charge it.
*Hope this helps*

URGENT HELP NEEDED!My i9000 just died off while charging

Hi all forummers,
I am having a big problem with my Galaxy S i9000, my model is GT-i9000. I have never root or do anything to the phone. Last night, I was just charging the phone as per normal, and when I returned to check my phone, it was off and I thought nothing of it and tried to power on the phone, but it doesn't work at all.
I tried with my USB cable, with another charger, with another battery but all in vain. I tried searching the forum for an answer or at least someone who encountered similar situation like me, but seems like I am the only one with such problem.
My phone can't power on, can't boot up, nothing, it's just a dead phone now.
Like to ask if this is a software or hardware problem, I tried connecting to the ODIN but no response, even my PC can't detect the phone when it's connected.
Can someone please help and advise??
Much appreciated!
try taking out the battery for some 5 minutes or so then put it back and plug the charger but do not turn it on

thanks and I tried, still the same. But funny thing is when I tried to charge it again, I can feel some heat on the battery, meaning actually power did go in but it just cannot power up..
Tasks it to the samsung repairs centre. You're still covered by warranty.

[Q] Not powering on - please help

Omnia 7 with Mango RTM officially installed, working perfectly was recently let to sit idle while I was using my Focus, and the battery drained over time.
Today, I wanted to charge it, but plugging in the USB did not power the phone on. I even changed cables, and also used my PC to charge it - but for the life of me, it wouldn't turn on. I even let it sit with the charging cable in it for a while.
I also took the battery out and only plugged the cable, still nothing.
Is the phone dead? Can anything be done to revive it - it was a flawless phone and there were no issues as such. I would appreciate any help.
Update: I plugged in the USB jig which powered the phone on, but now it's in the download mode. Powering it down and and trying to restart it again I am hitting a dead end. It's not powering on. Anyway to restart the phone without removing battery?
Update 2: I remembered from the past trying to update the ROM, that it fails and restarts the phone. So, while in the download mode, I started the ROM updater from Samsung and ran through the normal update process. It failed and restarted the phone - now I see a big white battery charging icon on the front screen. So hopefully this will be ok - and I will update the progress.
But this is quite disturbing as to what steps I had to take to power it on. Imagine if I didn't have the USB jig.
Update 3: After showing the battery icon for about 5-10 minutes, the phone restarted itself and booted normally. It's now charging and hopefully all will be ok. I'll make sure I don't let the battery die again.

[Q] mt4g flashing LED no vibrate no screen

Hey guys, Im trying to fix this mt4g for a friend.. It wont boot, I cant get into hboot or recovery, all it does is flash the LED. I have read post saying its because I was unsuccessful at loading bootloader, however it doesn't vibrate like the others are saying. I left the battery out for a couple hours along with sd and sim, also tried charging through the night... I cannot figure this one out, also, the computer will not recognize any new hardware or drivers. Is this phone bricked beyond repair?
I put the battery on my battery charger and let the battery charge outside of the phone now when I put the battery in the phone and plug it in to the computer, the red LED comes on and stays on, along with a red glow on the trackpad... Anyone know what to do?
Blinking LED is either the battery is charging to at least one percent, or you didn't press the right button combo to boot into bootloader. Power + Volume Down is bootloader, Volume up will give you three vibrates and a flashing LED, where you will have to pull your battery.
Thanks, I cant get the phone to do anything... I plug it in with the battery in, without pushing any buttons and the LED comes on and the IR trackpad light comes on... It wont respond to anything, no drivers popup.. Is there anyway to recover a bricked mt4g? Im new to it, as I have an Evo and have never had anything like this occur with all the evos i've flashed and rooted... If someone knows anyway to fix this feel free to give input..
Thanks everyone!
ya .. mine is doing the samething.
I just try to turn it on and I get one vibrate ... nothing else
I hit down and power and I get one vibrate .. nothing else
I hit up and power I get 3 fast vibrates and a flashing orange led ... I try to plug the USB here and I get 3 fast beeps on the comp
I hit up and down vol and power I get 5 fast vibrates with a solid green led and noting else... usb again beeps 3 times on the comp
neither will recognize the usb and I have reinstalled the drivers .. and of course none will work with adb either.
I think we are screwed really ... but maybe someone knows something i dont on this here. Thanks for any help.

ya .. no luck so far ..I have tried a lot .. different drivers .. HTC sync .. etc.
I have tried different button pushes .. usb ports .. wont work in adb .. nothing is doing anything.
all I hear thru my speakers when I plug it in is that damn the fast 3 beeps .. ike a "hell no go F yourself you arent connecting it"
and there isnt a lot of info online bout this .. other than some others have the same LED blinking and stuff .. I still dont know what the different LED modes mean.
so IM screwed .. BUT I am getting an LG G2X as an alternate exchange thru T-Mobile warranty though. goodbye mytouch 4G Hello to G2X AND Galaxy S II(bought) .. fun times!
I found a thread somewhere, not sure where but it said that if you cant get anything and the infra-red on the touch sensor is lit the phone is completely bricked!
Its not bricked. Somethign is wacky with the phone, mine has done it and thats why im trying to find out what the hell is going on. My phone acts like its completely dead. This post migt end up being really long.
Ok, i notices this, i used my phone as a wifi hot spot. Turned it off. Left my phone alone, i then put it on charge and went to sleep. Woke up looked at the battery, no color other than the lighting bolt. Unplugged it then went off. Pluged charger back in and orange led flashes. Tried to get into recovery nothing. Tried to power it on, nothing, tried the volume down and power, three vibrations. Ok then i decided to take out the battery in and out, didnt work, tried leaving the battery out for a few minutes, then put it back in, same. Took out memory card, sim card. Then plugged in the charger. Let it sit for awhile then it works. I notice if you dont use the orginal charger that may also be the problem. I dont have my orginal but i used a walmart charger and seems like a super charger and some how charged my battery enough to be booted up, i daily use a charger that i found with the same connection x-( , that could be the problem. I dunno what makes this happen but it happened to me at least three times. I kinda figure the battery or the emmc chip is involved, could be the hotspot, could be anything, but we dont have enough evidence to figure it out, ill try to post what my battery usage on here. I use cm7 and it only happens when i use it. I tried all other roms but no repeats. That was my story.

I have done all these as well, and still unable to get past the black screen, or acheive bootloader as well. I have even left the battery out for a couple of hours, and still no different. Going to try recharging the battery once more, and some other things.
As for adb it is of no help as of now. I keep getting an error saying no device found. Has anyone found a way past this yet, to try rebooting through adb?
*Edit*
After trying to replace files on the sdcard I was not able to get past this issue. Also spoke with tech support, and was not able to get anywhere with their help. After speaking with them, I have come to conclusion the is bricked. I still cannot figure out what caused the phone to do this I broke down and sending it out to be replaced. Thankfully I have the insurance so I don't have to pay anything for the replacement.
Apparently its not bricked cause I'm still using mine. Try a different charger probly a stronger one like walmarts. I think the battery has a fart and is messed up for a little when it doesn't have a good charge

I have done this, fully charged it twice, and no change for me. I am glad it worked out for you.
Its not bricked.
Download the stock rom, and put that .zip in the root of your SD card. Put it in, press Power + Volume DOWN and wait for the bootloader. Once it boots, it should recognize the .zip and ask if you want to update it, run the update and your phone will be at stock again. Then root again, install Clockwork, and hopefully you backed up your ROM. This won't effect S-OFF, but you will have to run VisionARY again to get root permissions to run clockwork.
Hope this Helps.
one more
I am too having this problem
just blink orange
can't access bootloader or any else....
I too had this problem not too long ago. My power button wouldn't work though... I just connected via USB to my computer with the battery out, put it back in while connected and it turned on. Maybe I'm just lucky but give it a try

While phone is off do the following:
1. Press volume down button and power off button both together till you see Android Robot with (!) Exclamation mark;
2. Now release both keys and press volume keys (both up and down volume keys together);
3. This will show you Stock Recovery;
4. Now from volume down key select "wipe Data" and execute it with power key;
5. Now select Reboot.
This will probably resolve the issue. However, if the issue still persists then you need to use RSD lite to flash your phone with the some Froyo SBF.
For more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
[Note: To enter bootloader menu so that RSD lite recognize your phone you need to have its USB drivers installed on your system and while booting you need to press Volume Up key and Power key together while phone is off to enter Bootloader menu to flash with SBF.]
Hope this helps!!

Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10264115
Why?
Cause a damaged OS, cannot charge your battery. you must pull your battery out of defy and charge the battery externally.
Or you buy a new battery, or let charge your old battery by a cellphone-seller, or asks a friend of yours with a defy to charge your battery for you etc.
Have u checked the voltage of your battery, it must be 4,1 V if the battery is fully charged.
I think esok44 is right your battery is empty, there is not enough power in it to start your defy.
i just tried the usb modification to connect it to the battery directly,,done all the steps as told ... nothing!!!
i'm really getting frustrated cuz its been like this for the past one week,,i've tried everything
don't have any friends with defy phone...
can't think of anything else to do but to brake the phone
well if everything fails, give it to motorola...
if it really is broken and everything fails, then try it.
would be the last option for me, but at least it is one...
But as is said, had the same problem and in may case it worked...
i've read on xda about an usb-manipulation to flash sbf when battery is empty, maybe you could try this...
I'll add a link to it
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1489289
i have encountered this problem previously and the solution was replacing the battery, as RATTAR said the battery is not charged. try to charge your battery or try another charger, once it's charged rsd will recognize it. don't panic or despair.
