Easiest way to tell if it was rooted is to check the splash screen. The first one, not the loading screen. If it has the MyTouch Fender logo, it's most likely stock. I haven't seen anybody be able to bring that back. What else would you like to know?
I'm closing this thread because the OP posted this in the wrong section.
Next offense may result in a 1 day ban.
Thead moved and closed.

Or just do it for free? C'mon, this is a Nexus forum and you're advertising your program here which is untested on the Nexus? Or am I misparsing your.... response?
I'm going to leave now....and try to forget "general" exists
yes i have the final update frf91 and root as easy installing and apk poom end you get root afther tha i download rom manger end install the rom from thear.
How safe is it since it has not been tested on the N1 (except that the OP says so).
Don't listen to this idiot. If you want to root follow instructions in the development section.

Im going have to agree with you, No offense to OP but let a Dev confirm this works with nexus one with no side effects to it, anyone that wants to root use the many instrucitons on Development section for now, till this gets a confirmation that it works with N1!
This is the same guy that posted a week or two ago saying that he was unable to follow the directions to root because they were 'too hard' and he was *****ing that other phones have one-click root whereas the N1 doesn't. A couple people even tried to help him, but he just didn't want to try.
If you want to root your N1, make sure you follow the instructions in the Dev section and not some untested program. It might not be as easy, but you learn something in the process.

What? that made no sense at all
Yep, difficult to decipher Must be from another planet
I really do want to Root my Tmobile G2, I'm rather a "Newbie" at this whole thing. Id like to root and flash CM7 Gingerbread.. I just need some help. What would be the easiest guide to do so? Really would hate bricking my phone. haha
I'm in the same position as you. I got the G2 since it came out and I've been debating to root or not because there's other ways to do it. Also people had probs this and that so I've been stock. Where can we find the easiest best guide to root.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
See button at top of screen that says "wiki"? Go there, select HTC VISION, follow the instructions. THAT IS THE BEST GUIDE.
I got my G2 in a trade on Friday night, and had it rooted by Saturday. I tried a Villain 2.2 ROM Sunday, and decided to flash CM7 last night. Couldn't have been easier.
I used this guide to gain perm root, it took like 30 min after I read it about 10 times to make sure I got it all straight. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928160
Skip the engineering hboot part, you don't need it and it's too risky for noobs. Good luck guys.

It doesn't matter if it says desire Z right? There's no difference between the Z and g2 as for the rooting process

I just recently rooted and flashed my first ROM, and neidlinger's guide helped my tremendously
MyTouch 4G. CyanogenMod 7.0.3
My friend just gave me this phone, as he bought the HTC One. It's running 2.3.4. I have above average experience with rooting/flashing on Samsung devices, but never HTC. Could someone point me in the direction of the easiest way to root this phone and get prepared to flash? I'd prefer not to setup adb and all that jazz on my PC. Any help would be appreciated. Also, maybe a tip on the most stable version of jelly bean. Thanks!
You'll need adb to downgrade. No way around it. You can only get S-Off from Froyo. Use the guide linked in the thread RIGHT BELOW this one. Once downgraded, use the ultimate S-Off thread stickied in development.
