w00t!
check it - ROM 3.35.651.2
Will probably be updating mine tonight after work. Hope it's not brokety-broken..
[EDIT]: Official discussion over at PPCGeeks here.
Does anyone know what determines a particular ROM, device, or provider to upgrade their ROM? For example, ersocia, what version were you running before?
I have a Bell Canada 6800 running ROM v2.13.666.0. Why isn't Bell updating this ROM? Also, what happens if I upgrade to this ROM which is intended for the Sprint Mogul but my device is a Bell 6800? Aren't they the exact same device?

its really up to the provider, and many just dont update (it costs time and money for them, testing and customizing)
lucky for you folks here port the sprint roms to other carriers, keep an eye on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376150 im sure dcd will have a bell rom up soon
dcd kitchen has it.

No this Sprint will not work on your phone. This a Sprint Only Rom
Hi all
I am sure this question has already been answered, but I can not find it, either here or at Modaco. There are threads for the European basebands 21>00, but I can not for the life of me find the US equivalent.
Obviously, I want to get the unlocked Dell baseband for the 2.2 ota update, plus the features that ATT are sure to lock out.
Is there a walkthrough for this? Or at least, a link to the official rom?
Thanks
I would like this too
I am interested in doing this as well. I am guessing ATT will change the market, and will also not have the hotspot feature.
Good question...I'm sending back my locked AT&T Streak so I can re-order an unlocked US Streak once they are available in a week or two. If I could just flash it to the unlocked baseband that would fix everything.

Sorry a bit off topic...
dude that seems like a lot of hazzle why not just call ATT and ask for the unlock number?
If its warranty then I said nothing

Because even if I get an unlock code the 2.2 version that will be pushed out to this phone will still have to be the version approved by them. So that will probably mean no tethering built in. I would rather have 2.2 without AT&T's hands all over it.
This can be done.
I have the official dell 2.2 running on my ATT locked phone. Here is how it can be done, but it wasn't easy and I would not recommend it to a novice.
I am not responsible for any damage you do to your phone, do this at your own risk.
I first tried to flash right too the new firmware and a system image from another forum post, that didn't work and messed up my phone, so I used instructions here hxxp://android.modaco.com/content-page/315825/bricked-streak-after-update-to-2-1-and-rooting/page/48/# to get my phone to O2's 1.6, and then upgrade to O2's 2.2. These instructions also have you on the 21 baseband.
I then used instructions and a download from DJ Steve's post here hxxp://android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/323484/2-2-out-for-us-bets-streaks/ to flash my firmware and a system img and a boot image, and now my ATT locked streak is at 00 firmware and running the official dell 2.2 froyo build. I don't have to worry about ATT locking my apps, and I also can install apk's that aren't from the android market.
Hello all. I just ordered my Streak today from Rogers, which I believe is ATT's northern brother so to speak. Why can't we just run Vanilla Android 2.2 on our Streak's?? It was my understanding that once full root was achieved it was a matter of porting the OS to our device. Now, im no dev so im probably talking out of my a$$ here, but its been done on the HTC HD2 which is a freaking Win Mobile phone! So why can't someone, say, port the Nexus One 2.2 rom over to the Streak?? Man this stuff confuses me. Is there an "Android for Dummies" text out there?
Yes, I am running the 00 BB and the Official Update. http://android.modaco.com/content/d...how-to-install-official-dell-2-2-upgrade-pkg/
If I do this to make my at&t streak essentially an unlocked dell unit because of the 00 baseband, will I still automatically get update notifications in the future when they are released for the unlocked models? or if an update for like 2.3 ever comes out will we need to manually find a way to install that update on the phone using like fastboot because the phone has been modified from an at&t model to an unlocked dell one?
Basically I just want to know if the automatic download and install notifications for new software (gingerbread) that may come out later will still work and it would just give us the unlocked dell version of the software instead of the at&t one?
Thanks Homiss
I'm giving that guide a go now.
Will post back later
When I go to flash the 6267 build I get to the recovery and tell it to do software upgrade via Update.pkg and then it goes to a black screen and stays there. Nothing happens after that. I have gone through the process on http://android.modaco.com/content/d...l-official-dell-2-2-upgrade-pkg/#entry1481942 5+ times now trying to get it to work. I had a 1.6 US AT&T streak. flashed to O2 1.6 just fine then this issue.
A big thanks to homeiss
Followed the instructions posted over at Modaco and flashed the Official 2.2
Dell Streak - US ATT (Unlocked by ATT)
-- Was on O2 - 2.1 (for about 3 weeks after using the homeiss guide for upgrading/downgrading)
Today:
--- Followed the instructions to downgrade to O2 - 1.6 (4399)
--- Followed the instructions to get 00 baseband and 1.6 (6267) flashed
--- Followed the instructions to get 309_00_00 - 2.2 flashed

I was finally able to get mine working as well. Some things I like about froyo and some things I don't. I miss the notification bar and menu bar from 1.6. Stage isn't that great.

i was going to upgrade too with this package untill i realised that there is a european and an american version. the difference in here lies probably in the radio frequenties used/enabled. with the engineer app one can enable these again so that shouldnt be much of a problem. have no idea what else is different.
edit: seems eu version has few apps more and radiofrequencies are different.

Do you remember what was your baseband and build when you were in O2 2.1?
(just trying to see if your starting point is the same as mine)
Thanks

Hello fellow Canuck
I was on O2 - 2.1 (8105) with a baseband of 21
Using the pages suggested by Homiss, I have managed to get to the O2 1.6 build (4399).
But even though I can modify system files after using Universal Androot, I can not get su?! I have used a few different terminal emulators, my preference being connectbot and they all report 'permission denied.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong? I am stuck with 4399 at the moment which is slow, and has the flashing led issue! very uncool...

Thank you Homeiss!!!
Hi Everyone,
I have an HTC Desire 8182 running Cyanogenmod 6.1 RC 1. Absolutely love the phone. However, I just ordered a Dell Streak direct from Dell (but locked to Rogers - Canada). Unfortunately, this Streak will be stuck at 1.6, and I really would like to get Dell's new release of 2.2 since the reviews coming in are so good.
I would like to stick to Dell's release of 2.2 since everything will be guaranteed ( or at least almost guaranteed ) to work, instead of a custom ROM. However, as I understand it - Dell's release is only available OTA.
My question is - is there any way I can download and install Dell's 2.2 manually in Canada? I have Googled for a solution, but it seems that since 2.2 has been released in the US - there aren't too many people asking about this.
Help would be appreciated. Thanks

Not Android Development Please Post in the correct forum

Hi, thanks for the reply. I went through one of the stickies in this forum that directed me to go to MoDaCo. At MoDaCo I found this thread :
android.modaco.com/content/dell-streak-streak-modaco-com/323902/official-dell-streak-rom-overview/
It basically has links to different .pkg files that are hosted on Dell's Update Server.
Two questions:
1.I thought Dells Update Server wouldn't allow you to download the update unless you used their Desktop program. Or can I just download it regardless?
2.Is it as easy as flashing the .pkg file?
Help please
Anybody here living in Toronto, Canada that really knows the ways of ROM upgrading for the Dell Streak. If you could help me install the official 2.2 update from Dell, I will be more than happy to give you a cash donation in exchange for ROM upgrading service for my Unlock Beta Dell Streak with a baseband of GAUB1A120521-US and currently running on DJSteve's 2.2 version1
We can meet up at malls like Eaton Centre or Yorkdale Mall or coffee shops at Toronto area for you to do the ROM updating on my streak
Please pm me your number, so we can set up the meet up as soon as possible.
Thanks.

I also have a streak which started life with the EU 6267 and I sm now on the 12332 build. I wss previusly on the 11548. The best way is to go back to 1.6 4399, then back to 6267. This I belueve is the only way. Follow tjis link on your pc. Because it does not work on the 2.2 ;-)
http://android.modaco.com/content/d...m/317549/how-to-go-back-from-21-to-00-builds/
And when you finally get to the step where you are attempting to install the 6267 package you will need to make sure you use the attached recovery image. Otherwise you get the FOTA mismatch problem. Let me know if you need more help.

Hi, just bought a T-mobile Mytouch 3G (not the slider version) from Newegg, and people have talked about froyo being pushed automatically. It hasn't happened after a day being left on yet.
There were posts from November with links to files to manually update the phone from 1.6 to 2.2 but those links don't seem to work anymore.
Any way to get stock 2.2 rom anymore anywhere?
Thanks much,
Dan.
