I've noticed that sometimes I have to restart my phone to stop video playback lag.... I was wondering if anyone has had this issue. I have usb debug on but the problem is really random so I don't know if its an app causing the issue or what. But its really only with video playback... strange.

You need to try logging it because without that any answer will either be a guess or a problem someone else is having but may be caused by something completly different...
Give aLogcat (from the market) a try and set it to save the logs or "adb logcat"... then do what you did again and hopefully it randomly happens so you can see what it is fast... lol that's the only bad part with random is waiting for it to happen again

Has anyone seen this?
Not sure what caused it to pop up, but it came up after I tried to install the manual lag fix linked in the vibrant6 thread. Then went away shortly after I rebooted. Just thought I'd ask if anyone had an idea of the purpose of this.
Hey dude. Very strange as I got this about half an hour ago. Had to restart and some of my widgets had loading problems and had to be restored.
Haven't noticed any other issues but weird and slightly disconcerting. Fyi, I have stock firmware (dxjg4) and no lag fix so even stranger. Also Galaxy I 9000.

Hi Guys I have the T-mobile G2 running stock software-hasn't been rooted or anything. I've noticed that the phone will stop audiable notifiations and vibrate on then for unknown reason. It does that eventually every time after reboot, the only way to fix it is to reboot the phone or if I receive incoming call it will resume the notifying and the vibration on the notifications again. It is rather weird and If you guys know what might be causing it or how to fix it please let me know. I know there are more people out there having the same issue. I wonder why is noone complaining about it?
Thank you.
Have you tried to disable "Power Saver"? (Menu-Settings-Power Saver)

I do not have such an option on my phone-I have the T-mobile G2 not the Desire Z-maybe there is a difference there in the options menu...I don't run the HTC sense version....
Root your phone, flash some DZ ROM and then do what i said before
Now seriously. Sorry, that was my bad..
Does anyone think this is an issue worth looking into? If anyone has the same issue please advise if you have found a way to fix it. It does look like software issue to me just don't know what is causing it....
Come on guys, does anyone have the same issue? Any way to fix that without rooting and using a custom ROM?
Help is appreciated...

This used to happen to me all the time... on a few different stock android devices.
Notifications would just stop working. NO sound. I would go into Handcent and do a "Test Notification" and there would be no sound.
Always happened after having the phone on for several hours. I just got in the habit of rebooting daily. Currently I'm on Cyanogen Mod and haven't noticed an issue recently.
But like I said it has happened to me on 4 android devices all running various versions of Android.. so I'm guessing it's an app combo that I have.
I'm on CM6 and this happens to me randomly too
Yep, mine doesn't vibrate on sms notifications. Vibrates for incoming calls ok though. I only noticed it a few days ago. Hmmmm,.... Using CM6.1
I see, I am also guessing it's software related just don't know what is causing it...
The strange part is that when I reboot the phone shortly after it will stop notifying me or vibrating on notifications and after I receive a call it will start working normally again-until the next reboot-it is weird...

Hi there Everyone, I do feel that this is somewhat of an issue,
I have HTC G2 t-mobile running Cyangenmode 7-10 Rc
My issue of no sound notifications started after I updated the Rom
I was running 2.2.1 now it is 2.3.4.
I keep getting DSP manager error, and this will pop up when I make a phone call or if I have an in coming call. (and I hear some static noise) that part is not as annoying as the fact
Some times during the week (when I am at work and need the phone to be quiet) I will get actually get sound, and then on the weekend I don't
Not sure what is going on. with this I have been looking on line to find a solution I have tried a few but still no luck, Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Blessings from Moondaughter6
Hi everyone. Im trying to find out if anyone has any suggestions for a problem my wife is having on her Atrix. Her Atrix is completely stock with the most up to date updates installed.
She often lets our son look at youtube videos and sometimes (actually often) the phone will completely freeze. The only way to get it back to normal is with a battery pull. My son uses my phone for youtube also. I have an Atrix unlocked and rooted. I dont think that mine has ever froze while he is using it.
Can anyone say why this might happen and how to correct it?
First thing I'd try is clearing the YouTube data in settings.
Then go to the Android Market and search "YouTube". Sometimes they have a "manual update" hiding in there.
If that doesn't work I'd clear the phone cache, then dalvic cache if the phone cache doesn't work.
Finally if all else fails (and you have no 3rd party security App installed to cause any conflicts) then I'd go for the factory reset...

Thanks. I will try your suggestions and see what happens.

I'm sure I can't be the only one with this problem, but I haven't saw any posts about it. I play Texas Holden a lot on my phone, and I have had a problem with some Roms, turning off WiFi automatically. I've assumed its a power saving issue. However I have disabled the setting to never touch my data connection when the screen sleeps. I would tell you which Rom, but its not just 1 of them, I've had it happen on a few of them. If you are a dev, or experienced user, you probably know what I'm talking about. In other words, if you don't use your WiFi for a minute or so, it times out, which is a problem with some games because the app doesn't always send or recieve data and if its more tha a minute or so it causes me to get booted off the game server. Is there a way to keep WiFi from timing out? Ever?

Never had that problem. Usually setting the wifi sleep policy to "never" fixes it. If its not then...?
I hate to ask but I have to, do you format /system between flashes, and has this been on multiple kernels?
No I don't, should I? I have never formatted my system.

And its mostly been on sense 3.5 Roms

Always, always, always format system when flashing a ROM.
It will save you countless headaches.
Hi,
I have a weird issue, I hope you guys can help me.
While my phone is staying idle, after a while, even when there is no notification, the screen half-lights up after a random period, and stays like that until I press the lock button.
Has anyone experienced it? What could be the issue? May there be a setting misconfiguration?
Also, may that be related to WiFi?
I'm on stock Rom with latest update.
Thanks in advance,

Where can I check the wakelocks? Do I have to dig each installed apps separately?
Edit: Will this work?
