flashing lights rogers. - Streak 5 General

hello, i do not have adapter to hook my sd up to computer. The update.zip was corrupt i flshed steves amss. now i got flashing lights and my comp wont see the sd card so i cant put update.zip on there again. i got unknown baseband. just looking for rogers original amss so i can start over again,

Did you make a nandroid backup of the original Rogers ROM before you started the flashing process? If you did, just use the CM recovery and restore it (if the phone can see your SD) then start from scratch. I have been looking for the original Rogers ROM build 7921 without any success so far.

Ok i have my nandroid ,i will upload it when i can , try to find someone who can turn the nandroid to an update zip or pkg

[Q] [Help Request] HTC Wildfire wont boot into android

Ok, I've managed to successfully root my phone a couple of months back using unrevoked (no problems there).
Recently Vodafone UK (my carrier) has released an OTA android 2.2 update which i was having trouble installing. I decided to attempt to un-root my phone and in my wisdom used the clockword Recovery mod to "Partitions menu > format boot"
believing that the factory default "boot" would be restored (big mistake) To make things worse i didnt make a backup of the boot partition using the "nandroid" option within clockworkmod (it seams obvious in hindsight)
anyway my current problem is that i'm stuck with a phone that wont boot into android and only my self to blame. Bellow are the current screens/options that i am able to access.

After doing some research/googling i came across this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-807509.html
which in turn lead me to this file:
http://rapidshare.com/#!download|38l34|419254202|PC49IMG.zip|126004
The file which it says is missing. Once i have an SD micro card reader (going out to purchase one tomorrow) i am going to attempt to place this file on the sd card (in the boot partition?!) and use it to try and boot from.
My question(s):
Will this work?
Do i have any other options?
Is it possible to find and download someone elses backup file and use clockwork to restore from that?
Any and all help will be much appreciated!
EDIT: Apologies for posting this thread twice, I didn't know which forums to post in.
I would advise you to install a new rom via recovery. Download wildpuzzle or something. You do not need to buy card reader. If you cannot do this, I advise you to goto the stock roms website and download the 2.1 ruu and flash that then re root using un revoked

so all i have to do is simply run the RUU while the phone is connected? no need for a "gold card or similar?
Flash the wildpuzzle rom first try that and it should work.
thanks, this worked.

Hi,
I am getting the same problem that my Wildfire doesn't get pass thru the splash screen after the OTA update.
I tried this steps.
any advise you can give me?
thanks.
1st, You need a wildpuzzle rom 2.2.1 (V0.6 gives 165mb) Wildpuzzle rom 2.2.1 download page
2nd, Make sure that you BACKUP your SD card (copy whole SD card to computer).
3rd, Move wildpuzzle rom 2.2.1 that you have already downloaded to the SD card (DONT delete the copy in computer).
4th, You need to WIPE ALL THE DATA (wipe/factory reset) in your wildfire and make sure that you have already made a backup of your rom before wiping.
5th, Make sure that you backup your SD card with your BACKUP (backup-ed rom).
6th, Run in recovery mode and select wipe/factory reset the data.
7th, Choose install zip from SD and install your wildpuzzle rom 2.2.1.
***I only get
"E:failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (No such file or directory)
E:signature verification failed
Installation Aborted

[Q] Is there anything to fix my phone?

I rooted my phone today. And everything was great.
I installed Clockwork. And applied CM 7.
I of course backed up my previous rom and everything was going smoothly until everything was completed.
My phone boot up as normal and then it got stuck in the CM logo.(now when I see a blue android skating I might puke)
So I tried to restore my previous rom but clockwork is defective. I selected 'backup and restore' and then nothing shows up in the screen..
Is there anything I can do to fix my phone?
I love this phone so much I really wanna fix it.
Any ideas?
since you are rooted, download the CM7 rom again (zip file) and put it on your SD card, then flash it from the recovery
Do all your flashing and backups from recovery, not from rom manager. You can confirm your backup exists by going to sdcard/clockworkmod/backups. If you did your original backup through rom manager, there's a good chance it's corrupted. Reflash cm7 from recovery if you can't restore your backup.

I'm having basically the same problem. I just downloaded the cyanogenmod rom and put it on my sd card but I'm not sure how to flash it. Do i keep it as a zip and install it using the install update.zip thing? cause that gave me an error. Or do i extract it and put it in my backup folder and try to flash it using the restore option? Or is there some other option Im missing?
Thanks in advance
Ah ok I figured it out, I was trying to use the .zip for the a different model phone. I got it all working, thanks for the help guys!

Restore boots to recovery loop

I sent in my Vibrant for replacement hoping to improve the GPS.
Before sending it I was running 'stock" 2.2 KB5 and had rom manager and CWM installed. I did a full restore, and copied the backup directory to the external SD.
When I got the exchanged phone it was running stock 2.1. I rooted it and installed
rom manger and CWM, and copied the backup directory back to the internal SD.
I did the full restore with no errors except
.android_secure.img not found. Skipping restore of /sdcard/.android_secure
sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext.
However, now when I reboot it keeps coming back to recovery. The Vibrant logo comes up for a bit, goes to black, goes back to logo, and then into recovery.
Is there anything I can do to recover from this?
turn phone off
unplug battery
turn on odin
attach phone to pc with usb cable
now while holding down the 2 volume buttons put back in battery.
As u put battery back in while holding down both volume buttons ur phone should go into download mode. Now go back to stock odin!
BUT MAKE SURE U HAVE PROPER SAMSUNG DRIVERS.
Yes, I'm familiar with ODIN. I did this to my original vibrant before sending it for replacement.
My real issue is that I want to restore the state I was in when I did the backup. I can certainly ODIN back to 2.1 and repeat the restore just as I described above, but I expect the same problem.
Is there a variation of the procedure? Are the errors I listed relevant to the problem?
Clockwork does not back up your kernel so you're restoring 2.2 with a 2.1 kernel. Either upgrade to 2.2 first or flash a 2.2 kernel in recovery before you do your restore

Thanks! That was the issue.
I had to Kies to 2.2. Which meant besides rooting, I needed to go through the mess of replacing the 3e recovery with a non-signature checking 3e so that CWM could get installed.
Is there in fact a backup facility that backs up everything (including kernel)?

i9000 unable to boot

Hi everyone
Last week I tried to flash Paranoid Android 2.52 over Slim 2.8, but then my phone started to bootloop. I was unable to get it to boot into recovery, only download mode. Flashing a stock ROM with and without .pit file and repartition would not let it boot. I tried to flash various versions of Semaphore with Odin, it succeeded but the phone still wouldn't boot into recovery. I tried CF-Root JW4 4.4 with success, it booted into recovery, but flashing a stock ROM still couldn't make it boot.
So I flashed Semaphore 2.5.0 through CWM, but from this recovery I can't flash anything, can't restore any backup and can't mount partitions like /data and /system. Does someone knows how could I bring my GS back to life ? Thanks.
I've used odin to root and flash cwm on the SII, SIII and Note I and II, I'm hoping it's similar. Have you already started from scratch? Flashed stock and then try and root again and go from there? See if there is a 'superwipe' option in any of the forums for your device to completely wipe it, storage and everything.

As I said, I tried to flash stock GB ROM first, I think that's what you mean by start from scratch, but it seems like I can only flash kernels... I'm gonna check for a superwipe.
Edit : it seems like there's no superwipe for i9000...

try to format everything ( after you have saved your important files to PC) in CWM and than go into download mode and flash a JVU ROM +Root +CWM with 512 pit from My Android Collection
Need to know what is your phone model . Check Here to chose your forum/Guide by Version of your phone or you will have more problems by using wrong solutions due to different versions of Galaxy S
you can get a rescue kit from My Android Collections and or a solution from My Android Solutions
Need a guide, look into My Guides and Manuals
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card, after flashing and reboot , insert them back
Tips before Flashing:-
Backup all your important files, contacts, SMS, game data, images etc to PC or Ext SD card. or make Nanadroid Backup If you have CWM
Backup your EFS Folder to PC or Ext SD card
Enable USB Debugging on Phone. Touch menu> Settings> Applications> Development>
Charge your battery to more than 50% before you attempt any sort of flashing.
Disable Samsung KIES when using Odin. Kill Kies.exe, KiesTrayAgent.exe, & KiesPDLR.exe using Task Manager on PC
Use only ROM and solution for your model and Wipe x3
My phone is the international GS (i9000). I can't even format the partitions =/ I already tried the 1 minute power button manip, without SIM card and SD, and it didn't help me flash... What ROM should I try ? Froyo, GB, one in particular ?
