Just got a streak and I love it. My only problem is its randomly restarted 3 times tonight. The phone is used and I'm unsure if the phone has been altered or it is stock.
Here's the info:
Firmware: 2.1-update 1
Baseband: GAUSB1A120321-US
Kernel: 2.6.29-perf
No superuser icon either.
If this is a problem, forgive me for not spending more than 5 min to search, can someone give me a link or is this a persistent problem?
Thanks

Thanks
Lee
What firmware are you using?
If you use CyanogenMod beta than this is a known issue.
Firmware is 2.2.1
Kernel: 2.6.32.9 [email protected]#1
Build: Darky's v7.0
Its bloody annoying
I would suggest reflasgin a new firmware/rom

I just went from Darky version 6 to 7 and still the same issue, ive also changed the kernel....
its more a crackling noise than anything....
Flash a stock rom, go back all the way to eclair if necessary and see if the problem is still there.
ive just factory reseted the phone and the noise and gone...... Software related then... :-(
Ignore that, its still happening, will swap the phone out me thinks
Hi,
I'm starting to have random reboots since the new update 2.3.4. Anyone else having problems ?
- I have the Fido Nexus S (i9020A)
- CWM 3.0.2.5 for i9023 (as specified in the thread to root)
- Rooted
It was ok (some reboots during calls, but not when the phone is just sitting there like it does now) with 2.3.3
Thanks in advance
Mine rebooted 3 times today.
First time I've seen it happen on 2.3.4 and it's aggravating.
It happened on my 2.3.1 and 2.3.2
I'm i9020xxkd1
I have not seen it on mine as of yet, I have just rooted and installed CWR so I will see if it changes and let you know.
What I had done before upgrading was to flash back to complete stock 2.3.3 then perform the upgrade to 2.3.4
No random reboots on mine so far. My phone is stock, unrooted.
Mine has worked great also but it is stock, also unrooted.
Hi

I haven't had any reboots with v2.3.3 or now with v2.3.4 using a Rogers Nexus S model 9020a. I'm running stock and not rooted.
Maybe rooting causes this issue as the only posts with issues are all rooted?
I've been running mine rooted for a day, used it pretty heavily with no issues. I did have a reboot loop in 2.3.3 but that was with Beautiful Widgets.
So far no reboots while in call with 2.3.4 (knock on wood), as it was bad with 2.3.3. Manually installed 2.3.4 within a few days after its release, and have had a few disconnected (dropped) calls - but not a full reboot of the phone itself.
One might say this is T-Mobile, but in the 9 years I've been with T-Mobile, I've never had a problem with dropped calls before. So I can't help but wonder if this is a 2.3.4 issue, since it didn't happen before 2.3.4.
While annoying, at least it's not as bad as a full phone reboot.

Yep I'm comming with the same conclusion. It's pretty lame since there's no way I'm going back to unrooted, guess I'll have to deal with it until someone finds what program is causing this.
I'm getting about 2-3 reboots an hour, this is getting serious. Any way to obtain the crash log or something to tell me what's causing this? I've read logcat wasn't really reliable.

Got a random reboot today, updated version yesterday.

Seems to have something to do with the SETCPU app. I'll try changing some of my profiles. When my phone is full charged, I don't have any problem, but as soon as it gets kinda low, I can have 4-5 reboots an hour or 0... all comes down to luck.

I am having reboots during calls. happened twice yesterday
I have a 9020a running 2.3.4 updated manually via CWM.
no reboot, fido 9020A in stock, unrooted
So today I manually updated my Samsung Nexus S to 2.3.6 and after it finished installing it was stuck at the splash screen. The graphics were moving but the phone was frozen. I took out the battery and rebooted the phone only to find out out I have the no service bug. I was about to download and install the radio patch from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116884 but when I get into the bootloader and click on recovery first I get a box with an arrow pointing out with the android and than the android with the exclamation point. I'm not sure whats wrong.

Press volume up and power button. Your phone is not broke the stock recovery does that for everyone. Might take a few attempts.

Haa got it took about 10 tries though. Thank you.
it should work right off the bad, just by holding those 2 buttons properly

Hey everyone, my first post to the Forums!! I am new to the android scene, finally got rid of my iPhone5 for a GS4. The guy I bought the phone from has Kangabean installed, i was reading around on the forum for a few days before deciding to post this question.
I'm trying to back up my phone using Kies, and my phone will not connect. It shows the connecting part, recognizes my GT-I9505G and then spins endlessly. Basically i would like to put my phone back to a stock ROM and start from scratch.
Here is what i have done: Hopefully i didn't mess anything up?!?!
#1 installed Kies from the Samsung website.
#2 connected my phone with no success.
#3 tried 3 different cables
#4 ran the connection error and reinstalled the drivers 3 or 4 times now.
#5 removed Kies and tried to re-install the program
#6 used Super U? and removed the root (read somewhere on the forum about this)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

You should post this in the i9500, i9505, i9505g forum. They can probably give you more help. But I'd read and research Odin and how to flash the stock firmware.

Install odin, get your stock firmware and revert back to stock. Seriously doubt KIES works on anything other than factory firmware. I could be wrong.

forget kies.
here's the i9505g boards: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2162
here's a thread within those boards that relates to your question: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477
search > read > understand. do all 3 of those and it'll be smooth sailing.
Ive been having issues with my d800, no matter what rom/kernel i use it randomly reboots i guessing because it over heats because it gets hot and then boot loops, i have to manually power off and let phone cool before powering on again. Also alot of the times i press the power but or double tap to turn the screen on and it doesn't come on, it is illuminated lightly but its still black I rooted using iroot25 and autorec for recovery. The most stable rom I've found was Candykat and i still get a reboot every once in a while but it boots right back up. I've tried re flashing tot/dll with lg flash tools a couple times now that works fine, and rooting works fine. its just about any rom i use it has issues, could this be a hardware issue? Also Ive tried cwm/twrp/philscwm recoveries and that didn't make a difference. i am using d800 roms just to clear that up. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Baseband version- M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190082
Kernel version- 3.4.0-slim-4.4.2-kk+ [email protected] #1 Fri Jul 11 20:41:49 EDT 2014
CandyKat version- Ck-v1.5.5 Official-20140711
This is my current setup and it seems to work the best, also im not using a kernel tuner right now.
Please ask if you need more info.Ill try to get a logcat if someone can help. im not new to this and it just has me stumped.
Thanks Matt

Hello, I'm having the exact same issues like you, I have my phone for over a year and started with this problem, I have the last Optimus for the AT&T version, do you find a solution?

Yes, well sort of. I sold the phone and they took it apart and apparently the person I bought it off of, had d800 factory covers and the internals were d802 and it also had an d800 ROM so I didn't know ant different. But I'm not sure if that's your issue or not

Sometime just cooldown the phone by Puting it in a plastig bag and in the freeze sova that.
Thermal don't load properly during boot.
