Gingerbread - Streak 5 General

When should we start thinki g about gingerbread for our streaks.... its released by google isnt it ?

I would have my doubts as to whether Dell would release Gingerbread on the DS.
Would be better if they stayed with the same form factor but had 768mb ram and a dual core snapdragon.

Gingerbread has not been released by Google yet.

Wildfire is worth for buying to mini pro?
Main reason to sell mini pro is still can't crack the bootloader.
It having stable old 2.1rom but no stable froyo or gingerbread due to can't update kernel.
Or any other suggestions for that price?

IMO, it will be worth waiting for the Wildfire S.

In that case, even the Wildfire has only a TFT Screen. Yes, it has the advantage of 384MB RAM, but, with it's anemic CPU and no GPU, its not really that big of an advantage as it appears.
I would need to know your budget. If you can extend it to 21-22K, you can get the Desire actually. But, either way, I think it would be better for you to wait for the release of the next generation of the HTC devices in India. Even if they prove to be beyond your budget, it will atleast provide price drops on the existing ones. (As the Desire HD had on the Desire. Cost of Desire before DHD Launch was ~27k, and, after that, it settled at ~22k)
EDIT: Just saw your sig, and you have an SGS. Why would you want the Wildfire?

Don't think so. Just look up ZTE Blade on GSMArena. It shows it does have a 3.5" headset jack. Also, doing a search for "Dell XCD35 on Google" brings up just one result which shows that the XCD35 doesn't have one, all the others state it does have one.
Anyway, since you are on the lookout for a small mobile, as I said in my first post in this thread, wait for the Wildfire S. It will probably the best fit for you.

Wildfire S does have the Adreno 200 GPU. Not the Wildfire. It doesn't have any. The Wildfire S should be available before July, but, if you can't make it, the only viable alternatives I see is the LG Optimus One P500, which should fit your needs as as well.
Other alternatives would be the Samsung Galaxy 3, Galaxy 551, Videocon Zeus Evolve V7500 (lol), SE Xperia X10 Mini / Pro, SE Xperia X8 and the original LG Optimus GT540.
But, even then, go for one of the two: Wildfire S / LG O1 P500, in my view
Good Luck
Thanks man for your help.

Your thoughts on Gingerbread release for the Samsung Vibrant.

Hello,
Just wanted your thoughts on the Official Gingerbread for Vibrant.
Do you think it will ever come?
Do you even care?
Any feedback is appreciated .
Cm7 is gingerbread so its already out lol
Need help with cm7? Pm me I can try to help
I don't think about it because I don't care. Gingerbread for the Vibrant 3G is the last thing on Samsungs list.
i have cm7 so i could care less! i will be getting the hercules in a few months anyway
The Gingerbread ROMS are already pretty smooth and nice so I no longer care about the stock one which they seem that don't even WANT to update.
Whatev's when I get the chance I will be buying the SGSII.
...When it doesn't cost a lung for me lol
It's not going to happen.
And neither will me buying another Samsung mobile device, ever.
Ditto.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
Probably not coming since the Galaxy S 4G is essentially the successor to the original Vibrant. It would be a terrible sales decision for T-Mobile to support the older model, especially when the two are almost identical except for 4G, an FFC, and the lack of internal storage on the 4G.
I hate u guys.
I guess my best bet is to hunt craigslist for a nexus s.

I wouldn't mind waiting, I've played around with the 4g vibrant, and I like the 3g model better. The ffc is no big deal with me.
But I have a gut feeling that it will be early next year before we get a 2.3 from tmobile.

Sorry, but current dual cores devices are useless and equally as fast as the Nexus S since ICS is yet to be released to optimize Android for multicore devices. You may as well get the one phone guaranteed to get ICS which will increase the Nexus's speed as well. The G2X looks like its not getting ICS and the Sensation would be bogged down by Sense again. Galaxy S2, maybe.
No offense because the 2.3 Roms out right now are smooth. But they straight murder the battery life. Why have a mobile device if you a charge every 8 hours.

No, I held out hope because Samsung promised and promised and promised, and there was a BIG media hullabaloo about the lack of timeliness on the 2.2 update.
Samsung has had exactly ONE press release saying they're putting 2.3 on "all" Galaxy S phones and nobody in the media is talking about a lack of update. Basically, it's as if no-one cares, Samsung included. Only a few people on forums are making any fuss about it, and everybody knows forums in general fly fairly low under the radar.
I still say we're not going to see it, and even if Samsung delivers it before the end of the year, it's far too little far too late. I have no desire to reward their failures and apathy with more purchases.
edit: Oh, and you can thank the ****ing SGS 4G for the lack of an update. IT'S getting 2.3 leaks left and ****ing right, and the rumor is from devs in the know that there isn't even 2.3 source code in existence for the Vibrant.

You are right the good thing about dual cores is one core is incharge of one process and other core incharge of another process. This would probably be best for me as I am constantly studying in school, and switch between apps really fast and single core just cant take from browser to xxxx app to xxxx app and back to browser without it getting stuck!?
If you got like 15 apps and just use it for ROMS and GPS and shiny fast things then by all means stick with the Galaxy S.

Infuse,Atrix or G2x

Hi guys I've been using X10 for enough time now -nearly 8 months- and want to change
I have three offers now
Infuse 4G
LG G2x (+25$)
Atrix. (+50$)
I'm asking you what wud u prefer in terms of Hardware, performance.,Style and UI and most importantly "development"?
Sorry I'm asking here cause here are the members I trust.want 2 know ur opinions pls..

My favorite is atrix. 1Ghz Tegra 2 paired with 1Gb Ram is awesome, and the qHD screen it higher density too. Just for your info, it has a firgerprint scanner too!
And i think its official CM support is on the way too.
While G2x has the same processor, 512Mb ram but with official CM support.
I planning to get myself atrix next year though XD
yeah between those three definitely atrix

In my case would be the infuse(4g phone with a ginormous super amoled screen) but atrix is better in the long road
Sent from my X10a using xda premium
atrix for me,then if you cant get it go for g2x
Atrix! believe me, you will be surprised by its raw processing power...
So u guys don't prefer optimus 3D? I saw a video on youtube atrix vs optimus 3D and the latter was much faster
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i'll saw both are equally good, but the 1GB ram in Atrix is a not match for 3D. 1Gb is more future proof.
guys, I am also considering Atrix, LG O2X and Xperia Arc. I can get these for the same price.
I use my phone mostly for browsing the web and reading the RSS. have anyone of X10 users seen the pentile display of Atrix? Have read that the fonts are not always clear, depending on the background.
Atrix is winning as the android phone with the best battery life (source) but I fear that the display would be a downgrade.
Thanks.
P.S.: sorry for hijacking the thread, but I think this is on topic and useful for OP.

[Q] HTC one x

What are your thoughts?
Is this enough for you to leave T-Mobile for AT&T?
Just posted about the One S which is coming to t-mobile, check the general section for the link...will be dual core with sense 4.0 out of the box...think I will be staying myself, though at&t's version does sound better...
Nothing short of a gun to my head would make me switch to AT&T - A.K.A. the slime of humanity. Even then I'd have to think about it.
You know humanity has gone down the toilet when people are willing to chase a phone to join a carrier that they hate, because leasing (yeah, I said leasing) a phone that is grossly overpowered to perform phone-like tasks, is a life-defining event.
Then again, it already happened numerous times over with the iPhone, so why not with the One X?
I have never been on AT&T, only Sprint and T-mobile. I am not thrilled about Tmo as I think Sprint was better for me in my area. I just think it is a shame that tmo gets the second hand htc one..s.. Then they have the nervous to go and announce it as if it is a game changer
you guys do know that the HTC One X on AT&T is also a dual core processor right?
only the International version of the HTC One X will be Quad Core...

If im correct I read from a site which all said that T-Mobile will get the Tegra 3 version that AT&T Snapdragon S4. Also a stock version of Ice Cream Sandwich (Plus the Beats & Camera) as well like how they did with LG Optimus 2X which got rid of all 'LGs' things etc.
Now my 'opinion'.
The Snapdragon S4 is a better choice and its a shame its only for AT&T. Reason?
Dual Core Cortex A-15 'More Power efficient' which means less heat plus manufactured on a 'die' of 28nm. This phone should be hard to get hot or even warm.
Im sure many of you had a dual core phone, seriously how hot does that get while playing game? Galaxy S2 for example, or even Galaxy Nexus :\!
Nevermind Quad A9! The Companion Core won't kick in when your gaming...
