[Q] Blur SMS - Droid X General

Could some post the original Blur sms apk.
Thank you.

here's what I got. my phone is de-odexed though. so I am not sure if you need the de-odexed version or the odexed version. I am also not sure whether or not the messaging.apk is dependent on other blur .apk's
As usual "...I assume no responsibility blah blah blah..."
hope this is what you need.

when i wanted the blur SMS on an AOSP rom it required more than just that one, i had to put on like 3 or 4. ill dig around and see if i still have all the .apks i put on

Good call 333. I figured there were more than one necessary. Nice to know.

Rootin no0b

Hello All,
as you can see from the title im a no0b ad Rooting the CDMA, while i have rooted and updated the ROM, i had a few questions the first rom that i have Found was the Fresh 1.1 Rom, I have since found the modaco ROM,
is there any major difference,
Also I cant seem to Update the Themes VIA "update.Zip" as it freezes so im assuming the themes i find are for different ROM builds.
Anyone that can toss me into the right Direction would greatly be thanked

you need to be really carefull where you are getting the themes from if you mess up and flash something for a GSM hero onto your phone it will brick it. I dont know where you are getting them from but I would make sure you stay in this sub forum untill you really have a grip on whats going on.
and if you are getting them from this forum then they may not be made for the rom that you are using.
do a search for metamorph its the easiest way to theme your phone if your new.

they are both great ROMs but my personal tase goes to the Fresh ROMs I think more than anything it comes down to 2 things
1: I like the rosie in Fresh compared to the stock one in MoDaCo
2: I like the fact that Flipz has removed a lot of the bloatware thats in the stock ROm where the MoDaCo ROM leaves everything in there along with adding some programs in. the only things I pushed back to Fresh where peep, IM, Sprint TV, and location service.
on top of that I have now added MoDaCo's custom kernel 1.1 and things seem much faster but who knows could be the placibo effect. and I have moded a lot of the fresh APKs. Changing the Dialer Changing the icons to the 2.1 icons added one of Noj's lockscreens and so on and so forth so I have really personalized Fresh Rom and its kinda hard to move away from that.

Help Build ROM!!

So during the time was ban on XDA for flaming Noob. I have had the time to take a rom of my liking and personalize it to what I believe to be the perfect rom, well for me at least. Now that have everything all together I want to share my creation with the world and Good people here on XDA. But I have no idea how to make everything in to a DOT .zip file. I need help and I was wondering if anyone would care to help me.
What will be included in the rom:
GB launcher2
Galaxy tab TWlauncher clone
OC 1.2ghz Kernel w/ universal lagfixes
Gingerbread style theme w/ a little color
GPS fix
swype
Gb keyboard w/ working vibration and sound
boot-animation.zip
Avatar Movie app
Sims3 app and sims3.apk
Rom manager
Xda app
Root explorer
Superuser
New market app
Android 2.2.1
and more.....
This rom will be a mix of Eugene and masters roms so all thank goes to them and a couple other people on the forum.
Thank You

Hi. I think you'll find a lot of support on XDA for building your own ROM and/or for theming. You've covered a lot of different areas in terms of what you want to do. I have a few recommendations.
1. Do a quick search, either here or in Google, on how to build Android ROMs. There's a lot of good information out there and some of it might resonate with you in terms of how they explain things. That said, if all you're doing is changing a few files around; files you already have, then you would simply add them to, or replace the existing ones from a ROM you like. Just be sure to connect with the developers of that ROM so you can give credit where credit is due. Or, you could start with the Stock ROM and do it that way. But, in either case, you would be essentially using WinZip or some similar app to build the .zip file as you'd like to see it.
2. Consider hooking up with one of the existing developers and start making contributions to their work. That would give you a chance to work with some of the best people who are already doing what you want to do. I think in that case, it wouldn't take too long for you to come up to speed on who they've approached things. Also, this helps you from making some novice mistakes that I'm sure they've made along the way.
Lastly, consider the "value add" of your ROM over those that are already available. If you build something and no one has heard of you and then they don't see your ROM as having anything better or different to offer, then people might not want to use it. For example, Team Whiskey has Obsidian. Then they released Onyx. However, Onyx was materially different than Obsidian in that they removed a lot of the TouchWiz based theming and T-Mobile applications. So, a lot of people saw value in that.
Anyway, good luck. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun!
This thing sounds quite nice! Would you be interested in posting the 2.2.1 build you got your hands on and the GB KB with Vibration? I haven't seen either of those elsewhere.

First, google WINRAR and download it.
Then select all your files, right click and click ARCHIVE and then choose location, name, and wait until its done, and it'll be in a .zip.
Root Explorer is not a free app, so you may want to reconsider adding that as part of your ROM.

[HELP] Star Wars Theme Call Answer Screen

A while back I requested the lockscreen sliders from the R2-D2 Droid2 to be ported to our Glaciers and it was kind enough to have been fulfilled by Rich2Thad. It looks and works great with CM7 RC1. He based it on MrDSL's Mixer Theme. I had also done some personalization to it once he got everything functioning on it. Since RC2 came out and MrDSL released a version of his theme that works with RC2, I went ahead and merged the Star Wars theme with the new Mixer. Everything works great, except the call answer screen. I cannot get it to show the proper lockscreen sliders. I copied the files into the same places that Rich had used in the RC1 version. If anyone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would really appreciate it!
Here's the link to download the RC2 Star Wars theme.
I want to say thank you to MrDSL for his killer Mixer theme. Without it I would not have my super pimp Star Wars theme! And also thank you to Rich2Thad! Because without him I would also not have my super pimp Star Wars theme! It really does make other nerds drool!
I believe the png's you are looking for are in the phone.apk. You can modify them just like the frameworkres.apk. Hopefully this helps you out.
Edit: Just pull the images from the old phone.apk and place them in the new phone.apk.
Sent from my BluMagic Slide using the XDA App
Did you get this working?
No, I never got the call screen working. I tried to edit your most recent theme in apk format to try to get this working too. But whenever I try to install it, it says application not installed. I'm at kind of a loss as to what to try next. :/

It looks correct to me..I assume you're using the apk? After you replaced the images did you resign the .apk? It won't install without being signed..
If you don't know how then attach your modified version of my .apk here and I will sign it for you and repost it when I get home..
Use the newer Mixer_03.apk
edit...after looking at the images you want to replace you would need to use the metamorph file since the theme engine doesnt work with the lock screen..give me a few here
I did not sign it! That would be the reason! I think I can get it signed with Android Commander. Thanks so much for looking at it! If I run into any problems with signing I'll post it up. Thanks again!
EDIT: I looked at your thread on the General Themes forum and it only has Mixer_02.apk
The lock images you will have to use a metamorph on cause they won't work in the apk but all the other images can go directly in the apk..I would go ahead and put all the images there so they are there but the lock screen you will have to use a metamorph..
Follow?
Sorry Mixer_02 cause I havent released Mixer_03 yet.
I'm pretty sure I follow. Just replace the images in your metamorph zip with the images I have for the lockscreen.

and the phone.apk also..they have a couple lock images also.
Thanks so much for all your help man! I cannot wait to get out of class so I can finish building this! And thanks for your badass theme! It is a perfect base!
In your new theme, is it supposed to remove the power control bar in the notification drawer?
EDIT: Nevermind a reboot fixed it. So weird though.
So are you going to share your nifty new Star Wars theme? I was using the old one too but of course have since moved on since it's been "outdated". I'd love to give your new one a try though.

Mostly what he is doing is just replacing some images from my .apk..What you could do is install the Mixer.apk and then just apply his metamorph to it.
So hopefully he will share his metamorph..
Absolutely I will! I just finished it up. I'm getting errors when unzipping my metamorph, but it installs just fine. I got it up and running. I will also upload my version of your theme if you're okay with it.
Okay... I posted the MetaMorph zip in your thread MrDSL. Here is a link to the post.

Hey TJ, glad to be of help.
This is great! Thanks so much, the only question I have is, do you know why messenger will force close when trying to get or send video or files?
Was trying to send a video and it crashed and some audio files for ringtones and it crashes.

You are right, I had not notice because I only tested MMS with pictures. Thanks for the feedback... I will look into it.
Edit: I did some testing and it seems to only crash in GB ROMs. The modded Mms.apk is from a Froyo ROM which leads me to think that it is a compatibility issue of some sort. Which ROM are you using?
hey thanks a lot endoki..i was a lil frustrated wen my mms wasnt working but thanks to u and ur research im glad that i can see pics and stuff..also same problem as others cant get audio files and video to download cant recive any luck on wats going on with that??? thanks again
!!!!!Wow, I was/am so excited to see this in the thread list!!!!!
Does this fix the data dropping issue too or just the MMS?
Looks like long SMS still isn't working, I'll just switch to handsent for that I suppose.
Is there a way to keep the gingerbread mms.apk if we decide we care more for the long sms functionality? Or could you possibly add it as an attachment?
Testing the data now..if it holds out I'll definitely be buying you a cup of Joe
Nope, there it went..I guess this is just for the MMS..do you have any ideas about the data dropping issue?
I'm running GSB 2.6, and data drop is rare for me. I have a pretty clean set up, not extra scripts or flashes aside from GSB, Gapps, and MetrOFF. On the rare occasion I do notice a data drop, enabling and disabling Airplane mode fixes it quickly.

You are much welcome! The modded Mms.apk included in the fix is from a Froyo ROM. I am thinking it is a compatibility issue with GB that is causing it to crash when loading audio/video files... this is pure speculation right now as I have yet to decompile it and explore further. I think it is time to mod a GB Mms.apk and make two separate fixes; one for GB and one for Froyo.

Sorry to bring your hopes down, but nothing yet on the data drop issue. The fix is just for MMS.
About the long SMS, I am looking into modding a GB Mms.apk and making two separate fixes; one for each ROM type, aiming to solve both, long SMS and audio/video loading issues. Meanwhile, I can make a version of the fix that does not include the Mms.apk if you guys want it.

endoki, awesome job brother. I figured since you were working on this, we didn't really need to do a separate rom and glad to see it's working out great this way so far.

[ROM] Blackhole 1.1 Stable Now on Rom Manager (5/7 Release)

The 1.1 Stable Download is available in Rom Manager now with limited options. I will be adding more as I find the time to.
Well, after many hours of trial and error, testing, and confusion I'm very proud to present the first open beta for Blackhole Build-Your-Own Rom on the HTC Thunderbolt.
Standard disclaimer:
While no Custom Rom can ever claim to be completely safe, and the very act of rooting your phone voids your warranty, I do my best to make sure that any Rom I release is fully tested. That said, if something does go wrong I am not responsible for loss of time/money/data/sanity/limbs/life that results directly or indirectly from the use of this Rom. Please enjoy responsibly.
Changelog:
Based on the latest RUU leak (1.13.605.7)
Deodexed
Rooted with Busybox
All bloat removed
Most stock apps removed
Added advanced power options mod
Added apps:
Widget Picker
Remaining stock apps:
Calendar
Camera
Contacts
Gmail
Phone
Setup Wizard
1.1 Changelog:
Added 6 signal bar mod (Thanks TeamBamf)
Added Accurate Battery (Thanks TeamBamf)
Added Transparent Notification Area (Thanks TeamBamf)
Added Power Options in Notification Area(Thanks JSChiSurf)
Various file-system and build.prop tweaks.
Known issues:
Cannot setup additional Gmail accounts past the first, unless connected to a computer via usb (No idea, but I'm working on it) User error.
Occasional reset during first run of Setup Wizard (only happened twice out of 10-20 /data wipes during testing) Fixed in 1.1 update.
Because I cannot test everything I rely on you guys to report any issues you have. Please be specific, let me know what triggers the issue, if you find a workaround, the specific error message you get (if any) and all the detail you can provide.
DATA WIPE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED BUT NOT REQUIRED
Download in Rom Manager
Visit Androiddoes for FAQ's, a list of the latest Rom Manager updates and the official error reporting thread. Also you can find info on how to get early access to the Rom if interested.
Great! So all of this will be linked to Rom Manager? Meaning, we get the ROM there as well as choose what will go on it and then flash? Or, do we grab the ROM from a link provided, and use Rom Manager to personalize it?
Also, is the kernel going to be a separate flash based on our needs or will you include one (or some choices) in the Rom?
Thanks for your work!

The Rom will be in Rom Manager as well, so you'll select the Rom option, and it will give you a bunch of different lists to choose one or more options from, such as:
Music - Stock or AOSP player
Browser - Stock or choice of market browsers
Launcher - Sense, LauncherPro, ADW, GoLauncher, etc.
Stock apps - Add back any removed apps you may want
Theme - Select from available themes (added with permission of creators)
Kernel - Pick the kernel you want with the Rom (added with permission)
Mods - choose which mods are preinstalled
(These are just examples and may not be available right away, or ever)
Blackhole aims to be an all in one experience.
I also try to make it easy to try different things and modify the Rom after it's installed. Every option that you can choose when you flash the Rom for the first time can be chosen later to change things up. These options even work on most other roms too.
Thank you for your question, I apologize if I've been a bit too long winded.
Nice. I already see you in rom manager. Looking forward to try it when rom manager access complete. Thanks.
loved blackhole on the fascinate.. can't wait
So just going through the motions in Rom Manager I can see that this thing has great potential. Was this made originally for Galaxy phones? Seems to be a lot of options for Touchwiz and de-binged apps? Is there or will there be options for sense items. I personally like using sense just all the verizon stuff de-bloated.. I know it is work in progress and looks great. This weekend when I have time I will give it all a go and see how it runs..
Can't wait to see how this grows. Will be a nice option for people that I know that are not really good at setting up custom looks on their phones. Reminds me of Adamz Smoked Glass on the D1 back in the day when he made setup files in recovery to choose what you wanted.. Again awesome work..

Can't wait to see how this grows. Will be a nice option for people that I know that are not really good at setting up custom looks on their phones. Reminds me of Adamz Smoked Glass on the D1 back in the day when he made setup files in recovery to choose what you wanted.. Again awesome work..

Yes the rom was made for the Verizon Samsung Fascinate first, and I'm using that manifest to work in the Thunderbolt options more easily.
I plan to have all of the Stock apps including sense, widgets, themes, wallpapers, etc. available eventually.
I actually took my inspiration for this rom from the Droidmod installer from my D1. When I upgraded I saw there was nothing like that for the fascinate and decided to make it myself. It just kinda caught on from there.
I loved your Blackhole rom on the Fascinate. Its great to see you put one together for the T-Bolt!
Sounds nice!

I can't wait to use your rom. It was all I ever used on my fascinate. I love your work. Thanks for doing it on the t-bolt. You rock.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Thanks a lot for all the kind words guys. Build your own version should be up in Rom Manager very soon, with constantly growing options.
When I wipe and install the phone just loops and never boots up. Stuck on Android

Are you able to get a logcat so I could see why? I never had it do that in all my testing.
Not sure what a log cat is. I tried it twice wiping both times and had no luck

Have you tried downloading it again? could have been corrupted or incomplete download. What's the file size for the one you flashed?

The size was 142MB
If anybody tried to download from rom manager, I had some issues with my manifest, it's fixed now, so if you get an error just exit Rom Manager and try again, It'll start from where you left off.

That's the right size, so it's not an incomplete download. Try flashing the Stock Dexodexed build and then install Blackhole from Rom Manager.
Cool! Really need the Corporate email option to be installed
And, is wifi working in 1.0?
Thanks!
