You can just ask this question in an existing thread, you don't need to start a whole new thread. Yes, it has a Verizon and Vodophone branded sim.

hi, I am planning to buy a htc droid which is currently in verizon network in ebay.. but I don't know weather it will work in europe, with gsm networks??
so, will it work or better not to buy that phone??
If its a droid its cdma only. The milestone is the gsm model.

Wait for the Droid2 World Edition, it will have a dual GSM/CDMA radio in it

won't hacking it (using custom rom) solve this problem??

No, the cellular radio is different for GSM phones, not to mention the lack of a SIM card slot. It's a physical difference which cannot be changed with software.
Like others have said, the Milestone is the exact same phone but with a GSM radio. Or wait for the Droid 2 WE.
How do I kno what have?

If XDA had a "like" button, I'd hit it for the clarity of this post.
Alternatively there is "thanks", unfortunately thanks are not in order.
Cheers!

I'm guessing you have a vergina but if you're asking if you have a droid 2 global or a regular droid 2, it'd be the sim card in the back that'd be the dead giveaway.
Can my Milestone 2 with CM10 be used in USA. CM10 is September 23 version. And see attached picture.
Thanks for advice.

Are you going to use CDMA?
If you are going to use CDMA, you need Droid 2 instead of Milestone 2
Although they looks very similar, but the internal hardware is different
Milestone 2 simply does not support CDMA
Works well with AT&T carrier (GSM). No problems with roaming, nor with native at&t SIM card.
No special need to change baseband in settings, at least Great Britain 2.2.1 works well.

Because I will fly to USA next month, so I want to be sure GSM works well.

Be sure to not get a T-Mobile SIM Card, because Milestone 2 doesn't support 3G data connection on that carrier...

No harm in trying.
I had hoped someone already has.

Anybody try yet? Specifically, I'd like to use a vzw note 3 simm in my maxx hd. I like switching back and forth without calling vzw every time.

Yep, you can just swap your Verizon sim card between phones.
If I remember correctly activation via calling Verizon isn't necessary.

I've heard that however when I called vzw about it the rep said you have to call. That said, ime the reps only know the scripts they're given so I trust people who have actually tried. I don't want to risk my unlimited data plan.

I also have unlimited data and when I switched sim cards my plan didn't change.
And yes, the reps are following a script. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be fine.
Also I ordered a special sim card from Verizon which allows me to make secure nfc payments and I was able to activate it via the phone just fine with no change to my data plan.
I got a rooted Razr M from Craigs List for my wife for Xmas. Her previous phone did not have a sim card (Droid Incredible) so I went to Vzw to get a new sim card and figured I'd just plug it in.
But no. And they couldn't activate it (and weren't happy about it being rooted - oops).
Anyone have any ideas before I nuke it back to basics?

Call customer service & they will hold your hand & walk you through it!
Select other options/ I want to cancel my service & they will be even nicer!
What's Verizon going to do tell you your warranty is void from a phone you bought off of craigslist?
Being sarcastic for those who read it differently
