I was looking for the official OTA update because i switched phones and this one does not currently have the update.
Thanks..
I extracted the OTA.zip from the cache folder before updating and posted a link to the file as did one other person. Unfortunately, nobody has been able to install/flash the OTA.zip directly. Don't get your hopes up but if you wanna mess around with it here goes nothing:

thanks i will try it out i am going to call my htc guy tomorrow to see if he can pass along the update to me..
Please post questions in Q&A section.

This thread might help you with the resource, links and few information about upgrading to Lollipop 5.1 when the official OTA arrives.
BEFORE WE BEING, LETS SUM UP WITH THE THINGS WE KNOW TILL NOW.
After agers, Motoroal dropped Lollipop for our Xs
First the LP 5.0.2 came out as soak test
Finally LP 5.1 OTA hit the brazillian markets a couple of days back
We can expect to hit all other markets in couple to weeks.
Now things we need to know for successfully installing the OTAs when it finally arrives in our regions
** I'm expecting all of you(reading this) are rooted with locked or unlocked bootloader **
*If you are not rooted, you are set, stop reading and count clocks before it hits your region*
Now whether you are have locked or unlocked bootloader, I'm guessing you have Custom Recovery installed (TWRP,CWM, etc).
and might or might not be running a Custom ROM.
For both the cases, you can never successfully install OTA when it arrives cause it has a pre validation check, which will fail if it recognizes anything other than stock is installed.
For more info :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59524348&postcount=324
AND NEVER TRY TO DOWNGRADE CAUSE IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE OR SET IT UP FOR BRICKING LATER (IF IT DOESN'T BRICK, WHEN TRY TO INSTALL OTA IT SURELY WILL)
More Info
So, it narrows down to a particular question " What should be done if we want to install the OTA when it arrives.? "
This is what you need to do :
Flash Stock ROM (if you are using Custom ROM) and Stock Recovery and then download the OTA and give it go....
** its good if you install both Stock ROM & Recovery, cause you might knowing or unknowingly tampered your system partition by installing/experimenting with several modules and framworks (xposed for eg) **
which by the way raises the following follow up question :
Q : Where to find Stock ROM ZIP file and how to install it.?
A : For this, first you need to know which Model of Moto X are you using and download the same and the flash it.
For getting to know and downloading the your region specific ROM zip file please vist ;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/info-tip-web-sites-official-leaked-roms-t2923347
and for the flashing guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
Please go through and read carefully to both the threads, and you will find yourself happy with LP 5.1 when it finally comes.
I have no hands in making the links mentioned, all this is done by spending hours of research time by these people.. *Say Thanks to Them*.. I just accumulated the data to provided a one thread solution.

I haven't posted this cause, its not the official OTA installation thing, its just restoring a TWRP backup. which in case has many bugs (eg speaker phone, Network selection etc.)
I also admit that there is no contribution from me, in creation of the links I've posted, I just accumulated the data for myself, in thought that, when the OTA hits my region, this would help me going back to stock.
I made this thread thinking that, if in some way I could also help others who are looking for a solution for this.
The tips posted in -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/faq-kit-kat-how-to-prepare-carriers-t2536735 still apply for Lollipop...
Some URLs have been captured, some have not. What you see is what we've got. If you do not see your region's URL here I don't have it, so please do not ask!!
Do not fill this thread with chat about the MM update. We have a thread for that already. This is only a repository for the URLs.
If you are in possession of an official URL link please post it here or PM it to me. That is the preferred method to share the OTA download. If that's not possible for one reason or another, any dropbox, google drive, mega, etc. link to the zip file will do just fine. Please do not rename, repack, or edit your OTA zip in any way. We don't want to break the signature...if you do stock recovery won't flash it.
Here is a guide to capture your URL should you get the notification. Please remember to start logcat BEFORE clicking download.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/guide-how-to-url-ota-update-t3230597
If you are unable to capture the URL you can find the update .zip file in the /cache directory of your device. You must be rooted to get it, and being rooted will not stop you from being able to download the update. You just can't flash it from a rooted device.

guys, take it to the discussion thread!!! this is ONLY a link repository!
what the hell???? I specifically asked everyone to NOT turn this into a completely worthless discussion.
I'm deleting this thread and it's not coming back until a mod can lock it!! You people are absolutely ridiculous...like vultures!! you see a link and just click it without reading anything at all!!
Thank you to those who did stay on topic. Sorry it has to be this way...I've never seen a forum with so many users who can't follow one simple rule!!
I don't know if I will EVER post another update thread here again....every one I've made turns into the same thing....50 people all asking the same question or posting the same damn comment....no **** the link isn't working...everyone spammed it and it got overloaded. I saw the first post. I didn't need to be told 3 times.
You guys really know how to ruin a good thing.
Thread closed - it has become a joke. A rather sad joke at that.
Every post deleted to preserve some Forum dignity.
Hi,
tl;dr: Is there a download link available for the WW_V21.40.1220.1698 official firmware?
Details:
I have a ZE600KL and this official page says Marshmallow is released for it.
I have unlocked bootloader and currently stock recovery and ROM, that I've flashed myself by downloading from the official support page (1.16.40.1523_20160426). I've been checking for updates from Settings>About>System Update for a while, to no success. I used to have a root but flashing the 1.16 seems to have removed it. And if I flash TWRP and reboot to recovery, it asks me whether it should leave the system partition untouched. So this makes me think I should be able to receive the OTA, normally. And yet, as I said, no such luck.
I've seen some ROMs that mention they require MM firmware for ZE600KL, such as this one. Again, this makes me thing some people out there must have received the 21.40 update (or any Marshmallow update) for their ZE600KL. I've been searching the internet but I didn't find this firmware anywhere. If somebody knows a link or if by some enormous kindness somebody uploads this, I'd be really grateful.
Thank you in advance to anyone who replies
Edit: I came across this link but I haven't yet been able to verify if it works, will update after I try:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE600KL/UL-Z00L-WW-21.40.1220.1698-user.zip
Second Edit: The zip in the link flashes and boots. I'm sorry to have created a thread and then manage to solve it on my own later, but hopefully this might be helpful to other ZE600KL owners in the future.

Unfortunately, absynte's guide is unlikely to work.
Have a look at your own past thread from October last year about the same query, which was answered & seemed to have been solved?
How to update to 6.0?
If not, follow erayrafet's advice there. Let us know if you need help to follow it.
Please don't keep opening a fresh thread for the same query - post in one thread from now on: either that one or this one (not both). Thanks.

Unfortunately, FlashFire doesn't work well with Huawei phones. After posting this exact same suggestion in that previous thread, I tried it on my P6 despite the prior warning (see below), & true enough it didn't work. Thankfully, I easily managed to fix the resulting 'soft' brick by restoring a nandroid backup.
"- Added warning for Huawei users about brickability" (from the main FlashFire thread Changelogs post)
--------------------------------------
So zuperpailon, whatever you do or try, please make sure to create a prior nandroid backup with TWRP & transfer a copy of the backup to a computer or similar for safekeeping.
