How does one add the ESN to the metro servers?

I do this professionally, and you must pay to have the esn added, I can do the flash remotely text me via 727 237 5609!
I'll talk you through it.

Time to get this phone on Cricket.

It's time to Mighty Rom the Incredible, to the Cricket or Boost networks! On a fixxed income I can't afford Verizon or Att, even Sprint would put me into a jam.
Thanks JD
Edit: I'm dumb

amen to that waiting for metro
With ##pst# can't u write info there I did on the touch when it came out and use qpst to input the prl

Root has nothing to do with flash to cricket use ##778 MSL code is 000000 next step is to have a cricket prl on your sd card then follow the xv6800 route to flashing pretty much the same easy as that. now for custom roms ull have to wait for root.
Mine is on Cricket
I got mine flashed for Cricket, however; only the web browser seems to be able to use the Cricket 3G network. All of the other Android apps give a network error. Of course, everything works over WiFi just fine. If anyone has any advice on how to fix this, it would be much appreciated.
Look into your manual apn settings?
doesn't cricket use a proxy? We had this problem getting cricket to work on the vogue running android...
You need to set the proxy on the network layer, on boot, and for that you need to be rooted
2nd that gotta wait on the root
HOWEVER
"Exciting things are happening in HTC Droid Incredible world...starting from order anticipation to the root and custom ROMs... Yes, you heard it right!!! Paul O'Brien at MoDaCo said..."
What you just posted was about the desire...Pauls method doesn't work nor is he helping root..
flash
Can someone please put up a step by step how to flash to cricket?
There is a cricket rom in development. Have you looked through that yet?
Just curious because I don't use Cricket, but why would you need to flash? If MSL is 000000, can't you just set up CDMA/NAM parameters as necessary for Cricket or is there more to it than that?
There is a cricket dev going on, but there hasn't been an update in forever.

No, you will have to load the proper PRL file into the phone which allows the handset to communicate with Cricket towers and not Verizon.

I didnt know when it was posted. Though why does every1 say you have to root phones to flash to carriers when you can get everything working on stock rom. what 3 years ago they didnt know the command ##prl# or was that in updated stock rom? or ##778# or ##program# these phones dont need qpst dfs or cdma workshop to flsh to cricket page plus only carriers that need nv files.

HTC Evo as HTC Droid Incredible

I apologize if there is a previous post regarding this question, I have search all over for an answer with no avail...
I was wondering if there is a way to trick the App Market into thinking that the Evo is the Incredible in order to download Verizon apps, such as Skype and the Inception: Mind Crime game?
I was also curious, if this is not possible, does anyone know where I might find the .apk files for those two apps?
Feel free to PM me with any information. Thanks all.
Cheers,
Terry

apps like skype will only work on verizon network
There is a skype lite version apk floating around that you can install on your phone that will work on Sprint.

The guy implied that if you are not on Verizon. The app will not work. So no, the app will not work
Re Skype
If Skype is your main concern, I found this story at Engaget:
http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/28/skype-mobile-with-video-support-coming-to-android-market-later-t/
Seems Skype intends to bring a "direct to consumer app to the Android marketplace later this year. This application will be available for all consumers globally to download regardless of carriers. (i.e. similar to how we offer the iPhone app today)"
The current Skype app does not work for the Evo. I have the Verizon Skype app, and after you install it, it will tell you that it can't run because you don't have a Verizon phone.
Just wait for the new version to come out for everyone, or get Fring and SIPdroid or something. There are many ways to make it work, but nothing as simple as straight Skype.
has anyone who tried this hack.
http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696073
try to dl skype for verizon? this hack is to use verizon towers and one of the effects is that when u dial *2 it goes to verizon customer service.
just wondering with this will it make skype work on the evo?

If you download the Android app - My Market - this app is like Market but lets you select your country / provider. Select US Verizon and you can download and install the Skype App, but you can't get it to launch. Choose US T Mobile for other apps.

How Do I Get Evo 4G on Boost Mobile?

i would like to get the HTC EVO 4G on Boost mobile. how can i do this?
It can be done, but through illegal means. You have to take the esn from a donor boost phone and clone it onto the evo. Like I said, illegal but do-able.

You seem like the person to ask with as much knowledge as you know about phones and all the work you've created; good grief. I am stuck with Sprint and cant leave until next year without paying ETF; long story short; get terrible service and have airave (only works half the time and have 3 replacements-sprint does not want to address to issue; and me being on a SERO account probably doesn't help either) but someone in a different thread mentioned about a sprint diagnostic tool that you can use to force your phone to Roam verizon towers and get the boot rather quickly from sprint; unfortunately he said it was only for samsung devices; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1774503

Sprint will boot you and terminate the contract with no etf if you do it enough. Not that I would condone such a thing.
I didn't know if there was such a tool that could work for the evo shift that you knew of since you work with other devs and know A LOT about A LOT of stuff. I searched google a bit then headed over here of the forums, but couldnt find much in regards to it for my phone. thanks in advance
EDIT
I came across this for the HTC EVO, not shift; but maaaybe http://themikmik.com/showthread.php?16026-On-The-Fly-PRL-Change-PRL-Changes-With-and-Without-a-PC
Why don't you just put your phone into roam only mode. Eventually Sprint won't want you any more...

I thought the PRL would need to be changed to something different; I will give Roam Control a go and keep in Roaming...thanks
No you don't need to change your prl. Also, Several Shift ROMs like newSENSE Supreme Sense and StockMod have roam only as an option built in so you don't have to buy roam control if you don't want too.

Is there a way to use this HTC Evo Shift in my country.

Hi all, I have this device given to by my sister-in-law from US., but I leave here in Philippines, is there a way to may this device be used here in my country? Thank you very much in advance.
Im not sure, but the same way that people flash to carriers like Boost, I guess you could do the same with one of your local carriers. But you would have to do some research to get all the necessary pieces like a donor phone, mms gateway URL and all that, I wouldn't know how to obtain that info unless you have an inside person but thats just my 2 cents
The first thing is to find out if a cdma network is available where you are. The Shift uses cdma but the majority of the world uses gsm...

That's what I was about to say lol, yeah it is doubtful because almost everybody uses GSM. And there was never an international Shift made as far as I know.

Thank you all for such replies and info's. I guest it can't be use here as a regular phone since there is no available CDMA service here. Well, i'll just use this as an experimental phone as I learn Android. Once again thank you folks.

Here is a cool app that will let you use your shift to make calls via wifi. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snrblabs.grooveip I hope this helps.
I've noticed in some of the ROMs I've installed that there are settings making it LOOK like you can change between CDMA and GSM. I never believed it was actually possible, but interesting that there are settings like that included sometimes.
Yeah, thats because CM uses the same base for all their roms, then makes it specific for each device
If you try to switch, it doesnt actually work though, like you said

Those ROMs are cross platform, such as cm7.. they were released on multiple devices on multiple carriers so adding that option makes it easier for use with different carriers. The only way you can get both is with an international cdma device (there aren't many)
