Hello All
I am new to the forum and modifing a cell phone and I have a question.
My phone is a T-Mobile HTC Dash G3 unlocked that my girlfriend gave me when she bought a new phone. My carrier is ATT I inserted my SIM card and the phone works incomming and outgoing calls and voicemail. My question is most other settings refer to T-Mobile is there software I can load to change this to ATT? I am really new to moding a cell phone. Any help would be appreicated.
Thanks in advance

I will be buying an XDA 2 of my friend 2moro and
I would like to know if I can use an O2 Pay as you
go genie sim (genie is the sim where you get free txt msgs etc)
Can i just pop the sim straight in and use it or will I have to unlock it??
Hi advent
I'm sure you can...
As long as the SIM is GSM and the phone is unlocked you can use any GSM SIM Card...
In this case, since it's going to be from O2 there would be no problem.
Hi All,
A little while ago on my Nike (Orange UK) my phone stopped working - can't call out or recieve calls I just get a text message telling me I have a missed call. My callers report going directly to voicemail.
I can still get data (internet and email) and sms and I still get a 3G logo with full strength at the top.
If I switch to explicitly GSM band (as opposed to Auto or UMTS(WCDMA)) through the phone options, everything works as normal again.
I wonder if this is due to putting my 3G sim in my old M600 for a while and an Orange operative sent me some sim updates to allow the 3G sim to work in my old phone. Perhaps this somehow disabled 3G callin/callout support when I went back to my Nike?
When I put this to Orange they don't have a clue what the hell I'm talking about and just suggest a handset replacement which I am less than keen to do.
What is the tecnical name for the "sim update" process called? Does anyone know spacificly what command Orange might have sent to my sim? Perhaps if I can talk to them in their own language they'll be able to help me further.
Thanks peeps!
recently i've bought a milestone 2 and i wanted to see if my AT&T Gophone SIM card would work on it, turns out it doesn't no service, network, or phone number in the status menu
is there anyway to fix this or is my device just incompatible? i'd greatly appreciate any help on the subject manner
Having a problem with a Telstra HD2 model.
With a Telstra SIM in the phone, I can make and receive calls. When I insert a Vodafone SIM into it, I cannot make or receive calls. Call hangs up straight away.
Device is not network locked as HTC phones are not locked with Telstra. Bars display in task bar.
Tried it with Windows 6.5 (factory default) and Android custom ROM. Currently on custom ROM.
Any thoughts?
I had a similiar problem a few years ago and all i had to do was get a new sim card. I was told i had damaged my sim card some how but i was able to save the contacts, transfer them over to the new sim T-mobile gave me and I have not had another problem since.
If you have access to another phone try and insert both sim cards you have in the other phone. If you have problems in the other phone with the sim card thats not working you can safely say its the sim card thats not working correctly and not a phone issue.
Thanks for the reply Craze.
My SIM's do work as I use my Telstra SIM (that works in the HD2) in my old Nokia and my Vodafone on my Galaxy Nexus Prime.
So on the HD2, my Telstra SIM works where I'm able to receive and make calls and my Vodafone is the opposite.
Could it be the phone? I'm hoping that it is so that I can fix it.
Could it be the network providers? If so, then I'll call them which I've already done but they couldn't give me an answer as to why my Voda SIM does that in the HD2.
Hello! I've read a lot of posts but I'm unsure about how to do this...I apologize if I've missed something, but I'm asking for some help. I have a sprint note8 that's been sim unlocked from sprint and now has service with TMobile. Most services work with the exception of mms while connected to wifi. I've done all the apn stuff and the only thing that will allow mms is to get off wifi. This appears to be a common issue with T-Mobile port ins. I would like to flip this from sprint based to T-Mobile based to unlock all the features of the phone. I've read that there's a carrier switch and/or a carrier firmware. I don't know which one I need to do since the phone is sim unlocked. Can I get by with doing the carrier firmware only? Do I need to do both? Will my wife kill me if I lose all her stuff, yes. Thanks for any guidance you can provide!
