Help Please, Im begging!!!!! - Droid X General

Here is my issue. I was stuck in a boot loop thanks to bootstrap, I tried reseting factory defaults and everything. Nothing worked. Well I ended up do the RSDlite and SBF. Well I got it flashed now when I try to activate it, it connects with US Cellular and fails. I tried the *22807 and it instantly say programming unsuccessful. I even tried to do it myself with the ##7762726 trick. I cant make any calls or do anything. Oh and I now have a blue triangle in my notification bar.....

In the phone information area, does your meid match what is on your phone, under the battery?

you usually have to re-activate when you SBF, for Verizon *228, then hit 2 to program (i believe)... i've never used *22807 before. otherwise bring it to verizon and tell them to activate it.

Ok my MEID isnt the same. And I have tried to activate it through the *22807 and it pops up and says programming unsuccessful.=( what should I do next, is there a way to change this info? Im going to the verizion store in a bit, my friend works there and she said she could fix it. But if you all have any suggestions real fast Im willing to try

Since the meid's don't match, your going to have to take it to Verizon, or have someone repair the meid for you. Programming will continue to be unsuccessful until it matches whatever is on record for the carrier.

i need help breaking my phone... :S

hey i have an htc touch vogue. and i need to get it replaced. so in order for me to get it replaced i need to have it stop working. this damage cannot be physical so however funny it may be to tell me to toss it from a building plz be serious. if you guys know of any software that i can put on my phone that will either completely screw up my entire phone, or just cause a small problem that can easily be fixed by clearing the storage but can still be a continuous problem. if you have any suggestions please reply to this thread, or private message me. that you.... have fun with this one, im seriously looking for any program that you have ever put on your phones and had caused problems for you and for you to send them my way.. thanks
I've had issues and gotten like 7 replacements. Just got a sprint refurb and it's already freezing up on me and all I installed is pcm keyboard and opened up opera that is installed with sprints customizations. The phone got all screwed up.
try to write a virus for it.. or try to corrupt system files by deleting the ones that are needed.
I got my replacement phone, It's already having issues of the hardware buttons not responding. A virus would have to destroy the rom. Deleting critical files other wise they'll just tell you to do a restore.
i got one and it has still stumped verizon , only if you really want to **** your phone up dont come crying to me if you end up regreting it, cause i will just laugh at you!!!
dial ##778# maybe ##786#
if you are using nfsfan's roms make sure you have a cdma dialer to do the ## codes in win mo. it should bring up EPST hit edit, the unlock code or whatever is 000000. then you can **** up all the **** you want lol(it is your vital connection settings to your carrier(i did accedentally)) i hit menu and reset, it does a hard reset and all the settings are now 00000000005406 and my phone is screwed for now, vzw mentioned getting me a replacement maybe, i really dont care i just want my data to work!
i was originally trying to fix what hero-sprint had screwed up...
hard reset wont fix this it will mess up your data and well for me my sms too but i still get calls
They can't just give you the correct number to put in to reactivate it? sounds like how you program the sprint phones
The easiest way would be to interupt the ROM update process. Use an official ROM update, & when the flashing progress reaches 2% disconnect the USB cable. The device will no longer boot. You then call Sprint & act stupid about what is wrong with it. "I don't know what's wrong, it just won't power up anymore."

[Q] Need some help with my vogue

ok guys i bought a sprint touch (vogue) phone about a 3 months ago when i started having problems with my older phone. well i finally decided to activate this new vogue phone and i cannot get good reception. Now compared to my old sonyo this phone stays searching for service almost all day. While the old sonyo would have three bars of signal. i started doing some searching online and found out that these phones were bad for signal reception. After all that searching i want to unlock my phone and install the newest rom, radio rom, and see if it will help my phone. i tried to return to the store but they will only give me 25 dollars for the phone and that made me very mad. At the moment it does not work and i have really nothing to loose if the phone becomes a brick.
i have downloaded the NuVogue and NSFan roms plus a lot of cabs. What i do understand completely is do i need to install a radio rom or is there one already in the Roms. if there is no radio rom in these roms then which one is recommended?
thanks
If you bought a sprint phone then it probably has a sprint stock radio. Does it show the sprint logo at boot?

yes it does have sprint logo at start.

You can try reflashing a radio or rom with a radio, but I doubt it will help much... have you EVER been able to call with that phone? How did you provision it? If it's a new vogue from sprint(?) why won't they give you a full refund or a warranty replacement?
i cannot return it because i did not buy it from sprint store. i bought it from my friend but he did not tell me he was having problems with the phone. what should i do.
i do not know what else to do?
i really like the phone but i cannot get any reception, that is my problem. i do not use it for text, music, or online. i just need it for business.
any suggestions would be great.
thanks
Have you tried *228?(or whatever the Sprint equivalent is)

So, the device stays looking for signal? Does it ever get at least 1 bar of signal? I have an idea, which may sound a bit far fetched, but it may be the case. At one point in time, I remember trying to replace the E$N of my device with an MEID (turned into pseudo E$N). Needless to say, this cannot be done, and my device stayed looking for service forever. I have a feeling that maybe the E$N was changed and it was either input wrong, or simply someone tried to play stupid and replaced it with a pE$N.
Check for the E$N behind the battery and compare it to the one in the system (you can check this by going into PST, you don't even need the MSL as you are not editing the programing parameters of the device).
ok i took a look at the ESN numbers in back of the phone and i got this:
************
then i went to settings and looked in device information i get this:
*************
Does this mean anything?

Unless you mistyped the 36A152D number, it looks like it is not complete.
Decimal conversion from the one you gave me (without the dash, of course) should give you a Hex number that is totally different.
My guess is that your friend tried to change the E$N of the device and did it wrong/used an invalid serial. If you put an invalid E$N, the phone will stay searching for networks forever, which is what is happening with your device. You have to change the ESN back to the original (the one behind the battery), but if it was changed, I have a feeling it is probably black-listed by Sprint. I would call Sprint and ask if the device with the number you gave me can be activated on their network.
BTW, I edited the numbers you gave me to protect your device's serial.
ok i took a look again at the numbers and i did miss type. there is suppose to be an 8 between the 5 and 2.
ok so then i need to go back to sprint? What should i tell them? Do i tell them to put me back to the other EsN like the one on my phone?

Don't even talk to them about changing ESN. Remember that this is an illegal practice in most countries around the world (IMEI, MEID, and ESN for those who use other serial numbers). I have a feeling that you are better off trying to reactivate your older phone and try to get the guy who sold it to give you your money back.
i think you are right.
i will do that first.
thanks guys.

[Q] G1 Test unit

Brief history. My wife has a G1 and apparently she has not been able to download apps for sometime now. When she took it to Tmobile for them to check out, they said,"you must have downloaded a corrupt app from the market, we're sorry, but we can't fix it. Meanwhile, she was not allowing me to root it, and possibly finding a solution. So now, we got her an HTC sensation, so I can have her phone to play with. My quest is to fix the phone to prove to my wife that I know more than your local Tmobile rep. With that being said,"What do I do?" JK I know where to start, I just wanted to know if there is any relationship between the G1 and this corrupt market issues as I spent most of my time in the Thunderbolt forum. Thanks in advance.
do you want to root it? or just wipe it out? you can do many different things.. not sure what the relation is with your market not working

Root and wipe, basically just make it right again and to show my wife the benefits of rooting. Before a complete wipe though, I would like to see if there is any validity to this "corrupt app" and "not fixable" statements made by Tmobile reps. My first roadblock seems to be the sim card, I don't have one, and can't find a way to root w/o it yet.
Options-
-Use my wife's current sim card (its a 4G sim now for her sensation, will it still work), but she would probably have a hissy and not let me use it
-Use my sim card from my Tbolt (which requires an unlock code)
-Find a way to root w/o a sim all-together
I am sure with a little more investigating, I'll find a way to make it work.
Why not just boot to recover and wipe?
Turn phone off.
Press and hold "HOME" button, press power button, keep holding home.
When it gets to the "!" screen, open keyboard, press ALT-L.
Then press ALT-W (W is for Wipe).
When finished, reboot.

yes try that first!! see if you can get it to work... you will need her sim just for a second so you can get by the google sign in... than if you connect to wifi you can remove the sim, ad if you still want to root the device follow this guide here...
[Guide] (8-18-11) G1 How-to: Root, Un-Root & Everything in-between
you can do this whole guide pretty quick, and you only need to use your wife's sim card for 1 second... just to sign into google once you get to 1.5.. than you can give it back to her and do everything via wifi, let me know if you need some more help..
Done, finally! This might have been super simple for any of you to do, it took me a total of about 8 hrs to get where I am, which is successfully running cm5.0.8.
This process was made more difficult by not having an activated sim card, and not being connected to wi-fi to even set up google.
Using adb I found a way to bypass the google setup when you have an "expired" Tmobile sim card inserted, but to use adb I needed usb debugging enabled, and I finally figured that out.
Now to hopefully make this long story shorter, I am now flashing whatever rom I wish to run on a phone in which Tmobile said was not fixable.
The phone is, in fact, way better than any stock g1 could be.
The current rom runs great on it, (I aslo run cm7 on my Tbolt), and all market apps download and run correctly, to the contrary of what the Tmobile reps said.
Well, I guess I'm done. If nothing else, I said I could do it, and I did it.
Now maybe a little respect from my wife.
Well, the TMobile rep succeeded where it matters to their manager, they sold your wife a new phone!

Questions on rooting and SIM unlocking (S4 eumk2 4.3)

Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum. A while back I found a phone in the gas station bathroom that I was working at. I kept it under the desk with a note and of course the camera watching it in case it disappeared without a customer picking it up. No one ever came for it and after 2 weeks (company policy) I took it home with me. Anyway, I've just been using it on my wireless internet and playing games, however my phone contract just ran out on my crappy verizon old flip phone and I want to go to straight talk and use this one.
So, I bought the Straight talk byop kit which includes a sim card for the phone, however, the SIM card that's meant for AT&T phones is too small for this one for some reason, however the TMobile one fits in it perfectly fine. The problem is that it's a tmobile sim card and I'm sure you all know that I need to unlock the phone to get it. So, last night I spent about 4 hours searching for ways to unlock it. I see it's possible to do it for free using the system settings phone codes, but the code combinations don't seem to work for me.
*#0011# - When i key enter 1 it doesn't do what the video I was watching says it's supposed to do.
*#9090# - Restarts my phone after I hit the what I'm told to.
There's another I tried however, I can't remember the code, it takes me to the debug menu, however option 6 isn't there to give me access to phone options or whatever.
So, I gave up as my laptop battery started to waiver around 10% and went to sleep.
Now, today, I hopped on and attempted to figure it out again, but got bored really quick, stumbling accross the same stuff I tried last night, so I tried rooting it thinking that getting admin access to my phone would make option 6 appear when I entered that number. I was wrong, but hey, I successfully rooted my phone so it's cool.
Anyway, I just want the SIM card to work. I really don't care if I have to unlock my phone or whatever, I just want my phone to be able to make calls. So if unlocking my phone works, please help me, if there's a way to get the super small AT&T SIM card to work, then that's be great.
I'm sure you need some of my phone info to help me out so here we go.
It's a Samsung S4 on 4.3 firmware, rooted. It's an I337 and the baseband version says I337UCUEMK2.
If you need any other information to help me out, please feel free to ask. I tried calling AT&T already btw, they said without a phone number they won't provide me with an unlock code.

I honestly don't understand 90% of the words in that post... Is there a post or article that'll teach me the basics to rooting and unlocking? I'd really love to do custom roms and everything. I honestly thought when I rooted my phone it'd give me admin access and the hidden system management options would become open to me.
Anyway, hope you can help, my wife is getting on my case about getting it unlocked. If I don't have it done tonight, she's going to make me add the straight talk to a different phone instead of this one and I really don't want to use a cheap piece of junk straight talk phone.

I'm doing research on getting a custom rom installed right now, I'm looking at Carbon ROM. I guess I have another question, is there any roms that give me full access to system manager or whatever it's called when you enter those numbers?
Okay, I made an attempt to use your walkthrough, method 2. I went and downloaded odin, and tried to flash the mdl modem however they don't exactly explain in the walkthrough how to do that, I figured I'd take a hit at it and went to do it and odin says it failed.
Is there a walk through I can read through to find how to flash?
I'm not sure what safestrap is, I can't find it on my phone and google only brings up droid ones for me as far as I've seen. It sounds like if I get the mdl modem on my phone that because it unlocks the hidden options in system manager I just have to do that and use the system manager walkthroughs I've seen to go ahead and unlock it.
EDIT: Okay, I got safestrap installed, now I'm just trying to figure out how to get a different modem installed, any help there? I'm looking and asking around but I'm not seeing anything.

Help/advice with Unlocked Sprint LG LS997 V20

I recently switched carriers to Tmobile and couldn't be happier, they also paid the remaining balance on both my v20's
I requested for the phones to be unlocked which they did.
it of course isn't a phone I want to use as my Daily since I got the V30+ but just for the hell of having a backup
I tried my tmo sim card and it worked I just had to set apns.
Last night I decided to reset the phone cause I hate that sprint bootscreen and also wanted it to be fresh.
I tried putting the Tmo sim card again and now it won't even recognize the sim is in..
So anyone with more experience would or could point me to make it work again ??
I would really appreciate any feedback
thanks!!
No one??
Did you just do a standard factory reset?

Yes!
Settings/backupand restore/factory reset..
And I also cleared the attached Data profile from Sprint with a ##code
Does the t mobile SIM card you're trying to use work in any other device? Ensure that SIM isn't just worn out from you taking it out and inserting it into phones by trying it in another phone. Also confirm the phone sees the Sprint SIM when that one is in. Pay attention to how both SIMs sit in the phone to see if you can see one of them sitting slightly further into the phone or something like that. I'm not sure how you expected your boot to not have a Sprint logo on startup if you did a factory reset though because as far as I know that's just part of the stock OS bootup, even if the phone is running a different carrier.

THIS is the stupid world of Sprint. This is what exactly happened to two LG XPowers I had with Sprint. My GSM SIMs worked great with the XPowers until I reset the device to factory settings or that the device went through a security update. You unfortunately have to get Sprint involved with the unlocking process from their end. And getting Sprint to do something? Good luck with that.
Had I not been getting unlimited free service from Sprint I would have left it some time ago and it's not for their phone or data service, but unlocking devices that is a pain in the ass!

Yes The boot logo goes away when you reset the phone..
When it activates then u get the sprint logo.
The sim card I used work just fine on another phone, I actually thought the same thing you mentioned but nothing.
And yes indeed the sprint sim card reads just fine just no service.
Thanks for your willingness and suggestions though
