I mean I use the latest official rom which comes with old version of Opera Mobile. But then I install the new Opera Mobile 10, the old Opera which came with the rom is still there.
Is it impossible to overwrite the old version Opera?
the stock opera is part of the rom and therefor located in \windows\ afaik. if you install opera 10 it installs to \program files\ (i guess) and nothing is overwritten, so the 9.7 is still there.
yes, and you can use both of them. install opera 10 on sd card to save memory (cache takes up memory)...after installing new version, transfer the opera folder in device memory to sd card

Thinking of installing Opera 8.6 browser onto my Tytyn question is do I have to install in device memory so that it works properly or can I install into the sd card.
Also can I direct the temporary internet files onto external memory as can be done with a reg tweak in PIE. Thanks
Yes to both if I recall. I had the trial on my wizard, I don't want to pay for it because truth be told it is not worth the money. I know I had it installed on the sd card. I also remember there being a setting in opera I think to move the temp files. If not then search the forums and I am sure someone had posted the registry settings that needed to be changed.

yes, definitely works on my xda trion via device or sd card install......i have tweaks2k2 also to put the temp internet files, history and cookies on sd card, but im pretty sure there is a registry hack in the wiki to put these folders on the sd card.
I've installed Indra's WM6.0 ROM and everything looks promising.
I used to use the EXT ROM to install programs rather than installing them on storage card as I use different memory cards. But now with the new 6.0 ROMs, it won't allow me to install any programs or save any files.
I tried to search for it but couldn't find any info. If anyone can enlighten me on how to save or install programs on EXT ROM as a regular memory card, I would be grateful.
i just used the extrom unlocker as usual and it presents me with the option during setups that support installing not on internal storage (midget's wm6 rom)

For my experience: you can up another old ROM, use ExtROM unlock then up again with WM06, it will be use Extended Rom.
extrom is unlocked by default in the current 3 crossbow releases

I know that it's been unlocked but it seems like we cannot save files or programs into it.
Can anyone confirm that if I load an older ROM and install a new one, I'll be able to save files in it.

I'm using Midget_1990 and installed a lot of programs in the storage (Ext Rom) with no probs
I have opera on my wing but forgot how move the cache to my microsd card... does anyone have the steps or an .ini file that I can use.... Opera 8.65 is way better than PIE but I keep running out of storage space...

Do you have opera installed on your SD card or on the device?

The new 8.65 version - not the beta will by default place the cache file on the mem card.

I think I have the full version.. I got it from an undisclosed source... but I installed It on my sdcard....
just did a hard reset so I can free up some space, and reinstalling what I find useful... im gonna give opera another run and see what happens
i have the sprint stock diamond and i actually like the stock sprint rom except for it was lacking in memory but i was browsing through windows and there are a few cab files that put together take up about 12mb of memory and way to delete them tried with total commander and cannot delete them

i think you can´t delete this file with any fileexplorer, because this cab files are in the ROM (ReadOnlyMemory).
If you want to get rid of them, you have to flash another cooked rom.
Hello, i've some problems with my new Topaz
The original ROM i had was under WM6.1 with Manila 2.0
I've tested somes cookeds ROM under WM6.1 and Manila 2.1, and all works fine, i'm actually under the Topaz ESSentiaL 2.F since 2 weeks, and have no problems.
But each time i test news ROM under WM6.5 as Dust ROM or EnergyROM, i've many problems with my microSD card
Under Activesync, the data transfert is really slow, +- 2 mins for a 2Mo JPG
When i switch to USB mode, the transfert is also really slow, and often the transfert fail and i see all my files corrupted, and my microSD card become unusable. I my under Windows Mobile, delete all files on my microSD card and after i must force format under Windows.....
theses bugs are each time when i use ROM under Windows Mobile 6.5
Do you know what is wrong ?....
I use Activesync 4.5 under Windows Server 2003.
All theses bugs are not presents under Windows mobile 6.1 ROM.
