Has anyone experienced the problem of a over reactive touch screen?
Lately if I try to scroll down a page, the touch screen jumps about wildly
Is there anything that a can do to fix this?
Reboot holding power +up/down volume then select the screen calibration option. Mine did this a while back. Made using swype impossible and scrolling jump all over the place. I did have to do it several times to get it back to normal. So if it doesn't fix it the first time, give it another shot. These exact instructions are on dells site, so it's safe to do

I actually signed up for the official beta before I even had my streak
But do a little search in this forum and modaco.com forums, I think there's a beta .apk floating around

I'm thinking it should be built into a rom, but don't know if i should post it for copyright reasons.

WOW!! This looks amazing. Looking through their site, it doesn't look as though they would mind, as they are trying to have it distributed as OEM and have a beta group in progress at the moment.
i also tried swype. but its no option for me. you need many practice i think.
the resisitve screen from tg01 is not so good for this prog. the screen faster gets dirty and will be scratched, if you use this for long time i think.
on other screens like the hd2 it would work better.
Ive been using this keyboard for a few months now and it works 100% perfectly on my TG01.
If you dont want your screen scratched you can either:
1) Buy a screen protector
2) Not use your phone at all
Im using a martin fields overlay plus screen protector, and any slight scratches that may have appeared are gone within 2 days. Those scratches arent from using swype though
I've had no problems with scratches either.. just don't wrap your fingers in sand paper and you should be fine
SlideIT
I personally use SlideIT as an alternative to Swipe, same functionality but a less cluttered keyboard. Would highly recommend.
Cheers,
is very good but it don't had romanian language
swype is my fav keyboard i've ever used, i really would check with the rights holder before ditributing it in a rom though...
I use it for about 1 month and meanwhile it's my favorite keyboard ever..
Accuracy is amazing and it looks so cool. Couldn't get enough of it.

Do some research. It took me about half an hour of googling to find the swype cab for free.
Try ShapeWriter. Same thing and its free in the market. Takes a little getting used to, but you can really fly with this thing

After doing a complete wipe and installing cm7 rc1 and google apps after the phone boots I cannot get past the initial screen where you touch the android to begin setup? Any ideas? I have tried re-downloading and re-instaliling about 3 times now with no luck.

Well, at least I am not the only one I guess...
For some reason you have to flash RC1 over the top of a previous nightly build for it to work. To be honest, right now, you're better just sticking with nightly #38 or wait for #39 to come out tonight as it is supposed to have a fix for the new lock screens.

If you use any of the new lock screens, it screws up the in call screen by having two different controls over the top of each other.
Meh...
...only issue I care about is the one that never will get fixed... TV OUT!!!!
MMS doesn't work. I get force closures on apps all the time, and have to reinstall them... then it happens again. Battery life seems amazing however!

Uh... no you don't. I flashed RC1 as my 1st AOSP ROM I ever tried out, wiping before install, and it worked just great. It was in CWM 2.5.1.2 if it makes a difference
I managed to get CM7 on my phone without a problem. Right after I rooted using Unrevoked, i used ROM manager to download and install CM7 and it all went rather painlessly.
The lock screen thing is a little annoying, though. I wanted to use the lockscreen gestures that CM lets you do, but it layered under the lock pattern... all in all i find it pretty stable.
I saw a lot of complaints, so thought that there should be a feedback thread, for the time being for members of Incredible boards to use this.
Here, if you can, state what alpha version you are running, if not the latest, with your concerns, joy, etc.
And the Developers of ICS can see this and make improvements on what needs to be worked on and what is working perfectly...varying from one user's phone to another.
**If mods feel that this is not needed or a complete utter waste, then you may delete it. Thought I'd help the people out by posting this for people trying out the ICS for the Incredible
^^
I think this is a good idea. However, I would remove the link to the dev thread in the OP. I think many "unknowledgable" users will simply click on that link and we may be right back where we started.
Just my 2 cents worth . . .
I agree with taking the link off of the page to lessen confusion. That said it was awesome to see ICS boot up and whatnot on my INC!!
Removed.
Also, people can post alpha version links here so people arent asking for it there.
Alpha 3 ran pretty good, less lag, imo.
I really want to see the camera functional on it, but that may take time....?
This would probably be better suited for the general discussion forum because you are looking for feedback on the development and not actually providing any development in this thread.

Valid point, sir. Ill leave it for mods, devs, and others to decide.

What gapps do you have loaded? Most likely the ones you have are not build for Android 4.0 so they won't work.

Please use this GAPPS...this was posted by "tiny" himself.
http://db.tt/OJKTipDb
I used this same one.
One thing i forgot to mention....you may get a random restart using Alpah3 w/ the GAPPS flashed...but it should be stable after that.
Alpha 3 works quite well for me for it being such an early build. It is slow, but using ADW and turning off all animations helps a lot. Google apps seem to run the slowest. XDA, Words With Friends, Facebook, and Twitter run as smooth as usual. Another little trick I've just discovered is to use a different keyboard. In some apps, it's more responsive than the stock keyboard. I hated the red lines under each word when using the android keyboard (can be disabled by turningg off corrections/suggestions), and sometimes it just could not keep up. Thumb Keyboard 4 works great though.
I have seen a few random reboots, but have noticed they only happen when I search for something within an app. If i search for someone in twitter or an app in the market, it sometimes reboots. Not always though.
So far so good. Ive been using it for 48 hours now and am loving it. I can't wait to see what it can do with everyhing functioning properly with hardware acceleration.
One request: is there a way to get the on screen back/home/running apps buttons to work so we can see what its like? That would be pretty cool to try out

Yes you can get the onscreen nav. buttons to work but you would have to re-calibrate the touchscreen drivers...we barely just fixed those lol

I'm not that eager to get them. I'm perfectly happy with whatever I'm given. I'm just happy to be able to use it at all.
Good things come to those who wait.
Edit- I don't know if that thing about ROMs needing time to "settle" is true or not, but it seems like this one has finally settled. I haven't had a reboot in hours, and though it's obvious there is no acceleration, everything seems to be runningg very smoothly. Its not fast, but it's not unusable.
This work has really come a long way in such a short time. I'm enjoying it very much.

How can I get Swype to work on CM9? It says I have an unsupported screen size when I download the beta. Any way around this?
I have the same problem too. It said to go on their website and get the right one but I'm not sure that'll work either. I'm guessing that's just another (sort of) bug we'll have to deal with until a final release of the ROM comes around.

Someone found a way to get swype working on CM9. Here is the link to the thread: h_t_t_p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1411895&page=230 or go to the Android development section and look for blink's thread and go to page 230 post #2298.

Sorry, I wasn't even trying to be mean or sarcastic. I merely meant, did OP truly believe that this required its own how-to thread and tutorial video? Or perhaps OP was just trolling? I even checked if OP was just trying to post to 10.
I've known this since I had DHD but in random action then I found that.
Now, with the using s2w/tt2w and 2f2w kernel sometimes during the action to wake up or lock off - It suddenly captured screen

Maybe for some newbies good to know (;
I've been using Screenshot for years. It requires a rooted device. Only recently have they decided to add an icon in the top left, which I sometimes prefer to remove.
I didn't realise you were able to take screenshots like that on GB roms and when I've been running JB/ICS roms, I've always used Power+Vol Down.
Comic sans makes the OP, at least for me.
Use the power button, but if you have a sense rom you can tweak it that you can long press one of the home, menu, back and search to screenshot
