my sdcard has been unmounting on Fission 2.0.1 since the install this morning. Anyone else have this issue?
Something strange is going on with it, as it is not the rom. I flashed the sbf again to clean it out and am on stock 2.2 ota now. sdcard is unmounting on me.
Edit: from now on my name is to be known as Daali the Idiot... 3rd install of Fission 2.0.1 inc! My usb settings changed on me during the process to usb storage, and guess what!!!! the card unmounts! DOH!.

Sounded weird, can agree with that. Are you using apps2sd? Try do a backup of your sd-card, format it, wipe and install ROM. Dont restore a backup or something.
Now copy ur files back to the sd-card and see if it makes any difference
Yeah, it sounds like your ext2 (or ext3/ext4) partition for apps2sd is corrupt. It may even be an issue with your SD card. SD cards are not optimized for ext2/3/4 partitions, and as I learned through running android on my Vogue, it's rare, but your SD card can become permanently damaged by using this filesystem on it.
If formatting your SD card like sinnadyr suggested doesn't work, I would re-partition the entire card, making your FAT32 partition smaller by maybe 512MB and have everything else the same size. This will obviously result in 512MB less usable space on the card, but at that point I don't think you'd have another option anyway.
(I may be off about the size of 512MB... I'm tired and drunk and can't be bothered to look up the actual size of the swap/ext2 partitions.)
If all else fails, try a new SD card.
Your Hero can be saved
Ok... I've had this... and this is how I solved it:
-save what you have to from sd to pc
-format sd
-partition from scratch
-reboot
-put what you saved previously back on
-done
sounds easy, but it actually took me AGES in between finding out and doing it.
In my case it was due to a combination of using a program to move the cache to SD AND mounting the SD card WHILE some app was doing something (APP2SD was enabled). All I know is I never used the cache to SD program again and 3.1 is now running smooth on my hero.
Good luck
Ciao
p.s. If the steps above do not seem to work just do all the Wipes, load another rom, play with it for 2 mins, then re-do all the wipes and start off. I know I'm being a bit confusing but trust me, problem will be solved eventually. Just make sure u have plenty of time when u start the whole process

There's a guide somewhere how to repartition your SD card through ADB, this is what I did when the same thing happened to me and the partitions were corrupted.
OK, I used xRecovery to install a custom ROM on my X10i with baseband 2.1.54 and an odd thing occured.
The fully installed ROM could not see the SD card. So, I thought that was odd and I tried another. Same problem occured so I tried another one.
Now, I can't get any ROM to recognise the SD card.
So I can take out the SD card, copy a ROM to it, and use xRecovery to install it on the phone but as soon as it boots up, then the SD card isn't recgonised.
So far I have tried Cyanogen 2.2.1 Gingerbread, MIUI and FreeX10beta 4, all to no avail. When you go to the SD card options in settings, it has them all greyed out. But xRecovery sees it no problem.
I also tried installing aROM, and then before leaving xRecovery formatting the card and then booting. Again to no avail.
Can anyone help?
Cause now, as the ROM can't see the card, PC COmpanion and SEUS won't even recover the phone because it thinks there's no SD card in it!
Help!
Thanks

I've got the same problems with every 2.2+ firmwares, while everyone says they are fine all the way. Even if I press "Mount SD Card" in Wolf's CM, nothing will happen.
Try using an app called multi mount SD to get your card mounted. I've never had that problem but have seen it brought up before.

Anyone know where I'd get a generic ROM for 2.1, baseband 2.1.54?
Cheers all

i had the same problem as well with 2.2 rom's thats the biggest reason why i went back to 2.1, seems like a few of us are having the same problem with the sd card really weird. hope someone can solve this. was using the stock c2 8g card that came with the phone.
i use cyanogenmod6.1.3 gingerbread v1 from rendiero2005 and i have to say. if my phone turns off after the initail reboot it kicks out the sd card and then i have to start all over again but if i dont reboot or turn off my pkone and just leave it on it works fine and i have no prob at all but the thing is some stuff need you to reboot and thats when the problem starts.

I've had this experience with Link2Sd by having a second (ext2) partition and running 2.2 and/or CM Roms.
You don't have to reformat your SD entirely, just go to this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928622&highlight=link2sd). You basically just have to change the ext2 partition into a FAT32. And if that doesn't work, then you delete that parition (the ext2 one).

I dont have that issue with Rendeiro2005's ROM at all with SD card. U shouldn't have that issue. Did ur sd card work before u put on the ROM?

Everyone in this post who is having issues with sd cards, this can be a issue with the lesser known brands. I have used my sandisk 16gb for over 3 years and in two different phones and never had an issue. Stick with sandisk.

I have similar issues. I use a 2GB kingston micro SD (hardly a lesser known brand, and used it in several nokia's and a LG Cookie.).
With the recent 2.3.3 release, i updated to 2.3.3 where the SD card just wasnt recognized. I then flashed a generic 2.3.3 with flashtools, same problem. I then flashed back to a 2.1 generic and the SD card was recognized again without any problem.
I then rooted and added xRecovery to that 2.1. And then installed wolf's prerooted 2.3.3. Again, no SD card... Also in xRecovery the SD card is not recognized. It give the following error when I try to format the SD in xRecovery (2.3.3):
E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/black/mmcblk0)
(Device or resource busy)
Error mounting /sdcard/!
Skipping format...
Done.
The mount option for SD in xRecovery just doesn't work, no errors.

rm -r /sdcard
mkdir sdcard
chmod 777 sdcard

Is it possible to get wifi calling working on bionix 1.3? I know they have a file on the teamwhisky link but when I extract it and add the .apk files to the system/app folder on my sd card it doesnt read it? I'm assuming im doing this wrong so if anyone can help me out id really appreciate it.
Very happy otherwise with the rom so far, its my first one.... Any other suggestions for another very stable cool looking rom? Also really looking for something with wifi calling, thanks!
Not sure if Bionix is a 2.2 or 2.2.1 rom, but wifi calling is currently half broken on all 2.2.1 roms and is therefor not recommended.
if you are loading it to the external SD card then you might not be able to get to it. I can never see my external SD card. Push all zips to the internal SD and reboot into recovery. That is info for future use.
If you have done that and it still will not work then re-download the zip as it might have gotten corrupted.
Install bloater on your phone

it is a 2.2 rom, and I was able to load it through external sd zip in recovery mode.
Wifi calling is now working flawlessly, absolutely love it
Hey folks,
Big issue here, after installing Liquid ROM 3.0 on my DX running the GB OTA, my SD card is set as Read Only, and I don't see a way to change it.
I can't change permissions from Root Explorer, and now I can't even download things to the card.
Anyone know what to do?
Thanks.
**Edit** Fixed - went to Settings>Storage> Unmounted then remounted card.
Yeah so started in developement thread, i need helps.
i have ICS bootloader, adb setup, blah blah.
I made a backup of thor's build 170 with his recovery 1.7.3 CWM.
I then flashed TWRP 2.1.0 by accident and installed Jelly Bean preview build 4.5 without internal sd card support...
FML
twrp 2.1.0 doesn't recognize the old backup, won't read external sd card for whatever reason so, f**k that.
it boots to build 4.5, which reads the external card, but not the internal and as far as i can tell no way to fix that without downloading something WHICH REQUIRES AN INTERNAL SD CARD...
is there any way to flash a different recovery from adb directly from a computer????? GAH!!! I'm supposed to be selling it in t-2 hours and i'm so boned right now.. lol?
and holy hell just found an old download on the internal sd card of one of thor's first honeycomb builds... wow. hey, it installed and just transferred the .zip over. Installed thor's recovery and rom... thank GOD. sorry for the clutter, i was just running out of ideas... i almost literally crapped myself...

okay go on cwm and go into backups and restores and then go to where it says toggle backup and restore of internal storage (data/media) and enable it, then data wipe and there you have it, hope it helps !
