Hi I found the setting mobile backup and recovery in the settings below the confidential flag, it says that setting will be shard with my google acc. But I never heard about it.

hi all, got a question about a setting in MIUI i can't find. on stock and blur based roms there is an option in settings under privacy (i think) where you can enable or disable the option to back up and restore your settings from google's servers. when i first set up this rom (1.12.9) i enabled the option to backup and restore to google during the wizard, but now I can't find the option to disable it anywhere. does anyone know how to get to it?
btw I'm not talking about the account sync settings, I'm talking about the setting that controls the backup of your personal settings in android including wifi passwords, etc.

Im looking for application that will backup my ebanking application with serial , licence number.
Every time i wipe my phone i had to went to my bank to get new licence number to activate my ebanking app.
I try to backup it with titanium backup (free) without succes.
Anyone help???

Im a noob when it comes to Titanium Backup and have looked thru all the settings and options but I cant seem to find one that will make a complete carbon copy image to restore from.
There is the option to baup all user apps + system data then create update.zip from that data but its not a "cloned image" if you will. Most app settings dont restore app passwords dont restore things like that.
Is there a option to clone device or a app that can ?

The Microsoft backup / restore provision for Win 10 Mobile on my Lumia 950 XL
leaves a lot to be desired. It is an item by item system and there are thousands
of items to backup and significant numbers have been forgotten. I made a mess
of my phone by using it.
I would like to be able to use and image backup program similar to nandroid.
I have googled for days but I have found nothing. I need some advise please.

you can wish, but not possible how you want. OS is more secure than android but some level of backup is possible

For info I did extensive changes in settings uninstalled apps etc. did a Win10 Mobile backup.
Tested by factory reset and Win10 Mobile restore and it was considerably messed up due to
Backup restore bugs. For example each individual setting has to be provided for separately.
They forgot a bunch. Uninstalled apps such candy crush saga got re-installed.
Image style backups don't have this type problem.

Do a hard reset, and then go from the beginning. Its a pain in the ass process, however, the device will work as it should.

I've received my Mi A1 yesterday in exchange for my Nexus 5X.
After powering on the phone, I could choose to restore from "the cloud". After entering my Google credentials, the phone didn't let met choose which backup I'd like to restore. On my 5X and also on the Nexus 5 it could choose a backup and then install all apps including (partially) app settings automatically.
Here on the Mi A1 no apps were restored and also if I install a previously used app from Google Play, the settings aren't restored. In the settings I've ticked the checkbox to restore app settings.
Does anyone have an idea about how to install all apps automatically or at least how to restore the app settings from the Google Drive backup?

Actually I got the option to import the app settings, call history from my old phone while setting up the phone.
I've got the hint to create a shortcut with Nova Launcher for the activity ".backup.component.CloudRestoreFlowActivity​" from the Google Play Services. But the issue is, that this activity is missing on my phone.
Could you check if it is available on your phone?

Check to see if the appdata is actually being backed up, in settings -> System -> Backup, and see when the last app data backup was performed. For many, some of those things are stuck in pending and don't actually get backed up.

I had the same issue switching from a Nexus 6P (8.1) to Mi A1 (7.1.2).
Nothing got restored (WiFi Passwords, Call Log, ...)
I restored the apps with TitaniumBackup, because i rooted the phone anyway.
I wasn't able to find a solution. Instead I had to install everything manually...
