Hi everyone,
i made this little application to menage the accelerometer on the SonyEricsson Xperia x2.
As you surely know, on the x2 accelerometer works only for a limited number of applications. And in most device, it's simply disabled at all...
With this app you can:
1) Enable / Disable accelerometer
2) Select the applications you want to rotate using the accelerometer
Soon i hope to add some functions to manage the accelerometer at a deeper level.
The interface is very simple, consider that i made the entire app in 48h... but it works.
Hope someone appreciate it. I did .
Bye.
P.S. I don't know if and how it can work with other devices. Consider that it read and write registry keys that i think are specific for the xperia x2 (HKLM\Services\MultiService\Mods\Rotation\AADRClients\...), so i dubit it can work with other devices.
tasks?
This is a great application you have made for the x2! Much needed and working flawlessly! I have used it to rotate a number of applications on my x2 including notes, messages, adobe, etc. But i havent been able to figure out how to use the accelerometer to rotate TASKS in the X2. When i select tasks.exe (In the X2 Windows folder), exit the accelerometer utility and do a soft reset, it doesnt rotate the screen when I start TASKS. But it works flawlessly in all other applications.
Can you please tell me what i am doing wrong?
Once again, thanks for creating such a fantastic utility!
Tank you .
You have to choose taskmngr.exe and it will work.
Bye.
Thanks for your quick reply, i really appreciate this.
Ya i had already included taskmngr.exe in the x2 windows folder, and i did it again after you recommended it, but it still does not rotate when i start TASKS... any other suggestions?
Great thanks MonsterMash!
Try \Windows\taskmgr.exe. should work.
Anyone gots an Idea how to add the todayscreen or even a Todayplugin?
Yeah got it! Add Windows\shell32.exe to the "rotating programs" and the todayscreen will rotate. The Windows menu also rotates

Dear MonsterMash,
Thank you for the great app!! Your Amazing.. On another note, I accidentaly changed the path of the SMS. Now I cannot find it. Can you tell me where I can locate the sms? It will also be great if you can also advise the location for the phonebook and dialer..
Cheers.
incredible app. i was wondering if anybody knows the .exe file for the home and applications screen.
microsoft and sony ericsson/sony mobile should incorporate your app into their kernel!

Hi All,
I have been working on an enhancement that allows scrolling from anywhere on the screen, not just using the scrollbars. The idea is to tweak the UI so that it functions more intuitively. This app is still in Alpha. However, for those that like this functionality and would like to help me with testing and provide me with good suggestions, that would be extremely appreciative.
Here is the run down on the app:
-Loads on startup and places an icon on the home screen.
-Currently, a flicker of the startup screen will appear during bootup.
-May not work at times on initial loading of a window.
Thank and enjoy. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Sorry guys, I had to remove the cab.
This is a great idea. I have been looking for such an application.
I installed it, did a soft-reset and the little icon appeared on the home screen as you indicated. The following is my feedback:
- the scrolling does not work in IE (where it's probably most useful)
- the direction of the scrolling is counter-intuitive. I expected that dragging down to scroll down (as in iPhone); it does the opposite.
Thanks for the application.
good idea maybe. i may misunderstand the features of this program. i'm currently able to scroll by dragging in most apps on my wm5. in IE i use PIE to scroll by dragging. in contacts (both default wm5 and inesoft address book i can also scroll by dragging. i also able to scroll by dragging in resco file explorer. for image i also scroll by dragging using resco photo viewer. am i missing something ?

the issue is that by default, you have to scroll with your stylus and there are no out of the box functionality that allows you to scroll from anywhere with your finger. Similar to the iphone.

You are right about the drag position. In terms of the PIE issue, that is known. I am working on it.
I tried to run this on WM5 and it says that my "mini" .net framework is not compatible. Is this only designed for WM6?

It requires CF 2.0. It is not designed specifically for WM 6.

You may also know this already, but I thought I mention it:
The application disables the "click-and-hold" function in IE which is used to go Back and to select Favorites.
Thanks,
Installed and works great for me - I do agree that the scrolling should be the other way round though. Thanks!
this worked great on my hermes!
One bug I noticed is that to be able to scroll through my contacts, I have to first enter my contacts list, and then click "ok" and then again open the contacts list.
Any news on development or fixed alpha version? I would really prefer this over TouchFlo on my Hermes, since it does not eat so much performance and HTCHome is excellent app though!!
Olioaglio
ei,
any news from this must have application?
dont give up, go on man, you are the one
Yeah... keep us posted on Beta, and possibly RC releases
Thanks for this apha release. I would prefer not to have the icon on the today screen because I have a limited amount of space on there.
The scrolling worked on File Explorer / Resco Explorer. Did not seem to work on my newreader pRSSreader. In PIE I always have 'screen drag' turned on so prefer to use that but would still like the right-click menu which this disables.

I tried touchflo, but it didn't give me what I really wanted...integrated functionality with the OS. I like the "coolness" of it.
I bought my Touch Dual sliding phone for the express purpose of using the sliding open and closed as the physical interface for answering/unlocking then hanging up/locking my phone. But to my surprise the Touch Dual cannot hang-up and/or lock on slide close (although it does answer/unlock on slide open).
So I've written an application to do the job.
The latest version now includes friendly configuration and integration with third party applications such as S2U2.
SlideActions and notes (this is a link to my server, so it always has the latest version).
Open source
Because I don't have the time and I've been asked for new features, and there's been volunteered help I've provided access to SlideAction's SVN repository.
I almost didn't because I never bothered to comment code I didn't expect others to see, but, well, I'm not so precious.
Here's the repository's URL::http://opensource.puna.net.nz/svn/slideactions. Accessible both by web browser and SVN client such as TortoiseSVN.
Anyone wanting to contribute can create a branch (such as opensource.puna.net.nz/svn/slideactions/branchs/new_branch) and I'll merge working features into the main branch.
Its great,
how can i make cab-file tu youse on my touch dual ?

And it wasn't hard at all. Go to the link in the first post to find the CAB file.
I should mention - although this CAB file does put a startup shortcut in place (so the application will start with the phone in future) it doesn't currently start the application to begin with - you'll have to either start it yourself (llook for the application in your Program folder) the first time or restart your phone for it to happen automatically.
Nice work Ferrex..!

I haven't tried to make it configureable in any way yet (Update:It is now). So far I've just been happy to figure out how to make it do what I need on my phone.
Ideally it ought be configureable but I don't think I'm going to have the time to do that with a busy work schedule for a while.
I find working on this stuff immensely time consuming because I'm on the wrong side of a big learning curve right now - and at times frustrating (I'm stunned at how much the VSS Deployment Project methodolgy sucks).
Thanks for this, simply fantastic. Was silently hoping that htc would release a rom upgrade that closed the action screen when the keypad slides back down. Looks like you've beaten the big H to it.
Nice work, i tried it but it kept opening the sms/mms app any time i slide it open. But it's almost perfect

That's deliberate (if you have unread messages) - I haven't accentuated the feature but the app checks if there's any unread SMS messages when you open the slide and if so opens the SMS app.
It's one of the things which ought be configureable but I haven't had time to write configuration options yet. For the moment I'm writing the application to suite my needs - and I prefer to go straight to unread txts if I haven't noticed them yet when I open my phone.
If it's doing it when you haven't unread messages it's a bug - but not with this app because that's a mistake it pretty much can't make itself, however another app interacting with SMS might not be updating the notifications correctly and thus throw my app off. I could make HTCDTExtend more robust by taking a more direct route to SMS info but I'm not going to because using WM6 notifications is the correct way to do it. Hopefully your experience is as designed and not some bug.
if i may, maybe you could just recompile an exe for those of us that want it to function without the locking feature either by just commenting out the sendkey(133) or using a null in the locking subfunction

I've made the application read settings from the registry so it can be configured. In time I'll put a graphical interface on it but for now...
By default the application Hangs Up and Locks on slide close, and on slide open, if there are any unread SMS messages opens the SMS application.
But you can change that if you wish by editing (you'll have to begin by creating them, they aren't created by the application currently [Update:These keys are created by the application now]) these registry settings:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ionwerks\HTCDTExtend DWORD:HangUp
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ionwerks\HTCDTExtend DWORD:Lock
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ionwerks\HTCDTExtend DWORD:CheckSMS
0 = Off, 1 = On for each setting.

I've assembled a version with locking disabled for people who don't want to edit their registry.
Update:HTCDTExtend has been supplanted by SlideActions. Go to the first post for a link to it's home page.

meanwhile, really doubt why HTC is so stupid to miss the slide-close-to-hangup functionality that is available on every slide-out phone.
Can I somehow add application to some list of multitouch enable apps ? I for example saw iGO8 and zoom by multitouch on some video but on my HD2 its not possible ? any idea ?
Hi,
Yes it is
add
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Software\HTC\TouchGL\VirtualDe sktop\WhiteList\IGO8]
"ProcName"="iGO8.exe"
Is there someone who can build a program with which you can add programs to the Registry.
It specifies the name of the exe and the program automatically creates the key in the registry

Wasn't there a very similar app written to add programs to a whitelist for the G-Sensor on the Diamond, Touch Pro, etc? Perhaps the creator of that app can alter it slightly?
I would search and PM him/her, but I've wasted enough of my working day already...

Hi Jetiman
Yes this is what mobilitygeek from PocketPC.ch found out (ok, with your help *ggg*)
Hi Jetiman, my forum mod Cendaryn pointed me to go here.
Yes you're right - this is working. The above key adds zoom functionality to the iGO8 app (the one with the mini-overview at the botton).
If there is a developer interested in making a useful app for that - feel free to contect me here by PM
(so I have to be active here too )
Can't promise how quick but I'll knock something together to do this......

Try Makeveral, he created G-config but don´t know if he is going to get an HD2. Now he is developing BsB WM6.5.1 ROM for Diamond.
Quick update - almost done - just needs a bit of tidying up will hopefully post cab tonight
hAndyZoom - Enable Pinch & Zoom
Here it is - hAndyZoom
Pretty simple - install the cab and run the program.
Select the program you would like to add to the 'Whitelist' for pinch and zoom then click enable and you should be good to go.
Hopefully, it works based on the earlier posts but can't test it as my HD2 doesn't come untill tomorrow.
Any issues let me know.

Sorry everyone - tried it on my TouchPro 2 and the list of files appear and it writes the registry values - HD2 coming today - I'll have a play and update as soon as I can.
Dear developers,
I have a big issue with Rhodium, apparently without solution (as I see in the forum many others have it): if I use any G-Sensor application to rotate the screen to landscape based on the internal G-Sensor, some windows/applications still show in portrait. One example is the Dialer, that cannot be "kept" into landscape just by keeping the phone in lanscape position.
I've searched the registry and found an interesting key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Keypad\IsSlideOut - value is 1 if the phisical keyboard is open and this triggers the entire Windows and Manila to rotate "for good" in landscape - no more annoying bugs and unattended rotations back to portrait.
If i rotate the phone to landscape and set the key value to 1 in registry WITHOUT sliding out the keyboard, the phone STAYS in landscape, even if it is rotated back to portrait, no matter what application is opened (in fact the phone thinks the keyboard is out and disables the G-sensor).
So, my request is for an app (exe to be assigned to long press send key) that triggers first a rotation to landscape and then changes the key in registry to 1, if the phone is in portrait; if the phone is in landscape, the app should modify the key to 0 and rotate the screen in portrait.
Is it possible to do it? How difficult it would be?
Sorry for the long post and the "non-technical" language.
Many thanks,
Radu
Solution is simple - MortScript
Dear all,
A friend has gave me the simplest possible solution: Mort Script.
For the ones that need it, here it is:
screenrotation = RegRead("HKLM", "\System\GDI\Rotation", "Angle")
if (screenrotation = 0)
Rotate (270)
RegWriteDWord("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Keypad", "IsSlideOut", 1 )
elseif (screenrotation = 270)
Rotate (0)
RegWriteDWord("HKLM", "System\CurrentControlSet\Keypad", "IsSlideOut", 0 )
else
Message ("Not a standard rotation!")
endif
Be sure to have the following value in registry before using the script:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCSensor\GSensor]
"KBDSlideOut_To_Stop_GSensor"=dword:00000001
Dear moderators, please close this thread, as I don't know how to do it.
Regards,
Radu

Hi,
Thanks for info, but I have done it since the beginning. It's working very well, but there are some bugs, like the dialer program: if in landscape I press the Send key, I have a 1 sec delay before the screen autorotates to portrait and than the dialer shows in portrait.
The only solution suitable for my needs seems so far the MortScript.

I'm glad I could help. If you use autolock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505032) you can use the attached script (original one updated) to disable the autolock while in landscape. I use autolock for suspend, incall and outcall when connected - if you use other features you have to modify the keys accordingly.

I have a question: I have a Tilt 2 and I'm looking to just beable to rotate any screen as I please...how in the world do I play/edit with Mort Script?
I'm very new to this phone and HTC in general.
Also...when I install a .CAB file. I've downloaded a few and stored them on my Memory (Scan Disc) to help conserve memory on my phone. Once it's saved on my memory disc I then loaded the program and POOF...it's done.
Is that the right way to install a .CAB file? I'm kind of lost and I hope I didn't mess anything up.
Thanks,

Everything about MortScript can be found here: http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=page&entry=ms_overview&action=view
The "Scripts" are text files (can be edited with any text editor on PC or phone) saved with .mscr extension. Install the CAB from the link above, put the script on device and double click on it in a file explorer.

It's recommended to keep the .CABs on SD card, in case you hard reset the device they are handy to be reinstalled. I personaly prefer to install the programs in main memory instead of SD card.

I believe there is a .CAB file somewhere on this website to make phone be able to switch between landscape and port...regardless of what menu or screen your looking at.

Hi,
Memory usage is affected by running programs not neccessary by installed programs - if you don't use an application and that application doesn't have any process resident in memory, it doesn't affect the amount of free RAM.
Try this to minimaze RAM usage: http://translate.googleusercontent....le.com&usg=ALkJrhgxbK5uth-OsSBjHj7d-TAJphQmUg

My Tilt2 used to run +75%. From what I read, some programs take up memory even after being closed out. I did some more searching and installed the Dynamic Resource Proxy and No Push Internet cabs from here. Now I run in the 50-60% range.

After realizing this .cab would do it's job automatically (I thought I had to set the programs that wanted to rotate), I was wondering if there's anyway to auto-rotate the Titanium U/I with this?
Hello all. I have always wondered why i was not able to rotate the screeen more for apps other than opera. Why did i need to slide open the keyboard to get landscape mode? Well in searching i found this app in T-mobile touch pro 2 forum. the discovery was made by McBrian. Unfortunately i am not too sure who wrote the app. For this i apologize. I have used xda extensively and thought that this would be a good little app to post...to give back to the community. so here it is....Once u install the the cab, go to Programs and start the application and change the default settings to suit ur preference. I take no responsibilty for what happens to ur phone
there are several apps that do that, and can be found here on xda with some searching. Thanks for the link

Dave your the freakin man!!!
I swear your everywhere!!!
Anyway, I just downloaded the program and I was having a little trouble with excluding and including stuff...
I have no idea what's going on, but I think I got it to work. It's pretty slow though...
Can you post what you have on each tab checked and unchecked. I promise this will be the last you hear from me!!!
Thanks again,
LOL don't worry about it, I'm happy to help
On the 1st tab I have Enabled, Run on Startup, and the first two directions in the next row checked. On the second tab, I deleted "manila" from the list and nothing is checked. On the third tab, nothing is checked.
As for the slowness, however, there's no way I know to speed it up. It's a shame, as it does take quite a while to rotate.
Ahh...that's the problem...
I remember reading something you wrote that said exclude Manila...but I couldn't find it.
On the second tab (Exceptions), I have nothing there.
I simply have a bottom at the top that says "ADD". If I click add, it brings a blank slate and I can type stuff on there...it's weird.
Thanks again,
so whats the difference between this cab, abd the g sensor cab that once installed allows all of the manila TF3D stuff to rotate using the phones g sensor, then any new app you add just use g sensor app to make them rotate, theres no lagg with either of these
