After browsing through most the mods, hacks and updates.....I have know idea which Custom ROM works the best and had a few ideas....
at first i wanted to run these mods....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326655
then I visited the ROM page and felt like all of them were good upgrades from the stock wing...
so heres my question....If i want to get a ROM do they come with the mods in the link above meaning I'm good
I realize the risk of flashing, should I do it on my refurbished (factory) phone?
And which ROM is the sleekest and stable of all of them
thanks for looking
-Paul
Generally, ROMs appeal differently to different people, so there is no "Best" ROM...
Different ROMs will have different features and functions and so some may include some of those listed in that thread while others may have other tweaks or changes.
I think the best way to find out what you want is to take the plunge and flash a ROM. You'll soon find out what works well for you, although don't get addicted to flashing!
As for this:

Given that it is factory refurbished, it should be fully functional and should therefore be upgradeable with no extra risk.
well, after trying about every version of XDAndroid, I'm pretty desperate!
All the messages from the search are over an year old, and don't really tell anything. Is there any cooked rom that contains android? Or, is there someone who managed to dual-boot wm and android?
The problem I have with my Blackstone and XDAndroid is the cpu-temperature and batterylife. It keeps draining my battery!

Yeah, been there, done that. But even there, most of the posts are dated 2009! I mean, that's a year ago. And thats a long time if we're talking computerstuff!

I've tried every option there is to use android on my blackstone, but... The XDandroid port is a batterydrain, and that makes it unusable for me at daily use. The source of the batterydrain is that HaReT is the basic app to run XDandroid, and the system uses full cpu and memory, because it can't adapt to the needed usage
My question is: Is there a fully cooked Android rom, so I can install it as a clean ROM. Just because a cooked ROM has the stuff that prevents a battery drain in a certain way

You have no idea what you are talking about...
Anyway there's not a cooked Android rom for blackstone yet.
The battery problem is not related on haret; is almost fixed with camro's last kernel and modules, so i presume next "official" xandroid will have this improvements and no more battery problems, we just need camera working and a couple of other stuff THEN we will begin to think about a cooked rom.
Enjoy

Well, had my camera working and stuff but, the latest kernel doesn't solve the batterydraincould it be that I cooked my own ROM? Because,if so, I'll flash a new one on it
You made a Dutch cooked android rom? Would you upload it?
Je zou me erg blij maken!!!
Camera working ?

Well, it just worked That's all... Didn't do any fancy stuff... The only thing I did was changing the startup.txt with the right screensizes and stuff but, no weird changes...
Somewhere on the forum, there's a list to write your own startup.txt... that's what I did

BTW mitikos, that's why the thread starts with a tag '[Q]'!
And, there are no stupid questions... just stupid answers...
And the part that I know of, is the linux part... Just because I've been using different Linux-distributions on a testing scale
That made the concern about HaReT...
RTFM!

Uhm, eh, oops... but I lost my Micro-SD card:$ I had two different ones... One with tomtom on it... and the one with XDAndroid... And I lost the android one... I'll search my PC for it, or else, I'll write a new one... It was death simple the first time
BTW, had different kernels and versions with the same STARTUP.txt...
So, the kernel ain't the problem

Well, I've noticed that there is a bit confusion about the soft and hard keys...
Also, the WiFi is trouble, but it doesn't work on WinMo either...
But guys, I'm heading out for work! I'll keep on testing, and let you hear all about it...
BTW, a huge problem is the CPU-temperature... Sometimes when I wanna perform a hard reset, I burn my fingers
LMAO, am I glad I read this thread . . . NOT!

And what about the CPU frequency ? I had the same problem on my Touch Pro and it was because overclock was enabled by default... may be you should just edit your startup.txt to underclock your Qualcomm.
Hey guys I just got a HD2 and ive messed around with them before but I'd like to know the most stable and up 2 date android build that people are running with htc sense on the hd2? ive looked around and there seems to be so many and so much info im getting lost on what build is best and where to go with it.. so if you know the best MOST STABLE UP TO DATE BUILD with HTC sense please send me in the right direction thanks!
Everyone has different experiences and expectations, so the only person that can answer that question is you. You just need to try some of the latest builds that are available and that suit your needs.
so far, I make my own mix from base builds and I find it stable. everything works.
how do i know what the latest build is or what the most stable is and where do i find it?

If you want to run Android from your SD card and keep Windows, go here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=735
If you want to flash Android to the phone so that it removes Windows, go here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
The builds/ROMs are all dated, so you can tell when they were made.
ALL the information you need about running Android can be found in those forums. Make sure you read the stickied threads at the top of the forums for information.
I have no idea why nobody will help you, I mean there is plenty of stickies/guides they could look for, and search function they could use to do teh work for you, plus everything is date and organised but... meh.
Anyway, I find this site to be more help as it lists everything step by step and keeps track of all the most stable builds for you, its honestly the best place to start before you jump in.

every board seems to have its smartass
is it hard to say this is the newest most stable up 2 date build that has android and sense? and am i right from what i understand any windows mobile rom 3.14.531.1 and radio 2.15.50.14 work with any of them so all i have to do is drop the files on the sd card and run the 2 files?

Indeed, and for every one smartass there are 100 people who come on ask a question that has been asked a MILLION times and expect to get straight answers!!
a) SEARCH
b) READ
c) LEARN
d) TRY
Your question has been asked a million times so there is no need to ask it again, just read the answers that have already been provided. Plus the answer to the question is subjective so you will not get a real answer because what will be stable for one person may not be stable for you.

Then go try some Desire HD or Z builds
The build that I am using is been very stable. Info is in my signature. It is a desire hd based Android sense Rom that runs via the SD card.
For initial set up I would stick with SD card or RAM builds as you can mess things up in nand builds and its a tedious process to get back to original settings. With SD card based builds if you don't like something then copy paste is all that's needed to get ur old settings.
For a guide to set it up look in the link in my signature
Cheers

Since we have a thread where the latest Radio ROMs are available,
would not be a thread about all shipped roms good too
and could gather there?

For this to work you'd need the approval of each rom chef. Plus you'd update thread with each new release?
Sent from a little black thing with flashy lights....oooh its a phone!!!
Hm,thought maybe a dev or mod can make this possible.
Because saw this at few other device sections.
Approval from ROM chef?
I mean collecting all/or most original shipped ROMs (RUU.exe)

Think he means all OEM ROMs, like all of these Stock Z ROMs that're being posted, and any/all g2 AOSP Stock ROMs, straight from the manufacturers.
Jep,right.
I know about "shipped rom" site, but only some ROMs there
Knock your socks off if you wanna dig through all this threads to collect them into a thread you create.
I'm not familiar with Desire rom or else i would
Or post it in the pinned radios roms etc thread and i'll find a way to get it into post 2 with you as the poster
first off i would like to thank all the developers and everyone else that made this site what it is today. with all the knowledge and know how here, i would really appreciate it if i can get some well needed advice on a few things. i want to makesure my phone is aup to date as possible, i understand that every phone is different but in general what can i do to update my evo4g? here is my setup now,
android vers. 2.3.3
htc sense vers. 2.1
build # mikg-sense 2.1+3.0-v3.0 b1
baseband 2.15.00.0808
if possible can you include links to whatever things you suggest? again thanks for your help.
That is best sense 2.1+ available. You're good to go.
all you need is a lovely signature.

That's great thanks for the reply. I have another question for ya then. Is my radio version good or is there a better one to flash?
There's a thread in the dev section with all the radios in it. If you're not having issues, you're good. If you want a solid stable Sense ROM, you're good. Anything past that is more of a project with bugs that need to be worked out still.
If you want to try something different and equally as stable, give MIUI a shot. No 4G though. Never will be. But it's an AOSP ROM and has a TON of cool features.
