Home Button Choppy? - Vibrant General

So... I just noticed something.
Whenever I am running some application on my phone... and I press the home button, it is a little choppy in getting back to the home screen (90% of the time). There is no lag, as it gets there very fast, but isn't a smooth transition.
However, if I ever press the back button... all the way to home, the transition is much smoother, and not choppy at all.
Anyone else seeing the same trend... and more importantly does anyone know why?
The whole thing is just a pet peeve of mine, as the choppy feel just bothers me.

CHT unlock screen lag

I'm using the CHT unlock screen. Whenever I press a button to bring up the unlock screen when the phone is lock, it shows the home screen briefly, then brings up the lock screen. Anyone know how to get rid of this lag?
this is something that you should post in cookies home tab thread instead of starting a pointless new thread which just dirties the forum.
As far as i know, there isn't a current fix for it, but it might be fixed in the next release

If you notice it only does it once. It's not really lag. I think it's just loading. I'm pretty sure the stock one does the same thing from what I remember.
Lock the phone, then hit a button to wake it up. You'll notice that it flashes the home screen then goes to the lock screen. Without unlocking it, hit the end call button again to put back to sleep. then hit it again and you'll notice it's already on the lock screen.
So I'm not really sure if this is an issue or not, but if you want to feel better, just make it part of you locking process to lock it, then wake it up, then hit the lock button again. then when you wake it up the next time to unlock it, it will be loaded and not show you the "lag" you were experiencing before.
Also I'd like to add that CHT is totally awesome. It really makes this phone the best of the best.

it doesn't only do it once, it is a lag, and the stock one doesn't do the same thing. also, waking up, locking, then waking up again to avoid seeing the lock screen right away is a bit cumbersome, don't you think? hopefully this gets fixed, i've had to restart my phone because of forgetting to wait for this lag and freezing the phone.

I guess if it bothers you that much, disable it for now and use the stock lock screen?
I still don't think it's lag since on mine if I hit the end call button once to lock it. Then hit it again to bring it back up, it only does it that time. Any time after that it's immediately on the lock screen. If it was lag it would do it every single time you woke it up right?
I guess if this weren't totally free I might care?
Mine does it also ... but frankly since Cht hmade me fall inlove with my phone all over again its not such a big deal.
cant complain when its free.

The capacitive buttons have different vibration levels?

I swapped out my Epic for a new one today cuz the screen wobbled and I noticed that on the buttons, the home button causes the biggest vibration but the others only have minor ones.
Does anybody else experience this or is it just mine...
Haven't noticed this, what I *do* notice from time to time is that if the CPU is busy with something, or the software trigger for haptic feedback is having a fly in its soup or change of mood for any reason, I'll occasionally get a longer buzz than normal from time to time. This was *very* prevalent on Evo, but rare on the Epic.
Mm yea but I've tested this out. My back button's vibration is def less strong every time than my home button.
You're totally right... home button buzzes much stronger than the others... didn't notice when I last posted. Nice catch!

On closer observation, it seems to be controlled by the length of time that the vibration motor is run.

Yea thats what I noticed, it just spins longer when you press the home button.
Anybody else experience this?
yep had it happen on mine.
Home key & back key had weak haptic feedback

Double haptic feedback

Has anyone noticed that sometimes haptic feedback seems to vibrate twice when pressing the menu button?
For some reason it really annoys me. Any possible fixes?
Yes, I notice it and it bothers me. Usually happens when the phone is lagging a bit. It makes me feel like the phone is about to crash or that something is serious wrong.
It's double because the first is for pressing it, while the second tells you that the long hold action has been activated, it's not lag

So it's not a bug, it's a feature? It only seems to be happening when pressing the menu button and feels like its random where in same situations it sometimes happens then not.

He's right about the hold feature. It actually activates the search function. The shortcut usually works outside of a third-party app.

Well, there is a double haptic feedback when you long press it, but I think he's talking quick-succession. Like, tap it, and you feel like your phone is a semi-automatic about to take off. Hah :/
If you long press it, yes, it brings up a search option, but for me, when I just press it once for a menu, it vibrates twice very quickly, so quickly that the normal person would probably not notice it.
I didn't think anyone else had this "problem."

That's exactly what I meant in my initial post. Short single press yields double vibrate.

Double/half/weak haptic
I have the exact same issue, with just the menu button.
However, mine feedback sometimes feels very weak, like a half vibrate, or glitched, or stuttered or even delayed.
Sometimes it vibrates once normally, and the second is glitched or stuttered.
I thought this was a software issue, and when I bought the phone September 25th, they told me they would have a software update by the end of that month. Now it's past mid-October and I'm worried that by the time the software update comes around, it will be past the one-month trial period.
What is the general consensus, is it a software issue, or a hardware issue, that I need to get replaced ASAP?

Why is the home button so slow to respond?

Waking up the GS3 is very slow.
Going to home screen is slow.
I know disabling S Voice home monitoring fixes the lag to go home, but it doesn't fix the lag to wake up the phone, which is much longer than other phones.
Apple is able to have the same feature (double tap for Siri) with no lag, so it is definitely something in Samsung software.

G2 4.2

Are many people still on 4.2? The only issue i have is no multitask shortcut. Holding the home is getting annoying. My G3 is also on 4.2 and has the multitask and generally seems more responsive and quicker with all actions.
