firmware
2.1-update1
baseband
sD700.0.5s.dI18
kernel
2.6.29
build number
SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI18
hardware
D700.0.5
and none of the root method on here work anymore on this update i know im doing the root methods right because i did it on the stock rom perfectly is there a way to root the di18 baseband?

Use noobnl one click root method stickied on dev forums, worked like a charm for me.

you may also flash kernels by odin which have root support like speedmod kernel you can find it here

quick question

since im on 4.5.91 --- 2.3.4 updated thru the phone, do i still need to flash the sbf file in the tutorials or can i just go ahead and root my phone without flashing it?

If you root before you update, then you will keep the root. Just don't install Clockwork mod. I think that screws up the update, causing it to fail. Anyway, My phone is rooted and on 2.3.4 and I did just this.

unlock your bootloader and you can root every firmware version by flashing superuser zip file in CWM, even 2.3.4
