Reverting back to stock SPL? - Dash 3G, Snap General

Can someone please post instructions to reverting back to stock SPL?
I read for hours tried to flash all versions and with different ways with no luck. I still have 1.19hard and cant flash stock roms because of that...

Moved to general as not rom development

I would also like too know, surely someone knows?

check in the rom development section, there you will find a download for jockyw's hspl. It also contains an original untouched stock spl for reverting. Here's a link to the download and instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550620 PS: Make sure the spl is correct for your phone. I pasted the url to get you in the right direction but you didn't mention what phone you have so you can navigate from there.

Easy question for the pros: What should my ROM be before USPL

Hi,
Last month I flashed my ROM with apparently an old method (flash of a os.nb file). I want something more recent but it seems everything is now about USPL or hard SPL. SInce I am still new I will try the USPL
-For the previous method I had to go back to the stock RUU ROM before flashing, am I supposed to do the same before USPL?
-after you USPL how would you go back to the original RUU ROM.
I searched everywhere but could not find the answer to that, it is all about hard SPL, USPL is not much discussed beside how to do it. Please don't yell if there is a place with the answer. Just point me to it.
thanks in advance for any help.
I"ve always just flashed from the last rom that I had in and had not have any problems yet. I've dont it the os.nb way and the RUU way.
Hope this helps
Bodyman is correct. Flashing the USPL way is like flashing the stock RUU way. It doesn't matter what ROM you have on first.
thanks. Flashed and it is working.

Yeah, USPL seems a little safer than hard-spling. I went from stock to open touch 3.0. I seem to be having trouble going from open touch 3.0 to 4.0 though, but I'm doing some more research as to why it's failing.

Having a few problems

I have been searching the forums for about an hour trying to figure these things out.
Previously I rooted my phone back when JF was the only ROM out and I didn't keep up with it.
Now I see that there's all these new different kinds of roms and its pretty confusing.
So far what I have been trying to do is start from the beginning because I don't know what is updated and what isn't.
Trying to un-root my phone, was following this thread. I believe I was able to update the original SPL that is in the sticky thread in development by doing the update. After that I was trying to get into bootloader to load the DREAIMG.nbh and it would just show the tri-color screen and nothing else. I hit the power button as it said on that thread but nothing showed up, waited about 30 minutes. So I restarted and tried a few times, no luck.
I reboot my phone once more and let it boot up normally and my old ROM is still intact, just wiped. I decided to just try to update to the SuperHero Full ROM and reading the thread it says newest SPL is required, which I can't seem to find which one is the newest.
Any direction or if I'm doing this wrong would be nice to know. Thanks for any help you can give.
http://sapphire-port-dream.googlecode.com/files/spl-signed.zip
that is the newest signed SPL. flash that, then install hero, along with a wipe to make sure you have no problems, and you should be good. as far as your flashing problem, what exactly are you doing?
I was trying to flash it back to RC29 and was having issues
issues with what? i dont know what the problem is unless you tell me
if it is a flashing issue for the SPL, there are many threads in the dev section.... as far as downgrading, there is another thread over in the dev section, go check them out

I followed the downgrading or unrooting thread.
When I try to downgrade to RC29 in bootloader, it goes to a tri-color screen with just Serial0 in the middle with the Radio version and such, then does nothing else. I'm going to try skipping downgrading, wanted to start from scratch but I will just try to switch from my ROM to SuperHero's and see how it goes.
update: I did the SPL update from that link and now its stuck on the boot screen (G1 logo)
Are you able to enter into recovery? (Power on while holding the home key) if so, place the rom of your choice (something other than the Hero Rom until you are sure you have the latest SPL and radio) on your sd card, name it update.zip wipe then apply the update. This should get you up and running. Also? Which radio do you have?

Thanks for the help. Going to try this out and see how it goes. Thanks all.
No problem. This thread can be closed now.

Flash Radio Without HSPL / Revert to SPL after Radio Flash

Hi, Searched without luck once again (Can Someone give me the Google Advanced search URL that they use to search the HD2 section?)
I am rather new to flashing and would like to flash to Radio 2.08.50.08_2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632833. I have the following file for the flash: RUU_Leo_Radio_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2.exe
My two questions are:
1: Can I flash just the radio without installing HSPL?
2: If not, Can i revert back to stock SPL after flashing just the Radio ROM?

1) No unless it is made for your specific region which in this case it is not.
2) I wouldnt advice it, why would you need to do so?

Yes, by sd card flashing your original stock rom BUT in doing so you would also flash back the original stock radio.
I'd install HSPL, flash your radio, and then only flash back to stock should you ever need to remove HSPL.
thanks
Thanks for the replies. Thought I should revert to the stock SPL coz I'm scared I forget to reflash should I need to send it in for repairs.
But I suppose I just gotta make a long lasting mental note to do so. Whats the best method of flashing the radio with HSPL? SDCard or PC?
(I am using a zip file with an nbh and a custom RUU rathere than the exe stated above)
stay away from sd card flashing. Theres no need, and it isn't so safe (opinion, im sure there are plenty of people will tell you otherwise, heh).
Instal HSPL, flash the radio from USB, reboot, job done, forget about HSPL even being there unless you need to return it, in which case flash the stock rom from sd card and hspl is gone.
unzip the nbh into a folder(maybe rename it RUU_Signed.nbh, i forget), copy customruu.exe in there too, run customRUU.
check out the videos in here mate it might help you

Actually flashing JUST the radio via microsd card is a very fast and efficient way of doing it as long as it is just the radio image and nothing else. I used to travel quite a bit and had different radios that worked better in different countrys so I had them all saved on my card and then when you want to change radio you can just rename it to LEOIMG.nbh, move it to the root of your microsd card and enter bootloader to flash.
Flashing via microsd card is in essence alot safer as long as you stay FARR away from stock roms.
I would advise you to keep HardSPL on your phone for as long as you can. Its like having a get out of brickville card just in case anything goes wrong. The only way you wouldnt be able to flash back a stock spl is if the screen broke or you dropped your phone and I dont think its going to be covered by warranty then anyway lol.

[Advice required] Restore to Original SPL from HardSPL

Hi.
I have noticed quite a few thread stating this already but I notice most of them does not seems to be suited to this device.
I'm pretty new at this so I apologise if there are terminology that I do not understand.
I'm using HTC Snap S526 (S521 non-camera edition). I need to revert back to the original SPL so that I can send for servicing.
I'm currently using the 3VO custom rom with HardSPL 1.17.
I notice in the 3VO thread as well as the downloadable 3VO package, there is the original SPL file "maple-original-spl-1.17.nbh", but there are no instructions on how to use it. Can someone please kindly guide me along?
Thanks in advance.
Update: I have tested the following by reading various thread by with no avail:
I have tried putting maple-original-spl-1.17.nbh/maple-original-spl-1.19.nbh in a memory card and renaming it to MAPLIMG.nbh, then run bootloader by holding the vol-down button when turning on device. I press power button to start flashing as instructed by the screen. However, despite saying "success", my bootloader still shows SPL1.17 Hard. What did I do wrong, is there any other steps I can take?
Thanks
download the hardspl file. inside the folder you see 1.17hardspl.nbh or 1.19hardspl.nbh....replace it with the original nbh inside the main folder. then simply run auto.bat

[Q] Reverting to stock - clarification required please

I'm hoping there is someone here to clarify some information regarding ROM flashing for me by answering a few questions.
I want to be able to flash ROMs and kernels, but be able to return completely back to stock. As I understand, this is not completely possible but I want for somebody to tell me I am wrong?
1... Will an RUU revert back to s-on?... that is what I'm assuming cannot be reversed.
If s-off cannot be reversed I plan to just root, then replace all apks with the odexed and zip-aligned versions from the Modaco ROM instead.
2... Will I still be able to flash an OC kernel with root enabled but with s-on?
3... If this is possible then I assume I can revert to stock from any of this with the RUU, correct?
Thanks a lot.
That's not correct, you can go back to stock even if you flash custom ROMs etc.
But do *not* just apply a stock RUU once you have a custom ROM, see this for more info as to why not - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=838484
Follow the guides in the dev forum on how to return to stock.

Thank you for the swift reply!!
That's sweet music to my ears.
If you don't mind just giving me the nod to this then...
My Build number: 1.34.405.5 CL273326 release-keys
So to unroot and s-on I can follow the following little section from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835971 using the PC10IMG from the EURO generic 1.34.405.5 rom.zip.....
Step 2.) Restore factory BOOTLOADER, RECOVERY, KERNEL, ROM (THIS RE-ENABLES S-ON)
Place the factory firmware you downloaded in step 2 above on the root of your sdcard and rename it to PC10IMG.zip one you have done this power off the device and power back on by holding volume down and power. Once in the bootloader it will then scan your sdcard and find the file needed, be patient this can take quite a few minutes. After it finishes scanning you will then have to hit the Volume up key on the side of the phone to restore the software. This will take approximately 5-10 minutes. The phone will reboot in the middle of the update to restore S-ON once rebooted it will then scan sdcard again and resume flashing. Once completed you will have to hit Power to reboot and boot back into the factory restored android os.

..... then just run the 1.34.405.5 RUU?
Or do I need to downgrade to an older ROM 1st as stated in that link I looked at above?
Thanks again
I don't think you need to run that RUU at all, but please wait till someone else confirms if you're going to try this yourself, I don't have enough experience yet to say for sure.
Ok no problem, I'll worry about it another time. Now, know I can go back if I need to, I can start playing!!!
thank you.
If anyone else can add to this please do.
