There is even Nokia in that list.
I guess that's because people have choice to add their own options.

well there is always a chance, tht when marcell ends his cm7 our devs will try with other aosp
but it would be nice to get official support from miui devs for our phone
what i wish will happen: complete CM7, complete GB AOSP, complete CM9, complete ICS AOSP, MIUI port by marcellusbe xD this would be so cool. I would actually be happy to see that. I think we will have something similar by the start of summer. I hope...
well, if marcellusbe finish his AOSP, we will probably have miui port by some devs, coz the biggest problem is to get AOSP working anything else will be a childs play for them
I want to say many many thanks to the members and devs here in the x8 forums, thanks for making my tiny X8 more powerful and awesome to use...
but im sad to say im leaving you all behind now as ive upgraded my phone to the Galaxy S2.. and ive just flashed the official ICS and all i can say is that its sooooo worth it.
For people in the UK i strongly recommend going for the £30 a month contract on 3uk, u get the phone free and i get all u can eat data and enough txts n minutes to last me...
Ive still got my X8 so ill be popping in and out to have a play but now my new home is over at Galaxy S2 HQ.
Extra Big thanks to Paul-xxx doixhan, racht, nAa, alfs and the other people who have put in hard work for us seeking a better life for our phones.... MUCH LOVE . PEACE

So, you still got an X8, you can try something new for it in here
Hello all X8 users, I have something to say to you.
I have been on the X8 section and testing rom when Ratch and Doixanh almost was the only devs, and we was happy about the "Sense" roms with just basic functionality.
But in August 2011 weve got roms wirh working camera and everything.
But now everything is changed, we have more less developers which is quite sad, because more users are buting new phones right now.
Some of the best devs like Doixanh has left us, bu there is still hope from devs like nAa.
But now its time for me to leave you, and buy Arc S In about 20-25 days.
I will always remember all the fun I had with my X8 and all the great roms and modules.
I think Its quite sad to leave you, but the X8 has just to bad size of the ram for me.
But overall X8 is quite a nice phone, and I think it has the best speaker ever. My buddy has Sensation XL and he thinks X8 has better sound then hes XE.
I like the screen too, really good resolution, but I hate that I have Synaptic.
But how many of you are left, and when are you gonna buy something new?
Sent from my E15i using Tapatalk
Well...i'll see u in arc section later and i hope u will develop for arc s as well with ICS coming in 1-2 weeks more

I never joined the forum but i used to visit it since march. That was the time we had floyo from racht and minicm form nAa and ponovon with pretty much eveything working.
that was pretty hard time. Now the development is quite stable.we have paul and nAa left(Ill be dev someday, when ill grow up )
I will remain in this forum till october...
I'll be on the x8 forums til October or December, unsure where I'll go.

It is a sad day where a dev like you are leaving XDA X8 section, but your contributions were of high value and hopefully you will keep visiting us.
well all i can say is thanks for everything you have done
but i will stay here as long as my x8 is working. then probably buy Xperia S, P, U or sola...
Bro dont go...read my PM
Good Luck !
The most pathetic thing for me in this community is, when there are people who will be leaving this community, especially people like you.
But I must accept it, And Good Luck, Oyeah! dont forget to visit us here when you have a free time Dude!

I will buy something other, when my xperia will be broken... for now o have it like for 1,5 yrs and its still OK so much people say that touchscreens are bad because they are broken really quickly. But not for me every phone in my life i had like for 6 months - to a 1 year and it was broken. Now i have my lovely x8 for 1,5 yrs, and i dont see any sign that it will be broken in near time so i will not buy any other phone untill my x8 is working

You are the choosen one! Keep up the good work brother!!
x8 is a great device started by running android 1.6(donut) and it's still working with android 2.3(gingerbread) maybe fully function with v4(ICS) in next few months. What's a great device! But it was built for v1.6(cpu 600mhz but dev make it be able to overclock to more than 700mhz, ram 256 but 184 accessible) so i have to say that newer device can run smoother as they were built for newer version. Anw X8 is my first android phone and it's a great device to me!

Hello all.
Let's post some positives of the EVO, and some negatives. Feel free to debate, and express opinions.
Try and structure it like this:
Positive(s):
-One of the most developed phones
Negative(s):
-Battery life typically sucks without some sort of extended battery
Rules:
-There really are none, say whatever you want, and if this thread gets closed, then it gets closed. lol :good:
I'll try to make this fair in reason that advancement in phones over time can set the evo back.
Pros
-First 4G wimax phone
-Digitizer upgraded to gorilla glass in HW revision.
-8MP/Dual LED flash
-HDMI port
Cons
-qsd8k (porting)
-shipped with froyo
-SDCard bay placement
-No Sense 2.0/2.1 update

PROS
Cleared the way for other phones to have huge screens.
Broke barrier for 4G.
It was a tank. I dropped it twice and no screen crack just a minor bump.
Lots of development.
Ability ton run pure android and sense variations.
CONS
Also somehow allowed for phone. companies to charger for "premium data".
Overly developed. I thank everyone for their attempts but the dev section is way over saturated.

Pros:
A legand in the smartphone industry.
Great overall device
Great development even after 2yrs
Best damn 1st phone a person could ask for
Cons:
Its starting to show its old age (a little)
Wasn't updated to its full potential (couldve easily handled sense 2.1)
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Pro: it is the truth that all others measure by. Still solid. Still strong.
Con: 512 on the ROM, RAM, whatever it's called its far too low.(who knew)
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Pro-its strong. Con-wish it was soda and water proof but I managed to save it, again lol.
Pro:
Easy to root
Great development still going on for it.
As others have mentioned, started off the Big Phone craze, to which I plead guilty.
Con:
My first one took a crap on me, had to get a replacement when I had it all set up just the way I liked it.
SD card placement (already mentioned, but bears repeating)
Low internal memory.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
Cannot think of anything to add as far as pro's go. However, as a con I'll say the USB port is a weak point, with all the broken USB port horror stories I've encountered, including my own.

cons - hmmmmm
Pros: Best dev support of any device continuously over the last 2.5 years.

As with so many other people, my phone contract has expired. As such I now have a beautiful Xperia T to replace my X10 with. However two years together with it can't be so easily forgotten so it is with a heavy heart that I say good bye to this corner of XDA. It has been quite a journey- the debate if we would get gingerbread, about dual touch, the 16m colour screen? I remember it all! I was here when the founders of the X10 community were eager- DoomLord, Trip'n'raver, Z, J rdannar and all the countless others. In the past year however, they have been replaced with the likes of ChampionSwimmer, Amin, WolfBreak, FeraVolt and Vasishta Reddy. So the X10 thrives and survives! Although I will no longer have the device I will still check in ocassionally and if I can share what I have learnt in the past 24 months I will do so gladly. To the Devs all I can say is keep on rocking and make our x10 shine! To the users, obey the forum rules and keep faith

Barnaby

just out of curiosity...why Sony as ur next device???
A combination of ui, the specs and that I love Sony's designs! I was so envious of the arc! The t was all I wanted and more! Factor in the my fan boy attitude and the James bond stuff it was ideal! HTC I don't like the ui, same as Samsung. IPhone I say no to on principle and the others aren't nice...

Hey Galcactus,
I can understand leaving this community isn't nice. There has been a great development and there is a great community-feeling.
I recognize everything you've said. I also was there in the early days (remember the F5 party's on TripNRaver ROMs).
But good stuff ends some days.
Even that my subscription has ended already (beginning of september) I'm still using it, with my x10.
Newer subscriptions cost me more money. So I'm thankfull that there still are dev's for x10, that can give me ICS.
Anyways, have fun with your Mr. T!
