Is it just me or its hard to press input fields sometimes?

I do occasionally run into trouble trying to select text fields for editing on some pages.

I just switch over to android from the iPhone.
It seems that android is a missing one of the key features that is very curial, which is the ability select text from Text Messages and be able to copy/paste it elsewhere.
I often have times where I would like to copy a txt message I receive and be able to paste it somewhere else (in a browser or into another txt message).
Is there a solution for this?
long press...

Doesn't work. When I long press, the only options I have is to call the contact, forward the message, etc. No option to select the text and copy it.
I know I've been able to do it in the past so I opened a text message to prove it to myself and lo and behold I can't long-press to select/copy/paste either! Must be the rom I'm using (MDJ FroYo Revolution 1.4), can't think of any other reason though surely something as fundamental as this should be cooked into any rom regardless of flavour?! Weird.
Long press works on miui.. Just hold your finger on the text message copy message text.. Hold finger on input box and paste... Works here and on every rom I've tried..

Ya, I think its an issue with the ROM. I just switch from FroyoStone to MDJ Froyo Sense Clean 2.3, and it still doesn't have the Copy/Paste feature in the Messaging app.
My friend has a Droid, running Froyo 2.2, and he has the copy/paste feature in his Messaging app.
My current setup does have the ability to Copy/Paste in the messaging app. The way I do it is long press the selected text and press "Forward". Then you can long press on the input box and select the "Copy All" (it's the only option). Also works pasting in the browser url bar.

Quick solution is to long press the message and select forward, then you can edit it and send.

better to use handcent sms program.
Does anyone know if there is a way to have the enter key send an SMS Text as opposed to having to hit the send key?
i would love to have that feature! i just want to ask of that and get your question
Nevermind, wrong directions. Sorry

yes. Open your messaging app, then hit the menu button, click settings and scroll down until u c the ” send on enter” option. Frankly, I think its annoying as u will find yourself sending messages when you actually meant to hit back space and delete your typo
Would like to use Handcent messages for a while but get two notifications each time i receive a message, i have un-ticked all the boxes in settings but still getting two notifications each time. I am missing something here or is this normal ?
Thanks

With Sense and CM10.1 on the Evo 3D, I could read texts or at least see who texts were from without going into the messaging app. With Touchwiz on the S4, the dropdown notification just says that there's a new message. Since expandable notifications are a big part of JB, why doesn't the messaging app use them? Is there any way I can change this behavior without rooting or installing another ROM yet?
Download another messaging app such as handcent or go sms?

1. Go to the messaging app.
2. In the main part of the app (not inside individual thread) tap settings button.
3. Scroll down and look for the "Preview Message" and check that option.
4. Multiple messages can be previewed by sliding down with two fingers on the message notfication.
5. Hit thanks if this helped

This.
It's a feature some people use because they don't want their messages being shown the second they get them for privacy in case anyone is looking at their phone. Be sure to peek around in the settings.

Hi everyone. I am trying to set a text message signature and I have googled up where to go to set one but the option is not there. So, how do I set a signature?
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Open the message application, press menu then settings.. look in the Storage option. Check box that says Auto add signature. It will ask you to enter text as signature ... at least that is where it's at on the Verizon model.
If not on ATT then download GO SMS it has the signature option
