gentlemen, i saw here a few days ago a .cab file for a GPS based compass and inclino meter for sense/manilla 2.5 or winmo 6.5
ive searched my ass of, to re -find the page, but i cant think of anymore queries to find it.
does somebody has a clue where to find this thread?
thanks in advance
here ya go.

I saw it, thought it would be great for when I go offroading in my Jeep, so I installed it, worked OK, but I had these problems. The program isn't completely translated, some buttons and text pop up in Russian. I could not uninstall the tab, even after following the uninstall instructions to the letter, had to hard reset.
Thank you, this was what i was looking for. gonna try this out in my 4x4
Also saw landmeter 2.2 , it also looks usable, but it costs money and for a few Euro more you have a real landmeter for your vehicle.
thanks!
Never heard of landmeter, gonna have to check it out. My son had a inclinometer app for his I-junk touch but, like all apple crap the hard drive fried so now we're looking for something for our winmo phones.

Hi wondering if someone can help.
In the latest rom update from O2 if you install the active UI it will give you a battery today plugin which is quite handy.
Now my question we all know the ActiveUI is horrible will slow down the exec and take up to much space. Is there anyway of stripping out this battery today plugin form the ActiveUI and creating a cab file so it will just install this part. I think the file that is needed from the ActiveUI is BatteryNFO.
Many Thanks
Scott
Wow 50 views and still no one got an answer????
Got to say I'd love this too. I've tried other battery monitors, and none are as good as that one.
Ok i have been looking in to this since i posted and have extracted the signed_UNI_o2AUI4_build88.cab file to my home machine. From What i can see there are 7 files that could be related to this 4 of which start with batter~1.029 and so on the other 3 start with power_~1.070. is there anyway of telling what these files are actually for.
Im no expert at this but surely it can be done as i have seen people have ripped the connection settings from this cab file before so surely the same sort of thing can be done with this.
Cheers
Scott
i agree...looks quite nice this battery plug-in...hope sum1 finds a way of getting it as a cab file soon
Still looking in to this and not going to let it beat me to.
Has anybody ever used this software before.
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=12093
MagicCab PocketPC CAB extractor 0.63
It looks like it is going to do what i need and be able to strip out the battery today plugin from the cab and even tell us what reg settings we need to enter to if i am reading it right but before i commit myself to the $10.95 has anyone ever used it before to clarify that it will do what i need it to do.
If you want something more professional use WCE CAB Manager.
Why not use Batti ?
It gives you just as much information, doesn't take up valuable Today space or slow down your machine, is visible in every application not just Today, and runs in just 20K. And it's free
Right
So far with the advice given to me by ibendlin about wince cab manager and after several hard resets (trial and error thank god for spbpocket backup lol) i have manged to get half way there. But i am having a problem getting the skins to work
As you can see i have manged to sort the today plugin but im having problems getting the skins working even after a soft reset.
Maybe someone can offer some advice i will gladly forward the cab that i have created so far if anyone can offer some suggestions.
Ineedtoys: So far i have manged to get this down to 14kb as for the space on the today screen user preference really, but thank you for your advice on batti.
Anyway off to bed will work on this some more tomorrow
OK, if you dont activate the ActiveUI thing in programs then you can have life without it. To get it to go away now that its on goto \windows\startup and delete the ActiveUI file in there. You cant seem to unistall the program. I just avoid the icon like the pluage.
There are more complex ways of getting what your looking for, but this one is simple and effective
JAmes
ps. then soft reset
Hi James
Tis true what you are saying and this way will work but unfortunatly you will also get about 10mb worth of extra programs installed from the activeUI which take up the oh so precious Device storage space where the actual battery bar it's self only takes up around 14kb
But thanks anyway
yeah but the newer people to the scene might not like playing about with things. I've only just got use to playing about with stuff and up untill now I've been using this solution.
Now i've had the phone a wee while i'm happy to start going for corporate mode but was easier not to when i was just getting use to the whole PDA type stuff
JAmes
I know what you mean we all had to start somewhere right lol.
I stopped using the the personal install about a month after i had my exec it was only through advice from these forums that i actually found out how much space the activeUI took up and also how much it slowed it down.
I use this one:
it shows 2 lines: one for main Battery status and one for Backup Battery status (no more exists in WM5); it works well
tried this one but I still think the one in the latest rom release from O2 looks sharper/prettier....
Yeah i'm planning on giving up the basic mode soon.
let me know how you get on, as I too like this battery meter.

Fellas
I Have done it, Sort of. Still a few bugs but i don't think i will be able to sort these limited knowledge and already about 10 hard reset's.
I have been using now for around 8 or 9 hours now and all seems to be fine after the install no memory loss or anything.
Works well in True VGA to.
congrats m8..any chance of u posting the cab file here?
hiya scotjen,
dont mind you posting it out here??
thanks...
damn, I still have a Champions League game against Arsenal later.
got to get back to training soon
Well done.
What bugs are you still experiencing. Maybe someone could advise you further?
Hi all,
This is my first post on the XDA forums
I bought a Touch HD a few days ago and absolutly love it but I'll be honest
and say that I think it's far from perfect, but I think the same thing about the
iPhone, Android etc.
Anyway's the first thing I wanted to know is, when you click the Windows icon
in the top left-hand side screen it shows the 7 programs you want listed but
also 4-5 recently used apps. Is there a way to get rid of the bit that shows
these 5 recently used apps?
Maybe a registry tweak?
The 2nd thing (which has been bugging me since I got the phone) is, in the
programs tab in TouchFlo 3D. How do you move the position of the programs.
I like to have my programs in a particular order and when I add a new
program to that tab, I find it ridiculously silly that I have to delete an app
first and then put the one I want in it's place. Am I doing something wrong
cos I just can't seem to work this out.
Could I also ask whether you guys recommend any good system utility
apps that can keep my device fresh and clean, not slow and cluttered.
I tried HD Tweak yesterday but to be honest wasn't overly keen on it.
Thanks for any help

If you don't like HD Tweak try Advanced Config or SKTools, both attached
As for your queries:
2. Not sure there is a way to move these programs about into a particular order. You'll just have to stick with removing one and then replacing it
I may give the other 2 tools a go as well then.
I've heard Advance Config could be buggy at times though.
I still can't believe there's no solution for problem #2. Deleting programs then
replacing them is so long when you've got a massive list of apps. I'm sure the
iPhone has a solution for this, makes me wonder why HTC didn't implement one.
Anyone got a solution for my first problem as wel LOL
Cheers for your help Fallen Spartan
EDIT:
Just wanted to say thanks for recommending SKTools. Looks to be exactly what I was looking for.

You can rearrange the programs using Diamond TF3D Config!
Cheers mate. Will try that out today then
Anyone got a solution for my firtst issue?
It p*sses me off with the amount of space the recently opened programs
takes on the start menu.
posted a couple of days ago and didnt get a single reply.
I need a calculator app.
the HTC one is perfect EXCEPT no % key. This is killing me as I need this 10-20 times a day and the landscape version has a percentage key but is faaaaaar to complicated and works thing out in the wrong order for me.
ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
take your pick

I will assume that that was meant as help and not sarcasm Checked google and all I can find before wanting to scratch my retinas out in boredom was very poor (cant code myself so much better than I could do), tiny keyed ones or scientific, engineering.......etc.
If it was as easy as looking on google I would not have even bothered posting, thanks for the suggestion though.
I am not lazy just wondered if anyone had come across one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=472819
Cheers for that suggestion Matt, have tried that one before I think. Just downloaded it again as I now have unlocked my HD, but it still wont work. Installs fine, but cant find an icon, cant even find where it installs and the standard calc still opens unskinned.
On a positive note thats just what Im after.
look with explorer or similarly in windowspath after "calculator.exe"
make ur own shortcut - hit him and have fun
@ my HD it works!
Brilliant works now, cheers mate

I know I'm going to catch hell for this. I've seen all the "Use the search" field responses. I've used the search field, google, wiki, yahoo, etc in search of a pink, or neon flip tf3d clock for my stock At&t tilt 2. I at one point had it, don't ask me how - pure luck I guess. I lost it due to a hard reset from a bad install. So any help is super super appreciated!
My current theme right now is a combo of the dusk theme and icons from http://tp2.bfgreenberg.com/tp2more.htm
I'm all in all just looking for either a kick ass pink and black theme - not too girly but just enough to look wicked or a transparent pink clock. Like I've said, I have searched and searched and I just can't find it again!
Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.

Update I flashed my Stock At&t rom to HTC's default Rom - WOWZA
This is a lot to read but hopefully it helps someone, somewhere. The newb guides just confused me for a long time. I thought a simple numbered step by step might help...?
After being scared out of my wits of flashing a new rom on my stock AT&T tilt2 I decided to go for it. Granted, I was only going from the stock US At&t rom to the one released in Europe - but it had sense 2.5 and it seemed as though just about everything I've found on XDA only worked for 2.5! So I tested the whole process out on my husbands HTC Pure - better to brick his than mine lmao! After fiddling for 15 minutes or so and realizing that I had sucessfully flashed my first rom I decided I'd go for it. To make things easier for anyone who might come across this thread I thought I'd post this - the dummies guides on xda helped me a great deal but some of it you can only figure out on your own.
1.
First off, I needed a hardspl program that I found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
Also there I found the newbies guide to flashing the rom which I found invaluable in the whole process. (run that hard spl on the computer - ignore the antivirus warnings (i had tons and windows 7 wouldn't let me do a thing until I disabled ALL my antivirus settings and ran the program as an administrator)
2.
then after failing to install it I found it was required that I get this .cab
http://hpcmonex.net/roms/enablerapinew.cab
which needed to be run on the phone
3.
After installing the enabler program I was able to run the Hard SPL program dealie. Nothing really happened on my phone yet.
4.
I then found this list
http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped/Rhodium/
and clicked on the fourth one down ->
http://www.shipped-roms.com/shipped...01.1_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.91_Signed_Ship.exe
I had to tinker with it for a while to figure out whether or not I was running this program on my phone or on the computer. Answer - the computer.
5.
I hooked my phone back up to windows mobile device center (everything on xda said activesync - same thing basically) let it sync (which it only did while the phone was on and running - not in tricolor. The instructions from the newbies guide varied a bit here, a lot of them said go into the tricolor (which is really 4 colors but hey, i'm not going to gripe) bootmenu and load it from there. however, windows mobile device center did not recognize any device as being plugged in when i did that - only when i started the phone all the way up. Alas - I ran the program from my desktop with the phone hooked up and the progress bar started moving.
(mind you it took me a while to get all this figured out, it'd stall, or say failed. This is when it finally all came together for me)
6. Phone shut itself off a couple times during the process, went to the boot screen and I got nervous. Finally at 100% it restarted and I noticed immediately it didn't make that annoying warhawk sound. I looked and boom - I had sense. I tinkered with the phone for awhile, playing with my new on screen shortcuts that weren't there before reveling in just how awesome htc's stock rom was in comparison to the crap at&t's came with when I noticed
that my keyboard wasn't quite right...all the numbers were wrong. Search---found another fix here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=584116
Still tinkering and now I'm on my quest to personalize my new phone. Perhaps now that I can actually get some of these tweaks and mods posted on here I might be able to have my groovy pink clock that I've always wanted. A girl can hope right?

That 2nd link is awesome. I like a bunch of these clocks, especially quarantined. Thanks so much for the great links.
Hi Guys,
Just got my new HD2 and wow, what a phone. I just retired a 3GS after about 12 month and wanted back to WM which I really missed. That said, the iPhone gave me some bad habbits that I need to break.
First thing I did was flash the HSPL ready for flashing some new roms but before I do that, I wanted to get used the WM again. My last was 6.5 on a kaiser so this is similar but different.
Anyway, couple of things. First is the Facebook app. On my iphone, when someone had posted XYX Name Likes the Group "WM 4 Me", the "WM 4 Me" portion was linked. I dont see that in the WM app. Am I missing something or is it that you cant just jump to that group? Any tips here.
Next thing is if anyone can recomend a good program to remote erase all data if I loose it or if there is anything out there to enrypt my sd card to make it useless without a password?
Last, is there a way to get the HD2 into landscape mode? I assumed it would be automatic but... Thats what I get for assuming.
Thanks in advance guys.

stock rom isnt landscapeable, some cooked roms are, but its never been released like that, it was a test rom that leaked with the landscaped tabs and the chefs cooked them in.
I'm running the stock ROM and it's correct there's no native landscape rotation built in, but I've been using the cab attached below, and it works great for putting sense and even WM apps (like file explorer!) into landscape when you physically rotate the phone. Just put the cab on your SD card, run it (install to phone), then soft-reset.
Hey thanks guys. Just installed the cab and bingo. Dont know why they didnt send it from the factory that way?
Sam, going to se if I can get hold of that remotetracker and give it a shot.
So far, happy with the stock rom so I might just tweak it a little bit. Would still like to figure this Facebook app out. Is it an actual app or a mobile webpage I'm looking at? Also need to find a new gps since my old favorite site (gpsunderground)seems to have shut down.
Thanks again.

Cheers mate. If you have any must haves, let me know. I'm searching for footprints and I should be done.
