Iam new to the flashing
I have herald (HTC P430 HERA) with wm5 ,i tried to upgrade to wm6 with TOUCH-IT.I installed the SPL and then ran the RUU ,everything was perfect the installation started normally ,durin the installation i chose the option to use the keylock ,when my htc started it kept on asking me the password on the device which i entered but it did not accepted .i kept on trying and eventually took out the battery. When i restarted the device it got stuck on a green scnreen with spl 1.08.0001 and when turned off i tried going in to the bootloader but everytime i run the same ruu it gives me erorr 300 i have tried several times now, donwloaded each and every ruu but all in vain and im in pain .sometime the screen get stuck on 0% . Can somebody help or atleast direct me to the right area.
at least it we could reach 1% rom update can be done
i think we can handle it via bootloader commands
you need to install enablerapi....
.......................
You have to download the official Tmobile RUU (google it), and reinstall it. After that before you try to flash your phone you have to take the Enablerapi cab and put it on your phone. After that do a hard reset. If you dont know what that is by now you shouldnt be flashing your phone. But anyway hold the buttons above the talk and end buttons and press the reset button at the same time. A black screen will come up and ask you to press the talk button (green button), press it and the phone will do a reset. Configure your screen and connect phone to active sync/WMDC and make sure you put the phone in airplane mode. Then run the uspl again and follow the directions on the screen.
Hi everyone,
Ok, My names Z and I have been reading the forums on this site regarding TMO Wing and flashing over and over again. I then felt confident enough to flash my Wing using USPL. ( following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421304 )
I can only get to step 7. ( Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.
* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.)
upon reaching 7 my screen stays white then the RUU pops up (my screen stays white) but i get an error that reads ERROR 203, now all i can do i click exit.
My Spl is 4.26.
My Ipl is 4.26.
I have tried this 6 times
Thanxs for the help.
Z
Try re-installing the USPL again
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO and the you open it and open the RUU file copy and paste whatever nbh rom you want to flash run the herald uspl hit enter its going to prompt you then hit enter again this time you screen should go white at around 75 and when its at 100 active sync will disconnect by itself and reconnect then follow steps from there. Make sure you check all boxes and agree.
The best way to ensure that your rom will flash well i always flash the OEM wing rom first... I use the upgraded v. I have it if you need it.. Try all the steps again and again.. One thing i have noticed thou.. If you leave your wing on for a little well hooked up to activesycn it has stupid problems.. IDK why but eh.. I just disconnect and try again.. If you need ne help let me know... pm me.. I made a detailed step by step video on flashing the wing but stupid youtube kicked if off!!!!
THANX
lol, what an idiot, well me of course! It seems that i had the TMO stock rom in my RUU folder instead of the custom one.
well thanks for the reply though. I wouldn't have noticed it if i hadn't re-downloaded the USPL.
Well I'm going to unlock my phone (Sprint Touch) for the first time. I'm trying NFSFAN's wm6.5 ROM. Wish me luck. Hopefully my reading comprehension skills are up to the task so I don't skip a step and blow something up.
---
Question 1:
When I'm going to run the unlock utility, should ActiveSync actually say that it is connected to the phone? When I get to the rainbow screen ("Serial") then plug in the usb wire, the phone switches to "USB" and I hear the "something's connected" noise in XP. ActiveSync, however, still says "Not connected"
...I seem to be stuck here, at the beginning. At least my phone still works
One comment: the NFSFAN 6.5 ROM FAQ seems to want me to run the unlocker with the phone at the Rainbow screen. The PPCGeeks thread by IMCoKeMaN seems to say that you just run the unlocker with the phone normally attached to ActiveSync without unraring or Rainbow mode... Who is right? Am I just confused?
It seems like ActiveSync actually connects to the activesync program on the phone, so when you are in the rainbow screen, it connects without the OS being involved and AS won't show as being connected. If I remember, running the unlocker will put it in rainbow mode and you don't have to do that first. But it has been a long time since I unlocked mine and I forgot the details. I do remember I followed IMCoKeMaN's directions to the letter. Good Luck! It is scary to start, but these guys have got this stuff down to a science!
David
for the unlocker you go throught activesync. then to flash NFSFAN's ROM put the phone into bootloader. You can flash the rom using activesync but i've just got into the habit of using manual bootloader.
Knave,
Please let me know if the W6.5 works well on the HTC Touch (Sprint). I am a bit reluctant to try it yet, but if you can do it successfully, and report on how it does, then maybe I'll follow your lead.
Thanks

So, I'm trying again. This time I plugged the phone in while it was turned on on the standard home screen. I let ActiveSync show that it was connected, and I ran RomUpdateUtility.exe. I click thru a couple screens, the phone automatically goes over to the rainbow screen, and then the status bar screen. It sits at 0% for about a minute.
...and I get another ERROR[262]: Update Error.
I turn the phone back on and it reboots fine (I guess it never actually started writing to the Phone's memory, just like in my initial post.)
One thing before you start, qanda, do you know about Dashwire? It's a way to backup all your phone contacts & info to the web before you wipe the memory. I guess there maybe different backup services out there, but I like to use one just to be safe.
Ah hah! Now it's (ALMOST) working... Here's some stream-of-consciousness directions I'm typing as I do the flash procedure.
1. Plug in phone (phone is turned on, in the normal home screen state)
2. Make sure ActiveSync says you're connected.
3. Run the unlocker (the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exe file). Do *not* extract the downloaded file and run the RUU.exe file yourself. It doesn't work that way. You just follow the directions here in the "DOS" looking window that pops up. It does something to the phone, tells you to unplug & replug, ... Eventually a ROM loading program starts & you follow those directions. Then you go back to the "DOS" looking window.
4. Phone automatically reboots and gets to the Windows Mobile initialization screen (tap here & there, etc). Then the phone starts loading the customization stuff automatically. (I was getting a bit worried here that it was stuck on the Windows Mobile 6.1 boot screen -- seemed to take an extra minute or two, but it eventually came up.)
5. Now I guess the phone is *UNLOCKED* but still running the stock Sprint WinMo6.1 OS. I can confirm that when I do the PWR-CameraButton-Stylus reset to the rainbow screen, I see the SPL-2.31.CoKe text in the red bar.
6. Next, I'm going to try loading the NFSFAN 6.5 ROM...
7. I'm back to following the instructions in the thread by codybear *explicitly*: unplug phone, 3-button-reboot to rainbow mode (displaying SERIAL), plug in phone (now displaying USB), run the RUU.exe inside the directory where I decompressed the NSFFAN ROM. Clicked thru the RUU.exe program & phone goes to percent-loading status screen. Phone reboots itself at 100%.
8. Phone reboots *slowly*, the Sprint Splash animation is replaced by an HTC animation. Whew! after several minutes I see a WinMo6.5 setup screen. I do the setup & it autoload customizations. Phone automatically reboots.
9. Still following codybear's thread, I do the RED-GREEN-Stylus hard reset. (You have to hold down the buttons until you see the grey Hard Reset Warning Screen.) ... another SLOW reboot & I go thru the WinMo6.5 tap-screen setup again
10. Like codybear says, I install the Sprint DCD cab that I had copied onto my memory card. Phone wants to reboot again, so I OK it. (Sprint has one DCD cab and another cab for MMS, so I do both.)

Directions are now complete. Unfortunately when I try to do something with data service I get a "Error Code 1012 Data Provisioning Failure". It's late now, so I'll try to fix it tomorrow. This might help: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35433
Now I got everything working. I fixed the final error -- the "Error Code 1012 Data Provisioning Failure".
I initially tried running the IOTA thing via:
Run IOTA by going to Start->Settings->Personal Tab->Phone->Services Tab->Internet->Get Settings->Start
...nothing happened. The I found this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410357
I did the RegEdit thing like it describes, setting the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/DIM/EnableCurrentUserName value to 0. Then I reran IOTA, and all is well.
Then I reinstalled Dashwire, it sync'ed my contacts up & I'm back to normal!
Woohah!
btw...RegEdit is on the NSFFAN ROM under Start Menu-> System Tools
OK....I've followed all the tutorials, searched, and still I can't figure out how to get Hard HSPL2 on my tmous HD2 so that I can then begin the process of installing custom ROMs. When I run the HSPL2 from the zip, I follow the on-screen instructions, select 2.08hspl, and select next. After that my phone does the tri-colour thing and then it just sits there with a green bar moving back and fourth on the screen. It doesn't give me a percentage amount to let me know how far along I am!
I let it sit for 30 mins....and still nothing. And also....activesync disconnects once HSPL2 is ran. If anyone knows whats going on please help me. I really need a custom ROM. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Just so you guys know....I am running Windows XP SP3, I have Activesync 4.5 installed, HSPL will load and got thru the process, but nothing after that. The green bar will just go back and fourth for a long time.
I'm a noobie to WinMo. I don't know if my advice will help, but I'll share. I had a similar problem when I tried installing HSPL2. For some reason, when my HD2 was in bootloader mode, it would disconnect from the USB connection and reconnect. But HSPL wouldn't finish the installation and I kept getting a fatal error message that connection was lost. All I did was was run HSPL2 again after I got the error message and it worked fine. If you're getting the same error message, it should work.
I'm not getting the error msg, It's just that the HSPL installer is stuck on the installation screen and just sits there. The green bar will go back and fourth for like 20-30 mins. IDK what I can do to fix it.
i'd say try every usb port, especially try to use one round the back.and don't forget to run as administrator,
I've downloaded the HSPL_1024. What happens is I'll run it, it'll go thru the process, but in won't install. There's a green bar that goes back and fourth forever. My phone will sit on the tri-colour screen and nothing else will happen. I let it sit that way for a long time and still nothing. Shold I do a hard reset or what?
Watch This!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6Bt0S7dCmM
It's funny, I just watched that video. Followed exactly what that guy did. His finished in under 2 minutes or so. After about 15 minutes...mines still has the green bar going back and fourth. I am getting so frustrated. I love this phone but I can't stand having to deal with things like this in order to get to it's full potential.
its a long shot but try taking out the sd and sim, and i repeat what i said about usb ports. hspl is far more picky about it than regular flashing.
try starting already in bootloader, if the word serial doesn't change to usb then there is your problem.
Im getting an error msg now. ughhh! And the error msg comes after letting the program run for about 10 mins. I'm going to try and take the sim and SD card out and then try again. IDK what I'll do after that.
samsamuel...I've tried everything you said. Now I'm getting a "Critical Error". I'm on a Macbook running Windows XP SP3 in VMWARE. I have activesync 4.5 (not WMDC) Does this make a difference at all? If none of this helps I'll just have to do a hard reset and try it again.

ohhhh well there you are then. when the phone is running propperly, the mac can happily pass the usb signal through, but when it boots to bootloader, the mac fails to propperly pass through the signal. (Based on stuff that i have read , , i dont have a mac)
Got a friend with a PC? use that to flash HSPL, and then on your own machine give bootcamp a try to actually run xp rather than vmware for flashing.

Use a PC...that'll work
HI,
I just had this problem and I saw that a ton of others had it too. It was where my phone would stop at the windows screen and not boot, and my PC wouldn't read the phone so I couldn't load a new rom or Hard SPL. How I fixed it was by getting my phone into bootloader mode, (the multi colored screen). Here's how to do it.
While phone is Off:
Hold Volume down & press power button
While phone is On
Hold Volume down & press Reset Button (meaning the little yellow button by the battery that you have to press with a pen to soft reset it)
Once your on the bootloader screen, plug your phone into your PC, you will hear the ding that the computer recognized it but your Windows Mobile desktop software will still say your not connected, don't worry about that,, you are connected. After that, just pick whatever rom you want, then just install it like normal. and it works. If your not running a rom, do the same but install hard SPL instead of a ROM.
I hope this helps,
As long as your phone turns on at least to the opening screen there is hope.
kn0t.
i had that problem, my phone was stuck on stock together splash screen, but I just called up tmo and they have sent me a new hd2.
Three words. I LOVE YOU! well not really since I'm not gay ha!
By the way This also works for the HTC Imagio!

Ok first off what ROM do you have and what SPL does it show when you are in the muticolor bootloader screen? Secound if you are trying to flash a ROM yse right clicking the .exe file and selecting run as adminastrator is a good idea. l
I had the same problem.. what usually helps for me is when it gets stuck.. pull out the battery and give it a solid 15-20 minutes.. and then turn it on and do nothing up until after it has booted
i do the battery thing but i cant go on doing this , i put a little txt or phone call and the phone goes bonkers and heats up,nightmare!
ok on the tri colour screen it says
PBB110 HX-BC
SPL-S.08.0000 8G XE
MICRO(LED) 0X05
MICROP(TOUCH)
SERIAL
AH!! just got into the boatloader screen !! by pressing volume up and down together~! rest it! but i need to wait cos ive pulled the battery again!!!
I am having the same issue. I had a android rom then was finally able to flash via sd the stock rom, but it would just freeze on splash screen when trying to boot. Now when I try to flash rom again it will start and freeze on 1%. Any suggestions?
Now when I try to load rom via usb it starts and then freezes on 1%. Then will say communication error and then when trying to boot phone it says software issue and now I cant even get a rom put back on! Please help lol

Ok try going to windowsmobile.com/getstarted and download and install the latest version of ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) , wich ever one you have to have for your computer, and install it on your computer as they have updated USB drivers for your HD2.
have you tried loading a rom from the root of your memory card LEOimg.nbh?
i have this problem too...but what is worse is after i went to splash screen and connect my phone to pc, my pc wont detect my hd2...so i cant flash a new rom...
ps : im on stock rom bought this almost 2 years ago if im not mistaken

You need to put your phone into bootloader then your computer will recognize it. Hold the volume down button down while you power on the phone and the multicolor bootloader will come up. Next connect your HD2 to your computer via your USB cable. Wait for the Serial in the white bar of bootloader changes to USB and then flash. If you go to the device manager of your computer while you see USB on your phone it should say HTC USB Sync if you want to be assured that you have a connection to flash with.
