Hi guys,
Remember there is "Automatic pickup" (see Phone/Tools/More)?
Well, try using it while having your Bt earpeace or hands-free kit...
No go? Have to press a button in order to get the chat?
That is exactly what's driving me crazy!
See if you can adapt automatic pickup for the earpeace too...
I tried - in vale..
Hmmm...
Do you mean where I can actually pick up a call when the phone is ringing?
I don't get the idea, can you be more specific. When my phone rings, I just simply hit the phone button on my Jabra 250V.
Auto pickup by Bt
Let me put it this way:
The auto pickup format is made for receiving a call without the need to press anything: after a few rings (you set their quantity) the phone is open for the conversation by itself.
Go to Phone / Tools / More and see for yourself!
The problem that if you use a Bt device you have to press a button in order to get the call, even if it's auto pickup.
Now, try doing that in surgery or while you have to pay attention to the road when driving..
Let's find a way to allow auto pickup through Bt as well!
i have a problem with this. i'm sitting at my pc, someone calls my phone automaticly answers and connects to my pc as hands-free. it does all this in like half a ring so i have no time to stop it. i have to pick up my phone take off handsfree and then i see who it is i'm talking to, and most of the time its people i'm avoiding. and its getting really annoying because my bt on my pc reaches my phone almost anywhere in the house i went to phone-tools-options-more and the auto answer feature is unselected. what do i do? also when i go to bluetooth devices on my jam there is no remove hands-free only set as handsfree.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i fixed it, i just went to bluetooth services on my pc and unchecked start up automaticly on headset thingy.
thanks anyway
Does anyone know how we can get all of the Sony DS980's features to work with our Tilts?
Any ideas?
Anybody?
Thanks,
Dave.
Install the jetware bluetooth extension and it gets a few more functions working but some features such as address book will still not work
Do you have personal experience with this? If so, please list everything that does work for us...
I've been using this for a month or so with the jetware extension installed, it allows you to browse your call history and return calls from there but not the address book.
I think after installing this the only things that don't work are the address book and music track name display.
Just try it out there's a 30 day trial and if it's not for you uninstall it. i don't think all features will work unless we get a new bluetooth stack, maybe windows mobile 6.1 update will do this when it finally comes out.
Does it display the names & numbers of incoming calls?
Do you know how your set-up compares to the Motorola S705 SoundPilot?
it does display the numbers of incoming calls, think the jetware extension needs to be installed for this though, if it's one of your contacts it displays the name like "Home" etc.
I've no experience of Motorola headsets but i would assume they will have the same problem as it seems the Microsoft bluetooth stack is missing the more advanced features so the information is not sent to the headset.
I have one
I just got my new ATT 8925. I am using DS 980. I will test it next week and let you guys know. I am using on my cingular 8125 and it works fine

The music and call quality are very good, compare to others BT I had tried before, HBH-200, Nokia Hs-12W and others Motorola BT. The only cons I have is, there is no clip-so it will be bouncy around your chest, and the charger head is hard to find (I wish they use a universal mini usb head for charger, so we don't need to bring so many charges). Pairing is easy and more stable, compare to my old cingular 8125. ID display for last 10 incoming/outgoing call on BT. You can't get your whole contact on BT display.
A few questions / care to do a review?

A few questions , if you don't mind:
Does it work with Voice Command?
How well?
How comfortable is the lanyard?
Can it be worn comfortably all day?
Is the lanyard detachable?
Is the lanyard adjustable / can it be shortened?
Does it have any sort of an auto-pairing feature?
Is there much of a delay in pairing?
How fast or slow is it?
How does it do switching to & from incoming calls when you're listening to music?

Does it show the contact name &/or # of incoming calls?

Will it let you know if the person that you put on hold hangs up while you're talking to the new caller?
How's the range on it?
Can it pair to multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously?
Have you tried it?
I want to pair to my laptop & listen to music off of it while I still have the ability to be alerted of incoming calls & to take them as well.
Can it do it?
Have you tried it?

Are the headphones permanently attached or can you replace them with any pair you like?
How do the original headphones sound:
-in general
-bass
Can you initiate calls with it (from your last ten calls list)?
Is there an audible alert for incoming calls:
-when the phone isn't on silent, so it is set to ring / ring & vibrate
-when the phone is set to silent
Have you tried the Jetware extension yet?
How much did you pay for your 980s?
Is that the best deal that you've seen on them?
If not, then where did you see that best price?

Spooki37, even without Jetware extension, I can get caller Id and call history on my DS 980.
Is the microphone on the DS 980 pretty good? It seems to have all the other features I want in a headset.
I bought a Motorola S705 and the microphone on it is horrible, everyone says I can barely be heard or my voice is clipped or runs together and they can't understand me.
Also the motorola will loose bluetooth connection if I get a reminder from PhoneAlarm that I missed a call or have a voicemail. Haven't tried to see if this happens when streaming music and a call comes in.
I just bought this unit. However, after a call comes in when music is playing, the unit disconnects. Is there any way to stop this?
I installed jetware and t seems my problem is fixed
Is it possible to connect an android phone to the tablet through Bluetooth, WiFi or even usb and make and receive calls and sms through the tablet?
tried searching, but all i can find is how to use the phone's internet connection, but cant find any information on how to connect to the cell phone part for calls and sms.
you can use a app called textab ..or sms sync ..
for sms phone calls .. only thing i know of is like google voice or like skype.
Will those work with the iphone as well? I'd love to have texts pushed to my tablet.

There is an app in the market called AirDroid that will allow you to text through your tablet. It will connect to your phone via wifi using a web browser, I am using Skyfire. I am not sure if you can make phone calls, but you can transfer music and photos. Hope this helps.

Airdroid is a very nice and useful app. thanks for that.
unfortunately, no phone function though.
years ago, i had an old "dumb" phone that i connected to the computer with bluetooth and was able to make and receive calls from it.
wonder why it is not available with the so called "smart" phones.
even to just be able to use the tablet as a hands-free device to answer calls would be useful to me. i can do it when the phone is connected to the computer with bluetooth. but when i try to connect the phone to the tablet, nothing happens. it tells me that it is paired but not connected and no other options are available on either the tablet or the phone.
They have a program called tablet talk on the market. You can make and receive txt true the tablet and see incoming phone calls on the tablet from the phone thru Bluetooth or wifi
If your on sprint, you can just integrate your cell number into google voice, with groove ip I can make calls and SMS from gvoice app

It's a very interesting concept. It's something that I would be interested as well.
Tablet Talk and Texttab allow to send and receive SMS when connected to the phone by BT.
Tablet Talk works with most tablets with a Wi-Fi connection but not with the iconia a100/500
For phone calls, there is still another problem with the a500 : it's the low volume of the microphone, anyway...
Google voice plus goove IP... your welcome.
Thanks, but I already have a voip service.
not what i am looking for.
like to have a direct access to the cellphone part from my tablet. or at the very least, use the tablet as a handsfree device.
but i guess it is asking too much and it is not possible or there would have been something on market to do that by now.
oh well...
Use phone with tablet
Hi,
I'm interested in this aswel ...
Primarily the idea is that say I have a Samsung Note, which is a bit big to hold up to your head to make a call, to be able to connect a phone to the Note and make/receive calls using the phone but through the Note. A bit like a bluetooth headset, but using a phone.
Before anyone says it, I have a B'Tooth headset, but I hate them - I don't want to look like a cab driver 8)
Cheers,
Stu
I use TexTab. I love it. It allows me to create new texts, respond to ones that come in, and even displays alerts for incoming calls. I can leave my phone charging in one room of my house while I use my Iconia in another room to text through my phone.
Bluetooth only
Here is the thing. I installed an android tablet in my car, and now i am trying to sync it to my phone in regard to phone calls and sms. I know google voice can do that but i am not planning on putting internet connection on the tablet since it will almost always be in the car. My old TomTom had a bluetooth sync with my phone and could receive phone calls from it .. is there any possible way i can do that and sync my tablet with my phone via bluetooth ???

You posted in very old thread. As an answer to you Bluetooth mic support is not available with the a500 in either direction, so it will not do as you want
MighyText
I use mightytext. Its simple.and does not need to be connected either by bluetooth nor wifi. Works like.. charm. Just download it.on both your android devices. Very simple
I bought these headset a couple of days ago and I want to know if they are able to announce the caller or phone #. I disabled some services in my phone and I don't know if that could be the reason, or if I need an app installed in my phone to get that feature? thanks in advance :highfive:
I have this headset and cant say I have found this feature, I remember seeing somewhere on the phone an option to announce Callers and Text messages, Not something I would use as I wouldn't like my texts read aloud while at work, school etc.. But if it worked via the headset, maybe ill look again.

I just found an app called ReaditToMe that will announce callers or read text and you can choose to only do it whenever you have headphones plugged in or bluetooth. Im currently testing it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robj.readit.tomefree
Its in settings, then sound, then below system
its changable when you have sound enabled, so not when silent or in vibrate mode.
Hello,
I have a u8 smart watch. And pair with my phone.
My problem is this:
When a call arrives, my phone and watch is ringing. And i answer call on my watch, i talk on the watch. Also i answer on the phone, it always send sound and mic. To the watch.
Now, is there a way that selecting active device for speaking on it.
Ios do it like i told. If you answer on the watch you speak on the watch, and ıf you answer on the phone you speak on the phone.
Is there a way for control speaking device (watch or phone).
Thank you...
If I recall, the u8 connects as a media device only, and requires phone audio or call audio to be routed, or it disconnects? If so, then no, I don't think you can manage that.
You do it on the phone. Select anything but Bluetooth.
Maybe you can try a program like automateit to disable BT on incoming calls until hangup.
I'd certainly buy the watch that has an "answer on phone" button on the incoming call screen. I believe it's one of the standard Bluetooth headset commands so why don't they use it?
I partially solved the problem with tasker. I scheduled a task that sets bt off when call screen. Thank you anyway my friends.
