Hi,
New to android and the arc and loving it after being stuck on a 2year WM6.5 contract.
What I want to know is if there is a way to cycle through your live wallpapers so you can either choose the order, have a random selection or specify certain wallpapers for certain times of the day.
If there is something out there that does this already or if it has the potntial to be developed then I would be very interested.

Hmm, not quite - from the description this appears to cycle through selected images or from a folder of pictures. What I'm really looking for is something that would have my fireworks lwp at night and weather lwp during the day etc. More of a scheduler. Probably not such a great idea or in demand I suppose else I'm sure somebody would have done it by now.
What about this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.pwall&feature=search_result
Dunno if it will do live wallpapers or not, but the guy offers a 24 hour refund & there's probably a demo too, so worth a look.
First of all, this phone is amazing. I smile when I look at it, the screen is ridiculous, the size is ridiculous, it's just over the top. Everyone that has seen it has liked it although most think it's too big, I can't really demonstrate how cool it is to surf the internet due to lack of wifi in my office and being on T-Mobile Edge but whatever, the phone is awesome. A few questions...
1. Any way to get the drawer to organize apps in alphabetical order without doing a list view? I know I was able to do this on the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Touch
2. When people send me picture messages, they show up as a video, annoying, I believe this was also an issue on the Galaxy S2 and I believe on my Galaxy S but I haven't had that phone in so long that I don't remember. Anyway to get rid of that without having to go to 3rd party apps? I can't imagine samsung designing a phone that can't tell the difference between a picture message and a video message.
Guess it's more like a couple of questions, other than that, loving the phone.
BTW my phone next to my roommates blackberry curve, I think he wants to get one too haha

yes , i don't have the links, but search the market and/or xda for touchwiz sort. I'm sure you can find it.
thanks but doesnt seem to be working
Figured I'd post what I've been working on the last day or two.
I sideloaded OpenLauncher onto my OUYA and overall am quite impressed with it, and it lets me group things into catagories which is what I wanted.
I wasn't happy with a few aesthetics and the way that OL would show the current running app as a background for the launcher, so I decompiled the .APK and started editing some of the .PNGs. This is what I have so far.
The icons on the dock bar at the bottom are customised too, but the photo is crappy so it doesn't show them well.
Any suggestions/constructive criticisms welcomed.
Also, can someone talk me through how to edit .9 images?

Thanks. Still playing around with it. I figured out the ninepatch thing so I can edit those properly now. I'm no pro by any means, just tinkering and trial and error. Keeps me occupied
I'll post the .APK when I'm done, but obviously all credit goes to the OpenLauncher dev - I just ripped it apart and changed a few things.
Can you find a way to jump into the play store without having to launch Ouya Launcher like BAXY does? Only reason I stopped using OpenLauncher. I like it seamless

I'd love to do that, but sadly I have absolute zero knowledge on how I'd go about it. I'm not a dev by any means, just like to tinker.
Maybe if someone / the dev of BAXY would be able to help me I could give it a go?
I used BAXY for a while and liked it generally, just not aesthetically. Being able to change the background and not relying on the OUYA launcher were plusses, but I didn't like the look of it at all.
Where's the source code for open launcher?

Obviously I meant Discover and not Play store but I do believe you already caught that. Yea, functionally BAXY isn't bad but I hate the look.

this is exciting. do you have an apk you'd be willing to post as a beta for now?
i'd be curious as well. i don't want to double up efforts and try doing something similar myself, if it was something you're planning on doing.

At the moment I've stopped doing anything with this. I'm reading around trying to figure out how to add in the functionality to launch Discover and to power off directly.
I've uploaded the .apk to my GDrive as it was too big to upload here. Link is at the bottom of this post, so feel free to use it, change it, share it, whatever. Really all I done was rip open the OpenLauncher apk and edit the stuff in the drawable-xdpi folder with Photoshop. Nothing special.
If you manage to make anything cool yourselves using this as a base, please share it in this thread - I for one would be interested in seeing what people come up with

Well for Discover we could just use the alternative store over in the dev board?
BAXY Launcher figured out the accessing/launching of Discover and Power, maybe ask or team up with the developer?
Blasted from my Samsung Galaxy SIII (CM10.1 Masta Mix).
I am currently running the Rooted Jasmine 5.0 Lollipop for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
I adjust my DPI so that I can fit more on my screen, I also prefer the way some apps look when you mod the DPI.
I used Rom Toolbox Pro to change my global DPI to 320, and most apps work GREAT this way. There are a few issues in doing this.
Google Plus, I can not STAND the way this app looks, The stock DPI they use makes me want to gouge my eyes out. I like to mod the DPI to 240 so that it gives more information on the screen and so that the postings don't take up the entire screen. It looks closer to the Desktop version of google plus, I can see two posts side by side. I haven't been able to do this since Xposed isn't working for Lollipop Touchwiz, so I can't use Per App DPI.
So while I wait patiently for updates to Xposed for Lollipop Touchwiz (if we ever get them), I am interested in modding the DPI of at least the Google Plus app, and possibly the Gallery app (when you set a custom DPI like 320, The gallery app fails to scale accordingly, similar to the dialer app, but I can live with the dialer. )
I am contemplating a separate app for Gallery, but there isn't such an app (that I know of) for Google Plus.
I also prefer to mod the DPI of the Chrome apk so that I can have my tabs across the top in a similar fashion as the Desktop version of Chrome, but again this is the least of my concerns. I plan to tackle this if I can find success in modding the Google Plus App.
Does anyone have a lead on where I can find a DPI modded Google Plus application, or is there someone that can help point me in the direction of modding the DPI myself? Any attempts to Decompile the app have not been successful, but I have never attempted anything like this before
This post KIND OF explains how he accomplished modding his app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-n900-t3018681
and This post got my hopes up: http://www.xda-developers.com/decomp...th-apk-studio/
I have even used the apktool but when I decompile my application there isn't anything listed in the app folder
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
First I like to say great job for trying to do it yourself before asking for help, love to see users learning!
My Google Fu isn't strong with this one so it may be that xposed was changing the DPI on the fly or something like that. Seems like this one may not be possible at the current time

Thanks for taking a look to help find some info for me!
I have been scouring these forums, other forums, and I am aslo quite deep in the google search pages, but I haven't given up!
I can't wait for MultiSystem so maybe I can help make some head way on Xposed!
I sent a few private messages to users who had modified applications in the past to support a better DPI, I'm waiting on some replies.
If you find anything new, I'd appreciate it if you could drop some info here

The first thing I do when buying a new Samsung phone is install my favourite font (SEGOE UI) as I like thin fonts and I'm not a fan of the heavy default font, (don't get me started on the ridiculous Choco Cooky and the others that Samsung offer) But the S7 is having none of it, saying all my 3rd party fonts are incompatible.
It's not a Marshmallow issue as far as I know as my S6 Edge+ is running MM and allows font apk installation.
Apps found on the Play Store that used to install fonts without root are all broken too. The only way to get more fonts is through Samsung's own app store and they are limited, expensive and mostly rubbish. I am after a lightweight standard font.

Once root is available, you can use ifont and install that way.

Yeah, I understand that root would solve the issue but I am not planning on rooting the S7 as I want to try out Samsung Pay when it reaches the UK. I just don't understand why installing fonts has suddenly become an issue when it was fine on all my previous Sammy devices.

I appreciate your help. Sadly I have tried all the installation modes and none of them work in iFont. It recommends root. So it looks like Samsung is only accepting fonts purchased in their app store. The vast majority of fonts in the app store are in Korean and all cost £1 each. So I guess I am stuck.

Time to learn Korean I guess. I am hoping my Canadian variant allows font changing. This would suck. I am rooting regardless of what happens.

You are correct the native third party font option does not seem to work. Weird.

Just another way for them to make money. It sucks that they don't us to change the font unless we purchase it. I also dislike that they took away the stock music player. You are forced to use the Google Play Music Player.

We're also having the problem with the S6 on Marshmallow too. The thing is, if you upgraded from Lollipop, your custom fonts that were already installed work, but if you do a clean install... same as described here.

Yes, you are correct. My custom font held when I upgraded my S6 Edge+ to Marshmallow, until I was forced to do a factory reset. I realised that I could no longer install the font without rooting
.
Hi. I'm also not rooted. I contacted Samsung and they said its definitely due to the marshmallow update and it's down to the developer of the font to update the font so we can use them from the play store. I contacted one developer for flip font but had no reply yet. So seems we have to pester them.
I basically killed my battery trying to get something to work last week LOL I know there was this issue with my S5 for awhile, then the font app developers updated something and I was able to install 3rd party fonts. Hopefully they'll update again so we can install whatever font we want. Since I'm on AT&T I doubt we'll have root.

I am positive this is not a marshmallow issue. I have a Note5 and have been facing the issue since the lollipop days. it was triggered by a software update in Jan '16, and ever since no third party fonts seem to work. I have tried every possible way, but without root, it is impossible.
Thanks. This is what Samsung told me. Obviously fobbing the blame elsewhere. I'm no developer. I wish there were more fonts available on the galaxy app store. Bit there's been nothing new in the past 2 weeks. Unless it's Korean. Hope someone on this site has an answer apart from root.
Slim Chance of getting free fonts
I am one of the free font developers and Samsung, and their partnership with Monotype, caused this issue. The code in the Marshmallow FlipFont program will only allow you to apply fonts that come from applications signed with a certain signature (i.e. apps that are owned and built by Monotype Imaging). Until there is a super sneaking work-around, there is really no chance for a free app to work on a stock Marshmallow phone.
It is funny (as a developer of free fonts) that Samsung is pointing the users to me to fix the issue... when they know that code was changed to prohibit free fonts being installed on Marshmallow devices.
I'm currently working on a quick fix to apply free fonts... but the prospect is not good. Sorry all :crying:
Please load these fonts on app store
