i made some changes online to my photos on picasa and deleted some directories but they are still appearing on my phone.. does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
If I recall I just turned my phone off and when the media scanner checks they shouldn't appear any more.
Actually unless I'm bonkers, when you mount your SD card I think it forces the phone to do a media scan when you unmount your SD card from Mass Storage mode.

I threw a few music files in the MY PDA folder under My Documents on my PC and expected them to sync accross to my Vario II. After connecting the phone it sent a couple across then I got a warning on the phone that 'Storage Memory is Critically Low'. Obviously the files had been synced onto the phone. Thought you would be able to specify to sync onto the phone storage card but there is no option for this anywhere.
Anyone know a way to do this?
if you set up the sync option for media player in active sync and then set up the playslists you want to sync in media player on your pc it will automatically set up the folders on your card and transfer the files. it does warn not to drag and drop onto the card of you want the sync process to work.
Cheers cdyat, but this was more of a test. For instance, what if I want to sync 30Mb of Office files with my phone. It would appear that I can't just put these in the My PDA Sync folder to be copied next time I connect, but I have to cut and paste from the relevant folders.
This to me seems ridiculous but I can't see an option to change the location to sync with the storage card anywhere.
You can only sync files, be default, into main memory. There are two 3rd party apps available (Sorry can't remember the names) that will allow you to Sync anything to anywhere. One is commercial and the other is a Japenglish conversion. Try searching these forums for links.
I am all for searching, but if anyone comes up with a name for those two apps, please post =)
As another user recently posted in this forum, Pocket Controller has a Sync Manager that can be used to synchronize files and folders to any location, including storage cards.
Pocket Controller sounds very nice but $35 is quite a lot just to enable me to sync a folder to my storage card.
I had assumed there must be a registry setting somewhere on the PC that would change the default path?
Try these

YMMV, but have a nice day...
Cheers Daniel, Mobsync looks like it might do the trick.
Acid Sync - Sync Computer Folder to SD Card\Folder
A guy I know is working on a program to do this with a much easier configuration since it just syncs Desktop folder to Storage Card folder. Pretty simple really, copy mp3 or whatever to desktop folder and it will sync to PPC folder and viceversa. Still in beta though

I wanted to store my messages on my Storage Card. So to do this i used SKtools. So far so good. After a soft reset no programs are working anymore.
After some research I found out that my messages indeed were stored @ Storage Card\my messages ...BUT the REAL Storage Card was renamed to Storage Card2. That was the reason programs are no longer working.
I really dont now why SKtools should create a new folder with teh same name. Anyone knows this problem?
It's not SKTools renaming your card, it's your HD2.
I posted a few things about this early on and got no interest or response - you are the first person other than me who has tried this (apparently!).
In the absense of a more definitive answer, I am assuming that the storage card is slow to mount on the HD2, so the system can't find it when initialising mail and so creates it's own 'Storage Card' folder. When the real card is mounted it is therefore named 'Storage Card2'.
As for what to do about it... Well, there is talk dating back a couple of years about delaying the loading of mail applications to give the card a chance to mount, but that dates back to WM5 and WM6 and relates to disabling the mail plugin on the Today Screen. With that in mind I tried checking the Startup Folder and removed the link to poutlook that was in there, but it made no difference.
It may just be another example of where HTC in trying to improve the interface have badly impacted what was a crucial piece of functiuonality for me - the ability to move my mail to the Storage Card. Given the issues being reported with storage space on the device, this is a major pain!
You can at least use the system software to send any attachments to the Storage Card - that works without issue.
for some reason, all of my photos that i take with the camera are now saving on to the phone memory, specifically my documents > my pictures.. im fine with that (though i would prefer if they saved on to the memory card)..
however im unable to access the device memory when connecting it up to the computer, though i can see everything on the memory card. am i doing something wrong? i tried searching, but i couldn't find any answers. thanks
if you connect via active sync, your blackstone should show up in "Computer" or "My Computer" (depending on your windows version) and you should have 2 drives inside, one for the phone storage, and one for the storage card, and while you cannot access the phone's windows folder from there, my documents should be possible.
if you connect as a disk drive, there is only the storage card, because the blackstone acts as a card reader, then your phone unmounts the card.
if you are using vista or 7, you can import all photos, no matter where they are stored, using the image importer in wmdc.
and if you want your photos back on the storage card, because apparently everything runs better that way, just move them using file explorer or total commander on your phone and set the option to store on the storage card in the camera app.
If you want your pictures saved on your card, just go to camera settings and you have the option of saving pictures on card, instead of phone's memory. As for the part of not being able to explore your device, are you sure you synchronized it with the pc and you are not using your phone as a storage device ? It should prompt you to choose a connection type: activesync connection or storage card. Choose activesync and when you connect your device to your pc, you should see the following pic and you can explore your device but clicking on that folder.
I have a number of media files that do not show up in the media library despite being on the sd card and can be played on my laptop from the sd card through the phone.
Any ideas?
Exchange phone only reads some tracks on two SD cards.
Is it a format and reload all y music? I hope not.
Mine connects fine to the computer and can copy files etc
In iSyncr, it will sync play counts but as soon as it tries to sync playlists/copy over songs it just freezes.
Spare phone has no issues. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks

It sounds like you're syncing over MTP.
Are you seeing any error messages displayed on iSyncr Desktop?
Try syncing to the internal storage or SD card storage rather than what you've typically been syncing to - see if the result is any different.
I used iSyncr to sync over 3,000 songs to the external SD card without any issues.
