Hi guys
I want to have a battery icon with the % number.
I opened the framework-res.apk and replaced the default battery images in /res/drawable-hdpi with the new ones (stat_sys_battery_0.png - stat_sys_battery_100.png).
I closed the standard ubuntu archiver and flashed the rom.
But the battery displays only every 20th image.
My question: What do I have to do that the battery displays each image?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English...

I also deodexed the whole rom.

guys , is there anyone who can help me and write a guide or point me to one on how to add the % overlay for the battery? Cant find what damn smali file to edit.
Piter1225 posted this on a MoDaCo thread:
http://android.modaco.com/content-p...your-homescreen-usable-and-eye-candy/page/40/
In services.jar edit IconData.smali, StatusBarIcon.smali, StatusBarPolicy.smali
The best way is to find two services.jar from same ROM - one with, and one without percentage batt and compare them.
Good apps for comparing two files are in my opinion: ExamDiff for Windows and xxdiff for Linux

BTW, if you are making one for the latest FroYo leak, can you please share it?
thanks a lot. Apparently LSteam already did the editing of the services.jar so he saved me a lot of work. you should probably try pushing his services.jar. it might add the % overlay.
nevermind what i said. He went the easy way and did the changes on the framework. I guess ill have to do the whole editing thing.

Ok, I still do not get it? This is obviously the right way to do it, but how? What do I do with that APK?
Sorry I am new to ROM cooking, my ROM works awesome but I want to add some custom wallpapers to my ROM and change the default. This seems to be a common question with no easy answers.

you can easily unzip the apk file in Linux and do what you want to it and then rezip it in store mode and sign it. ( tadaaaaaa, it is it)
or in windows, change the apk to ZIP and Unzip it and then do what you want and then zip it in store mode change to apk and sign it in linux (or with cigwin in windows), again ( TADAAAAA, it is it)...

Could you explain a bit more?
The file htc-resource.apk contains the default background. But when I open it as a zip, I dont see any file which could be the default background. On decompiling with apkmanager, it tells me it has dependencies.
I know this thread is old, but I have the same question
If you are using the latest rom FroYo I suggest you look in the folder:
\SYSTEM\customize\resource

Modifying them there just shows them in Gallery. It doesnt make the background the default loaded when the rom is first installed
In framework-res.apk is what you need

Thank you! But when I changed the default wallpaper.jpg there, it showed that wallpaper for a second while booting up, and following the language and country setup, immediately reverted to the other one..I'm guessing there's one other location where this setting is present
HtcAddProgramWidget.apk - framework-res.apk - \SYSTEM\customize\resource
They are the only places where you can find wallpapers HTC (ammen you're not working on a custom ROM)

Can anyone guide me which png changes what in the framework?
I mean like any step by step guide for knowing which png is for what screen, like stat_sys_battery_40.png is for Battery at 40%.
Thanks, I'm new to this, and I just want to theme my rom to my taste.
Please Help.
There are hundreds of pngs - to say what each one does is not practical
most are described as it actually is - eg batt is battery or you can just look at the png and see what is
if you want to do something specific best thing to do is search for a guide for what you want to do - eg add epm to framework

I can upload any deodex, file you may need to get to work,
I try but no luck and been short in time to keep trying.
P.S. B29.Community ROM & Dmix7 or any ROM base on both of my ROM are deodex.
If you can get me the the the deodex SystemUI_ZTE file I can get the other files needed if not I may have time to deodex it myself I just remember that deodex for odex file was a pain and I will have to teach my self how to do it again.

Thanks man I will get on it, if it goes alright you will have to start a thread in apps and themes and post the files since you are good at that kind of stuff
Well I got the files and made the changes and flashed and it.... Didn't work. Now when I was in one of the XML files making some edit I noticed that ZTE pulls it's battery file from another app kind of like 3minit does. So the problem is going to be tracking that down and making some more edits... Error oh well the standard procedure didn't work, but I have not given up it will take longer and I might have to change another app or have one deodexed, but I will let you know.
